Well, since everyone's hair is different, all I can offer you is my own experience.  I also had hair that would go super greasy if I didn't wash it every single day.  I decided to try CO washing, and my hair LOVED it.  After a couple of weeks, I even found that I could skip a day and only CO every other day.  I suspect because I wasn't stripping off the natural oils with shampoo every day, and my scalp had therefore cut down on oil production.

After a few months of CO, my hair went through another transition, and became WAY overconditioned.  I was using a fairly heavy conditioner, so that may have contributed.  However, I decided to switch to COW-C about a week ago, which is working terrific for me.  I am still washing every other day, although I'm trying to get to where I can wash every third day.

It's all a work in progress, and, like me, you may find that your hair periodically changes it's mind about what it likes.  Keeps us on our toes!

So my suggestion is to go ahead and give CO a try.  It can't hurt, and it might help.  Good luck!

Sometimes when you wash too frequently or with too strong of shampoo, it will casue your scalp to over produce sebum (oil).  Try this first... dilute your shampoo (half and half) with water.  Then try CWC for a while instead of jumping right into CO.  See if your scalp stops being so oily with the diluted shampoo.  Hope that helps.

CWC refers to a "washing" routine that starts with conditioning the hair, then shampooing, then conditioning again.
