4 sticks!  Duh, why didn't I think of that!

Barry Hughart is a hoot!  Such witty humor.  I have no idea where my copies of "Story of the Stone" and "Eight Skilled Gentlemen" went - I better order them before I finish this book.  I tend to go through withdrawals if I don't have the next book in a series to read right away.

The Infamous Disappearing Posts; Tailbone Reached; Collective Wellbeing

Ugh, I just wrote this really long post and hit the backspace key and lost it all!  Oh well..  I will have to re-write it tomorrow.  For now, I'll just say that I am now tailbone length YAY!!  And I got a new shampoo and conditioner I'm very happy with by Collective Wellbeing.

http://www.collectivewellbeing.com/

Unfortunately the ingredients are not listed on their site, but I'll type out the ingredients for the ones I got tomorrow.  I got the Moisturizing Shampoo and Quick-Fix Conditioner.

I still like the last stuff I got - Avalon Organics Ylang-Ylang with Mica shampoo and conditioner.  And I've got both brands on a "rotation".  More on that later.

Thank you much!  Tailbone is a nice length - it doesn't touch anything when you sit down.  If classic length get's too unwieldy, I'll cut it back to this length.

Here are the ingredients I promised. For ease of skimming I bolded the Plain English Wink  :

  • Collective Wellbeing Moisturizing Shampoo with Aloe and Illipe Nut
    (has a light citrus scent)

Purified water (aqua), Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Methyl Cocyl Taurate, Lauramido/cocamidapropyl Betain, PEG-150 Glycol Distearate, Certifed Organic Aloe Barbodensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Shorea Stenoptea (Illipe Nut) Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit. E), Persea Gratisima (Avocado) Oil, Panthenol (Vit. B5), Certified Organic Malaleuca Altemifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Certified Organic Extracts of Salvia Officinollis (Sage), Equiseturn Arvense (Horsetail), Yucca Schidigera (Yucca), Urtica Dioica (Nettle), Chamomilla Matricana (Chamomile), Flower and Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Flower, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Polyquaternium-7, Guar Hydroxy-/Cinnomidopropyltrimonium Chloride, Steareth-20 Methocylate Capolymer, Cirtic Acid, Chlorphensin, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexylglycerin Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate and a blend of pure essential oils such including Citrus Limon (Lemon), Citrus Bergonia (Bergamot, Citrus Reticulate (Mandarin Orange), Guaiocom Officianalle Guaiocwood) essential oils.
  • Collective Wellbeing Quick-Fix Conditioner with Camillia and Illipe Nut
    (has a light citrus scent)

Purified water (aqua), Certifed Organic Aloe Barbodensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cetearyl/Cetyl Alchohol, Shorea Stenoptea (Illipe Nut) Butter, PEG-100 Glycayl Distearate, Dimethicone, Oleth-10, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit. E), Soy Lecithin, Panthenol (Vit. B5), Hydrolized Soy Protein, Camillia Sinensis (Camillia) Oil, Certified Organic Malaleuca Altemifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Behenalkonium/Hydroxypropyl/Cetrimonium Chloride, Persea Gratisima (Avocado) Oil, Certified Organic Prunus Amygdolus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Melia Aza?? (Neem) Seed Oil, Certified Organic Extracts of Salvia Officinollis (Sage), Chamomilla Matricana (Chamomile), Urtica Dioica (Nettle), Yucca Schidigera (Yucca), Rosemarius Officinalis (Rosemary), Juniperus Communis (Juniper) Fruit, Equiseturn Arvense (Horsetail), and Macrocystis Pyrifera (Sea Kelp), Cystine, Taurine, Arginine IAmino Acids), Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, PPG-Cetethe-3 Acetate, Chlorphensin, Annatto, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexylglycerin and a blend of pure essential oils such including Canaga Odorata (Ylang-Ylang), Eugenia Caryophyllata (Clove Bud), Pseudolsugo Menzisii (Douglas Fir), Jasmimum Samboc (Jasmin Absolut), and Citrus Aurantium (Sweet Orange) essential oils.

I might have misspelled some of those.  Actually, I'm sure I did.  The font on the label was so tiny - I had my reading glasses AND a magnifying glass.  Smiley

Thanks all!  I've got the pics!  Sorry it's been a busy week with work and skipped washing my hair.  I wanted to take it when it was fresh!  Here it is, day after wash

...

And I did a comparison pic of the last 9 months, from the time I found the board to today.  Notice the large growth between 7/05 and 10/05 - that was due to a medication I was on called Cyclosporin.  One of the side effects is excessive hair growth.  But also, I was not yet consistent in my measuring, and I think my first measurement was off.  It was probably more like 25" or 26" judging from the other pics.

...

New Hair Observations over the Last Few Months

Water does not flow the way you think it does

Even though I have a hand-held shower head, I never used to take it off the hook to wash my hair.  Then a couple times I noticed, when I used warm water then cold water after (to close the cuticles) there would still be warm water in the middle of my hair after I thought I had washed it out.  This meant water was not flowing well through the middle, and I probably was not washing everything out.  Which would explain why my ends felt coated, would stick together, which led to tangles.  Now, I hold the shower head like I should, and rinse all the way down the length.  This solved my tangly ends problem.

Alternating Shampoos Each Wash Leaves No (or Little) Build-up

I haven't tried the wash technique where you use one type of shampoo and conditioner, then do a clarifying wash every so often.  I'd imagine this works similar to that.  I have a bunch of products that I don't really want to throw out.  When I use any of them for two consecutive washes in a row, I can already feel a build-up.  But if I switch products each time I end up with nice bouncy hair that doesn't tangle.

Hair - the Built-in Fur Coat

The last few months, I've left my hair down around the house.  I noticed that I was warmer than usual (I'm normally always cold and I thought it was another medication side effect.)  After several months of wearing my hair down, I put it up one day and noticed how cold I got!  So I think all these years that I thought I had poor blood circulation, I just didn't have enough hair.  Smiley

Current Routine
  • Wash every 2 to 3 days
  • Rotate the following products
    • Avalon Organic Ylang-Ylang and Mica Shampoo/Conditioner
    • Complete Wellbeing Moisturizer Shamoo and Quick-Fix Conditioner
    • (third product to be determined)
  • follow wash with shea butter on ends
  • ACV rinse every 1 to 2 weeks

Your hair color is gorgeous!  It looks like the wood doors.  Are those wood doors in the background?

How cool to show your progress.

I agree with the rotation of products.  I get very little to no build-up with it.

Regarding the water.  I find that if I just let the water flow through my hair without the help of my hand it takes longer to get the water to the scalp.  My hair is still short enough to feel the cooler water wash out (from when I've got the conditioner on and am washing the bod) when I do my warm rinse.  Then I feel the warm wash out with the cool rinse.
So, in case I've washed out the conditioner totally, I use a leave in before styling products.  Gotta use those or my waves look like crap.

Nice to see you on the boards again  Grin
