Hello!
Aug 25th, 2006 at 5:22am

I'm new here and I've been lurking around here for a little while. You seem to be such a nice and friendly group, I can't wait to get to know you all! Smiley

I've been "attempting" to grow my hair out for about 2 years now but instead, I've been cutting regularly, trying to get rid of unauthorized layers that a stylist put in my hair.  Anyway, my hair is pretty much all the same length now so, I'm getting serious about really growing it out.  With trimming so frequently, I've found it difficult to shake the scissors so, I've been lurking around on different hair sites for inspiration.  My ultimate goal isn't too ambitious, I just want an extra 4 or 5 inches of length. I've kept my hair the same length for the past 3 years so longer would be a nice change.

Heres a little more hair history...

How long is your hair? Dry 24" Wet 25"
What color is your hair? Dark Brown w/Lighter  Pieces In The Front From The Sun.
Is your hair straight/curly/wavy? Lightly Relaxed, Naturally Kinky 4a
Do you have favorite products to use on your hair?  Moisturizing Shampoo, Protein Conditioner, A Creamy Leave In Conditioner, Hot Oil, Hair Perfume Spritz.
What are your favorite hair accessories?  Silk or Satin Hair Scrunchies, Hair Sticks and Silver/Jeweled Hair Barrets.

Welcome!  Glad you decided to introduce yourself to us.

Sorry to hear you are struggling with growing out unwanted layers.  But once you get it all one length, you can leave the scissors behind and let it grow, grow, grow!

You've come to the right place for help in growing out your hair.  I look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome!

Your hair sounds very pretty and quite long!  Its longer than mine at least!!  Be patient and remember that trims are not the enemy, you could just spread them out really far apart.

Greetings and welcome, La_Diosa. Cool avatar.  Wink

Congrats on your current length. A full 2 feet is my short-term goal. Hope you can grow out those layers and add some gorgeous new length.

Happy growing!  Smiley

Sakina:  Yes, you're correct!  I'm currently teaching myself Spanish so, mine isn't that great either, but I'm working on it. Smiley

Angel Spun:  Happy growing to you too and thanks for the compliment on my avatar, I love candles!

Welcome La Diosa!

Your hair sounds great!!  I hope you will post a picture Smiley!

Sorry about your "unauthorized" layers -- that's awful, and gosh, the time it takes to undo it!!  Well, at least it's just about over, and you can start on the length.

I once had an "unauthorized" color.  At least I could cover that.
