Hello from Michigan
Jan 19th, 2006 at 11:04pm

Hello everyone!!

Thank you so much for everyone's posts!!  Thanks to all of you my hair has transformed over the past month.  It was about bra-strap length but the bottom half was dry-looking.  Now it looks much better.  At the first of the year it measured 27".  I will work on posting pics in "Show Off Your Locks."

Thanks again!

Thank you for the warm welcomes!

I just realized I didn't answer all the questions suggested, and I'd love to so I will:

How long is your hair?  This one I did answer, but it's 27 inches.  I would like to have 36, so I'll take good care of it and see how it goes.

What color is your hair?  My hair is very dark brown.  I have a little gray, and I just don't feel ready to surrender to it yet, so I color it with Herbatint, which I order from health food stores.  They claim it won't damage hair, and it doesn't seem to me to be too bad.

Is your hair straight/curly/wavy?  It is a fairly wavy and a bit fine, I think.  There is no curl, just some wave.

Do you have favorite products to use on your hair?  I use Aubrey Organics GBP shampoo and conditioner.  I tuck my hair into a shower cap while conditioning, and I shampoo the roots only, just letting a little trickle down.  I am still on my first bottle of each, but I love the results and I find the smell of the conditioner absolutely intoxicating!  I oil lightly with Jojoba every night and right after washing.  I find an ACV rinse at the end of my shower makes my hair and scalp feel great and improves waves, and I use aloe also after washing.  See -- I've been paying attention!!!  I use some other products lightly for styling, but nothing to rave about.

What are your favorite hair accessories?  Small non-damaging clips and barettes to pin my hair back off my face, a set of hair sticks, and scrunchies for sleeping.

I'm working on the pictures.  I have one after using my Caruso curlers, but I also want another with the natural wave, and I'm washing tomorrow morning, so hopefully I'll get them posted tomorrow.

Thanks again everyone!

Hi.  Welcome to Long Locks!  I used to live in Grand Rapids.  My parents and sister + her family live in Hastings.  Where abouts are you?

Looking forward to your pictures...

Hi Sakina!

The Grand Rapids area is very nice.  My husband's cousin used to live in Hastings, too.

I live near Detroit, in the 9 mile area on the east side.

Hey!  I lived in MI for 15 years, which was 15 years too long for me.  Not enough sun!!!  I live in AZ now, don't miss MI for a nanosecond!

Glad you've joined us here on LL  Grin
