Homecoming
Oct 15th, 2005 at 9:21pm

As I sit here reading LL I am smelling the wafting odiferous waves of cologne from 2 teenage boys getting ready to go to Homecoming.  Whew!!  In the interests of self-preservation I'll have to send them outside.  Thankfully I'm not chauffeuring them tonight Lips Sealed

They're gone -- poor chauffeur!

It doesn't seem fair, the guys pull out Dad's or a brother's old suit, tie, and scrounge in the closet for a dress shirt and shoes, have Mom take the business end of the iron to it and call it good.  Roll Eyes  The girls show up in new dresses, shoes, having spent the better part of the afternoon at the hairdressers' and wonder if they've made the grade Undecided

Sure glad I have boys Wink

lol. After reading that, it seems like Homecoming is rather "big" compared to what it's like in my state. Over here I think the social event high school students really dress up for is the prom.

Juri, they really dress up for both.

At prom time, we had both boys and girls getting ready at our place. What a circus!

The girls plan for a week and the boys 'just show up'...

Actually is wasn't all that bad once all the girls stopped screaming at each other. Limo only had to make one stop at our driveway and it was full.

Awwww, how sweet.  Watching the kiddies play grown up.   Grin

You were a lucky parent when you get to have them all at your house.  You at least got to see them!  We didn't always get to see them all dressed up.

lol. That sounds like fun--except for the part about a bunch of teenaged girls screaming.

Boy that's so different from homecoming at my high school. There was a dance in the school's cafeteria, but most people didn't go. Maybe it's more popular now, but most of us only got excited about the homecoming parade and "spirit week".

Yep, they all cleaned up pretty good  Wink

When Giggles, Pie, and Possum (their adopted names from me)got together screaming was a natural occurence. A minute later, they were embracing. Sometimes, the mood swings drove me nuts!  ???
