Thank-you all. It’s good to be back home. It feels good to be able to logon to LL every day and see everyone and read how they are doing.

“Hair Witchery”
Last week, I felt like some experimentation and, given that I wanted to do a deep conditioning treatment I forge forward. Inspired by Anais’s whipped butter recipe, I thought I’d try my own variant, given I didn’t have all the ingredients mentioned. The results are really wonderful; now, if only I’d been more precise about measuring!

Whip together...
2 parts shea butter,
1 part virgin coconut oil,
1 teaspoon jojoba oil,
drops of favorite essential oil

Really whip this up and get the consistency of cake frosting or meringue. My coconut oil was stored in a cool place and therefore, was semi-solid. I used bitter orange EO for a bright smell. Similar to simple shea butter, the tiniest bit of this stuff goes a long, long way.

I did a quick, loose single braid and let the stuff go to work on my hair. Washing it out was very easy and then I did an ACV rinse because I knew I had some conditioner build up from my trip. The result was super soft hair. These last few days, I used this “hair witchery” on my ends instead of simple shea butter. WOW! My ends are baby soft just like after a wash. If these results continue, this will become my favorite was of moisturizing my hair. And the smell is great too! Next batch, I might substitute patchouli to try something different.

Sounds yummy!  Actually, my favorite scented candle is orange AND patchouli.  You might want to give that combo a try.

Ooooh! Anais, you just inspired me again! Thank-you. I shall call this "hair witchery" Shea la Crème!

Yummy, that does sound good. One of my favorite candle scents is from a line of candles called Ergo; they are 100% vegetable soy wax. They burn incredibly clean; there is no smoke and the glass hold never gets that sooty film like paraffin. The scent I like best is Lavender Patchouli.

I’ll have to give your suggestion a try. With the ACV rinse I did, I added patchouli, which I can still smell in my hair and with using Shea la Crème on my ends, it is a great combination.
