Hullo All! :D
Dec 29th, 2005 at 3:21pm

This is just a little thread to introduce myself and meet you all!   Cheesy

I come from Wales in the UK, and I'm 19 years old. I used to have short hair as a little girl, so now I'm all for long hair! I think its absolutely beautiful...whenever I see someone with long hair, I can't help but stare... I think its lovely!!! hehe So if you have long hair, and you're getting a complex because someone is staring at you....it's probably me! I love admiring and playing with long hair.
To answer some routine questions:

How long is your hair? My hair reaches down to my waist...about 26-27inches long.
What color is your hair? That's a hard one! Its not red....but it has a lot of ginger in it with natural blonde, so I think strawberry blonde is the most accurate!
Is your hair straight/curly/wavy? My hair is very thick....when its cut short its straight, but being long, it has a definite "kink" in it. I will try and get a photograph of it on the web for anyone who would like to see it.
Do you have favorite products to use on your hair? Actually I don't use any! I wash it with Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner, which really suits my hair, and I love the smell!
What are your favorite hair accessories? I'm really fond of cute little hair clips, like the twist-in-spiral flowers and butterfly-clips. I could spend a fortune in Claire's Accesories!

As you may have guessed from the nickname, I love the hairstyles that the women from Star Wars wear...Leia and Padme, and I like to try and imitate them as best as possible. My favourite is the Leia Cloud-City hairstyle, because it doesn't scream "Star Wars!"

Greetings, Carrie-Leia.

I knew before I even read your introduction that you were a Star Wars fan.  Wink

It's always nice to see a fellow Celt join the boards. I have a little Welsh blood myself (but mostly Irish). My hair is close to the same colour as you described for yourself, although mine is light brown with a definite red tint. Something tells me that you probably have fair skin also.  Wink

You should definitely post a few pics of your hair. It sounds awesome!!

God bless and happy growing.  Smiley

Welcome to LL, CL!

Yeah, I can spend quite a bit at Claire's, too.  Maybe we should form a support group for that. Wink

Nice to meet you all!  Cheesy

Yeah I love Claires....I can spend a fortune in there! My brother hates it when I go shopping there, cos I take soooo long! The only thing I gotta be careful with, is the little twist-in gems and flowers on little spiral wires that  go in your hair....I find that when I take them out at night, I sometimes end up pulling some of my hair out with it, because my hair gets tangled in the spiral wire. Anyone else find this?  ???

I wore those hair spirals for homecoming when I was in high school.  I had the same thing happen to me.  Also, the velcro-like hair gems are hard to get out, too.

Those spiral gems are really fun-I have a bunch!  When I'm removing the wire, I twist in the opposite direction of putting them in and then as I slowly begin to take it away from the scalp I use my other hand to gently pull off any strands caught on it -drawing the individual hairs in the other direction.  Hope that made sense!

I like Claire's fancy jewelry, too.  Its difficult to find rhinestones, they have the best selection around prom time.

Ah thank you for the tips on the spiral gems! I have been trying to untwist them in the opposite direction, but sometimes even then individual hair gets tangled somehow underneath the lil flower or gem bit! So when it gets like that, I normally pull them down the length of my hair, and sometimes that does work.
But they do look so purdy in!  Roll Eyes hehe
