Aww, I feel so bad for you Cry...but think about the gain...short term pain for long term gain... Undecided but I do feel for you.  Hell, I am mad because I lost 0.5 inches due to unhealthy hair.  I dunno how much you need to cut off, but it sounds like you need more and I feel soooooo bad for you.  Good luck

The Body Shop's honey shampoo and conditioner. Since I have rather dry and wavy/curly hair I also have their leave-in, deep conditioner with coconut and on top of that I use jojoba oil.  Tongue I HATE too many -cones (silicone) in hair products, they ruined my hair.  Angry Made me cut off quite a lot- but I tried to think happy thoughts lol.  Wink It's in so much better condition ( = prettier  Wink ) now so it was worth it.  Smiley

Pantene Blonde Expressions Shampoo and Conditioner
I love it!
Depending on what color hair you have, they have different kinds of shampoo's with different nutrients and ingredients for your hair color.
It works so well.

I've been using Avalon organics lavender nourishing shampoo because, well, it's cheap, and it's organic.  It has done really well for me.  I have always been blessed with thick full volume hair, and this stuff hasn't changed that a bit.  It has a very pleasant smell too.  Compared to the Dove shampoo that I used to use, it doesn't leave my hair feeling slick, it just feels soft, but keeps the natural texture.  I like it, and would recommend it to anyone that doesn't need any extra volume from their daily wash.   I've also been using my new GHD hair straightener right after the wash and I haven't seen nor felt any damage from it, so I say it's definitely a mix of the two products.

Hey AngelSpun, Good Evening to ya!!  I have been using the Pantene for greying hair lately, and I like it.  It cleans my hair without that just stripped feeling.  I am thinking of going to the Ice Shine next.  Then maybe onto something else.  I think I am on a "shampoo roll here"  Roll Eyes

Hey there, Debr.  Smiley

Glad to hear that you're liking Pantene. Are you using the Silver Expressions S&C? I haven't tried anything from the Expressions line, but several members here have raved about it. My mother uses Red Expressions and my paternal grandmother used the dark Brunette Expressions before she passed. So maybe the need for Pantene is genetic for me.  Grin

I just started using Ice Shine S&C today and it has become my new favourite.  Cheesy  After having tried almost every brand from A - Z, I've permanently settled on Pantene. Not to say that I won't still try new things on occasion, but I know what works best for me. I encourage you to do the same. Try this, try that, try it all. It's just shampoo - and you'll definitely have some notable experiences along the way.  Wink

I fear I am having to face the fact that I need to trim a few inches of of my butt-length hair as well O.O and I like to NEVER put scizzors near my hair /cry.  I use Pantene as my fallback shampoo and conditioner, but Its not great for my hair and Im trying to find something that is, theres too many options, I wish my hair could just speak up and say, "you know Tara, Id really like it if you would just use this and this" and that woul dbe the end of it!

Shampoo and conditioner... I'm still trying to find one that doesn't make my hair go ick.

I was justing Herbal Esseses, but then I started to find that it wasn't cleaning my hair, but rather leaving a nice gunky feeling behind.

Recently I bought an organic brand of shampoo and conditioner, A'kin (or something like that).  I used it last night and it left my hair feeling so clean and soft Smiley so I'll probably keep trying that brand and see how it goes.  Will probably only use the other brand once in a while.

But sadly... the cutting is imminent, I need to cut some of the dry blond chunks off next week Sad

SmileyI love Herbal Essences replenishing shampoo and have used it for a long time. I recently have tried some organic shampoos to get away from the sulfates. I tried jason and Avalon shampoos. They worked ok but the smell was not the greatest. Im switching between these 3 right now. I only use Sunsilk conditioner though, the one in blue bottle.

I tried sunsilk for one bottle's worth, It wasnt bad actually, herbal essence does nothing good for me however, and my fallback is always Pantene.

I've changed my hair care routine recently, thought I'd re-add:

I'm now using sulfate free shampoos ONLY.. really like Burt's Bee's raspberry and soy shampoo, and the grapefruit and sugarbeet version.  I tried Avalon Organic's Lavendar shampoo, but it makes my hair sticky and gets greasy fast.

As for conditioner, I do like the Burt's Bee's versions, plus I like the Avalon Lavendar, and Nature's Gate herbal condish.  I can use the herbal conditioners for deep treatments; they don't have any alcohol in them so they don't dry out my hair and make it frizz, but I do need a little silicone product to make detangling easier.  My final condition is usually with a -cone product, a little dallop of John Frieda's redhead condish does wonders.

Oh yes, I still love Alberto VO5 too.  I mainly love the one for fullness and body with collegan.  I remember when I was in high school  back in the 1980s I used to Alberto VO5 all of the time, and I hardly ever had any split ends.  So, it did my hair really good.
