I pm'ed BB yesterday about adding my hairstick collection to the new Collections board. Since my collection has somehow grown to quite big, I left it up to Admin team to consider how many pictures post. When I checked the collection board today...wow! 47 pairs were posted! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  I'm so happy to be able to share my treasures with everyone. Thank you, mod/Admin team! Kiss

Weather has cooled down a bit and we've even had a few rain showers yesterday and today. Which means that I've been much more comfortable (except for my feet- they got worse when I wore shoes to Helsinki yesterday...but I can only blame my own stupidity for that). I've been playing with my hairsticks. I missed them! Right now I'm wearing Twisted Springtime pair that matches perfectly with my new summer skirt.

House: Our current home has now been sold, to T's father. The deal on the new house is done on Monday, so we'll be "homeless" over the Midsummer weekend. Eep! We have decided to start packing right when the deal is done hoping that it will spare us a little during the actual moving week.
It also seems that I will lose my internet connection for a while (could be as long as a month!). I still have internet access from my workroom, but I doubt I'll visit there more than a couple of times a week.

Still waiting for Ficcares...

Yes, your collection is quite impressive.  Congratulations.

And congrats on the new house.  Being "homeless" - oh my!  At least you know it won't be for too long.  And better your situation than one hubby and I were in many years ago - owning TWO homes (and paying mortgages).  We had moved from Iowa to Minnesota and were unable to sell our house.  After 3 years, it FINALLY sold - on contract with us holding the contract.  So for another 5 years we still had 2 mortgages, but at least we had income to cover one.

Being without internet  Shocked.  Oh my!  We will miss your daily musings.  Be sure to keep us upto date when you can.

I agree- the whole process of buying a house has gone very smoothly. T's father is one who deserves a big thanks for it, as he made selling this house so easy for us. When the deal is done (tomorrow!), I will start also looking to the internet issue. But, even in the worst case I will be able to check here occassionally- there's no threat of becoming completely cut off this place. Smiley

Life: We've been celebrating Midsummer peacefully at home: on Midsummer Eve we were barbecuing with friends, and in generally we've tried to relax to our best ability- if tomorrow goes as planned, it will be a long while until the next opportunity!

Hair: On Saturday, we went to sauna as usually, and I did Snowy's Deep Moisture treatment. It's impossible to do too many of those! This morning I went exercising and rinsed my hair afterwards. I'm starting to think that extra rinsing makes it look and feel cleaner for a little longer. I still have no idea of what to do with all this rinsing when fall comes...
Weather -the thing that has the biggest affect on how I decide to wear my hair for the day- has been nice, and I've worn buns with pretty hairsticks to my heart's content. Right now I'm wearing Gilded Denim Majestix pair.
I still haven't made up my mind on what hairtoys to wear to a wedding we're attending on July 15th. Everything else is in order: gift, my dress, shoes etc. It will be a long day, so I'm probably going to wear just a nice low bun. But will it be with hairsticks or a Ficcares, that's the question...

I agree!  Grin  Thanx for sharing the recipe. Snowy's Treatments are the only ones I do these days.

If it's a daytime wedding, Ficcares. If it's an evening wedding, hairsticks.  Wink

Hmm, the wedding begins at early afternoon and lasts until about midnight. It must then mean that I need to wear both a Ficcare and a pair of hairsticks! Grin One of the nicest things about long hair is that there are so many variations and so many hairtoys to wear- it's never boring or really ugly.

Life:Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
WOOHOO!THE HOUSE IS OURS!!!
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Deal is sealed, and now there's just the physical work left to do!

Hair: Rinsed after this morning's exercise. Now it looks and feels good, in a bun with Butterfly Meadow hairsticks that fit the day's joyous moods. My decision to postpone the trim stays still, though I doubt that I will be able to pay much attention to my hair during the moving period. When the dust has settled (some time in August, in case we won't be completely overwhelmed by harvest activities), I'll consider a mini trim.

Still no Ficcares- many people in Europe have already received theirs, and it seems that I'm one of the last to get their clips. I know they will be totally worth the wait (even more so since this GO got a very generous discount)...but I'm certainly getting impatient. I'm glad I have all this other stuff going on in my life- otherwise I'd stalk the postman all day. Tongue

Woohoo! Congrats on the house, Galadriel!

An all day wedding, eh? hehe I'd probably just go with the hairsticks. Or whatever matched my outfit best.
The last wedding I attended was a similar deal. It started around 2 pm and went until about 9 pm. I just twisted my hair up & pinned it in back with bobby pins, letting the ends fall loose & do whatever they wanted. I had about 2 seconds to "do" my hair, so that worked. Hopefully yours will look better.  Wink

Thank you, everyone! Smiley

Today has been a rainy day, so I've spent it at home reading. Since I switched my research subject, I've got a huge amount of reading to do before I can even begin any writing work with my Doctor's Thesis. Luckily, most of it can be done at home!

Hair: While shopping for more XZ deep conditioner, I noticed oil treatment of the same brand. The ingredients list looked promising so I bought it- I'm planning to test it this weekend. I'm going to pamper my hair while I still can- somehow I see a season of "benign neglect" looming in near future. Wink
I've also now ordered some Sweet Success oil from Moonchaser. I hope it will arrive before we move.
This morning I had some nice braid waves, and so I started the day with a low ponytail. When I started to cook, I switched it to a bun with Amish pins. A minimalist day.

hee hee.. yes, when you move, hair seems to be the last thing on your mind..  Lips Sealed

That's okay!  This may give you the chance to deep condition!  Just oil up your hair and throw it in a bun for the couple of days you're moving, and cover your hair with a neckerchief.... Tada!  Moving day hair...  Wink

Congrats on the new house!

Ooh, your idea of "moving day hair" sounds absolutely great, novusfemina! I think I'll try that- I had planned on wearing a scarf bun or a scarf cap for hardest working days anyway, so it would indeed be the perfect time for some oiling!

Still no Ficcares here- they're making their way to Europe, but slooooowly! New Mexico USPS mail is just as bad as Birdie warned.
I'm still obsessing about my thin ends. My hair has grown visibly during June, so I'm hoping that part of my thin ends misery is just some hairs growing faster than others. I'm still determined to resist scissors this time though- thin ends or no thin ends, I want to make it to the waist ASAP! My ends are very healthy and the hemline is neat, so I'm going to just rant about my ends here in my journal  Tongue in hopes that a little verbal venting will keep me strong in my resolution to stay away from scissors.

Yesterday was my washing day, but since we went clubbing in the evening (there's a blues festival in the town for this week), I had to wash it this morning again.
I saw two ladies with gorgeous long hair at the club- both had their hair around hip length. I wore my hair down, and was happy to notice that on my long hair journey I've already made it to the land of "unusually long hair" Grin . From here, it's just a couple of years of growing until I can join the "freakishly long hair" club.
Even after washing and air drying, my hair some cigarette smell left in it, so I spritzed it with rose water. Now it is in a bun decorated with Rare Butterfly GemStix, and I'm hoping that its smell will improve towards the evening. On days like today, I hope that the new smoking legislation that Parliament is working on will end up prohibiting smoking in restaurants altogether. Lips Sealed
