Nice n Easy
Dec 22nd, 2005 at 7:23pm

I'm wondering if it's ok to use Nice an Easy to darken my highlighted hair for one time use? I'm trying to grow out my hair and return to its healthy state after small trims as my hair grows. My hair's naturally dark. My hair's already near bra strap length. Have anyone tried Nice n Easy in Natural Soft Black? Is it dark black or a light black?

Nice n Easy is an older box color line.  My mother used to use it to cover her grey -- with good results.  I don't know how damaging it is on the hair, though.  The color "soft black" is intimidating to me.

Check that Nice n Easy doesn't have any metallics in it.  If it does, do not use it.  You will not be able to lift the dye out easily if it does.  Sometimes the best thing to do is grow the processed hair out.  I'm doing it, and a few other ladies are, as well.

Hope this helps.

Hi Aerynna,
I agree with Panpeus, growing it out is better.  I myself am growing out nice and easy soft black Tongue.  I have about three inches left.  Save your self the trouble and let it grow out. Smiley What I do when I get annoyed with my black ends is put my hair in a sock bun, thus hiding the ends.

I think I would go to a salon to have any haircolor put over highlighted(bleached) hair.  The problem is that the lighter colored hair- being so much more porous, will "grab"the color quicker than the virgin hair so you might wind up with an unwanted color result. (darker on ends than roots). It will be more expensive for sure- but you would probably be happier with the results in the long run.  Otherwise, you  could just grow it out and trim it off little by little.  I know that's hard to do- I have the same problem(bleached ends brown roots)
