Merry Christmas indeed. My family is all going different directions for Christmas so we weren't sure when we were all going to open the presents to each other. So, we did it last night. Christmas early!!  Cheesy
My sister gave me Jojoba oil for my hair! I'm so excited. I had been too lazy and didn't want to go find it, so I asked for it for Christmas. I tried it this morning and it is much less heavy than olive oil. We will see what my hair does with it. My ends are dry, so the plan is to get them healthy again. Those of you who use jojoba oil, do you use it while the hair is dry or wet?
I did a little s & d yesterday. There are always split ends to find and attack. There's no end. I hope to do in consistently enough that I can only find a few at a time. Wish me luck.
Merry Christmas
and a happy New Year.

Early Christmas!  Fun!!  Cheesy  I've had late Christmases (last year we waited until New Year's), but never an early one.

How wonderful that your sister gave you jojoba oil!  Grin I love my jojoba oil.  I use it on both wet and dry hair.  During the winter, I will put a bit of jojoba oil on my wet hair after shampooing.  Then most nights, before bed, I will also apply a small amount of oil - mostly on the ends.  By morning, my hair is soft and shiny.

Good luck with your S&D.

Merry Christmas!

I hope you enjoy the oil. But now you should ask your sister if it comes with a refill Wink Grin

Jojoba is going wonderfully! It's making a nice difference.  Cheesy

I've also discovered something else: For the longest time, I was under the impression that my hair would do awful things if not combed after a wash. I was afraid to try it. My future sister-in-law lets her hair dry before brushing it, but I though it only worked for her because her hair is very straight. But, the other day, I decided to try it. What the heck, I'm not going anywhere, so why not? It worked wonders.  Cheesy It dried and looked just like normal and I don't have to stress anymore about combing my hair and creating more split ends while its wet. My new way of doing it: letting it dry on it's own, then combing it with my fingers to remove any tangles. I hope this will cause my whole split end thing to decrease some.

Still looking for wedding hair ideas. I'm thinking half up and half down, showing off my length. The half up part is the part I'm not sure about. I don't know what I want to do exactly. I'll keep looking and thinking. I've got a while to think still, but it's good to start now.

Hair growth is coming along. I think I will reach my goal length or close to it by the wedding. That would be nice.

School starts next week. Not too excited, but the sooner it starts the sooner it's done!   Grin I graduate in May!

Didn't wake up on time. Arrrggg. Getting up really early (5 am) is too early to have to get up and take a shower. Sad Sigh. Because school is so far away, I have to wake up that early to wash up. So, slept in a half an hour and didn't get a shower. That's ok. I just brushed in and oiled the ends (they needed it anyway) and put them in two braids. Up and out of the way. Maybe I'll wash when I get home.
Stressing about the wedding. I cried on my fiance for about 20 min. last night.  Cry Poor guy. He's such a trooper. PMS is such a wonderful thing.  Tongue *sigh.
My mom has kind of taken over the job of wedding coordinator (however you spell that) and it's a load off my mind. I'm not a detail person and lots of things needing to be done and little things not to forget bogs me down and makes me cry. My mom loves that kind of thing, so shes taking over. She and my fiance can plan away and just come to me for the decisions I have to make. It's a relief.

Yep, she's wonderful.

I can't describe how much nicer my hair feels now that I just let it dry on its own and use a little bit of jojoba oil every once in a while. It takes a little longer to dry, but that's ok because I love the results. Thank goodness for LL and the things I've learned here! It's amazing.
I should update my way of doing things now that's it's changed so much:
  • I use Suave conditioner as the first C on the length
  • Suave shampoo on the top
  • V05 conditioner as the second C on the length which I leave in to soak for a little bit
  • I put in a little of the V05 on the very ends that I don't wash out, but leave it in
  • Let it dry on its own
  • Use jojoba on the ends when it's dry and feels like it needs it
  • Comb only when it's dry, like the day or two after I wash it, the day I wash it or the day after that, I finger comb (the curls keep better that way)
  • I wash every 3 or 4 days
  • I keep it down the first day or 2 then put it up in a braid or a bun to keep it out of the way
That's all I can think of for now. My hair is still growing slowly, but I can feel it getting longer. When I'm sad at the slow growth, I look at my future sister-in-law and admire her classic (to her bottom) length hair and imagine when mine will be like that.

*Sigh, why is hair so hard to work with sometimes?!
I'm having issues. I washed it on Monday and here it is Wednesday and it's gross. It's greasy and clumpy. The ends are dry and have tons of split ends! AArrrggg  Angry

Yesterday, a friend of mine was watching me play S&D and took out her pocket scissors (which she had for her own S&D) and joined me in my search for split ends in my hair.  Cheesy We worked on my hair for about an hour. It was fun. So, made a little progress on the ends and have vowed to use jojoba oil every evening or so.

I think I'm going to use a ACV rinse the next time I wash. It's been a while and I'm due for one.

I'm having issues with school. I have a PE class at the beginning of the day Monday-Thursday. This means it's pointless to take a shower before I go to school. I have to take a shower at school. And as a cherry on top, I can't wash my hair on Tuesdays or Thursdays because later in the day I have a cooking class and we have to keep our hair up and out of the way. I hate putting my hair up after washing it. It smashes the curls.  Sad I guess I'll just wash on Mondays and Wednesdays or maybe I'll try the hold-the-length-out-and-wash-the-scalp thing. Hmmmm. We'll see.

Didn't have pe today, so I took a proper shower this morning. Used white vinegar, but i don't know how it will turn out. My scalp was gross and I'm trying to fix it. It's still drying so I can't tell yet. The curls look fine and I almost don't smell the vinegar anymore.  Cheesy It will be gone once I'm fully dry. It took a while to rinse out the vinegar. I wonder why. Is there a difference between white and apple cider vinegar in what it does to your hair?
Anyway, having future in-law problems  Tongue: they tell us they don't even want to discuss a date for the wedding until John finds another job. The job he has now does not make enough money to support a family and has no upward mobility. So, he's been looking for another job. But, the problem is my mom wants to set the date as soon as possible (like this week) and John's mom won't even consider looking at her calendar to see if the date we are considering would work for their family until John has a good paying job.
My parents think John should just set the date despite what his parents think, but what John is struggling with is wanting his parents to be proud of him and he feels if he goes along with their wishes, they will be proud of him. It's hard for both of us. We're going to ask my parents to hold off and be patient until the end of the month. If John has not found a new job by then, we will have to talk about it again. sigh, why are some people so unreasonable.  Cry

Roll Eyes ummmm - this is YOUR wedding - right?  I think the two of you should decide when to pick the date - not your mothers.  Granted, you will want their involvement, but they should not be the ones setting/picking the date.

Having yourselves in a position to support yourselves is an excellent objective - good luck on the job hunting!

Thanks for the support, BB! Smiley
Life is going well. My man has taken the week off to look for jobs and has been doing well. Had an interview today. Don't know how it went, but I'm sure he did fine. I don't know if it is the kind of job he's looking for though. I have no doubt that he will find one that fits him perfectly and provide what we need.
Hair is behaving better. The ends are still going back and forth between dry and brittle and only ok. I've been using oil and s&d is my new passtime (much to my professors' dismay, I'm sure  Wink) I've asked for little scissors for my birthday which is Sunday. That should be helpful. Everything up until the last "3 is soft and healthy. I'm trying to avoid cutting it.
School is keeping me busy, but I'm having fun. Once the 28th is out of the way, I'll feel better about it though. I am directing my own one act show and it's getting close and I have so much to do and so little time. *sigh, se la vie (don't think that's how that's spelled) so goes the live of a theatre person: last minute details and chores. It keeps me out of trouble.  Cheesy

Weird french words. Smiley
Thanks, Angel Spun. Yeah, theatre people are....weird and one of a kind. I've been told I don't fit the theatre major mold, but I enjoy it anyway.

Still trying to get my hair ends to behave and stop being so dry. Grrrr. Tried putting conditionar in the ends overnight. That didn't seem to have a bad or good effect. Ends are getting slowly softer but still kind of dry and brittle. That may be the split ends.

My muscles are tired. I'm taking a tennis class which is fun, but I'm using muscles that aren't used to being so worked. My fiance likes tennis and I'm awful so I'm trying to improve.
