More pictures!

...

This is what I wore yesterday. A knot bun with Pink Ribbon pair. I was having a good hair day- usually my buns are a bit more "compact".

...

And this is the new member of our family, Pyry the Rabbit. He isn't too much disturbed by all the big changes in his life. Instead, he seems just to accept everything without analyzing it too deeply.

...

This is from our new terrace: summer flowers in pots and a bird bath. We haven't seen any birds bathing yet, but remain hopeful.

That is the most adorable bunny! *pets Pyry* and I love those sticks... a nice feminine subtle pink, rather than a "Hi, I'm pink, Going to take over the world with brightness now" pink.  the pale color looks gorgeous with your hair.

Pyry thanks everyone! Smiley He is a really cute little fellow. We're so happy we got him, and I think that Lumi also likes him.

Kiraela: I don't like loud pinks -the type that is so common in cheap hairtoys- either. But, Susan only uses nice, beautiful hues in her hairsticks! Even her darker pinks are sophisticated and beautiful. This is a wonderful pair- definitely favorite material! I am planning to have T take pictures of some of my other swappings during the weekend.

I got work! The local orchard has hired me for apple tree pruning job, starting tomorrow. It doesn't pay much, but in this region, it's so good to get even a little garden work experience under one's belt. Here that is much better appreciated that an university degree with no direct practical applicability. And a small income is still income. Besides, I get to work outdoors instead of being stuffed into some cramped, ugly office. The employers seem like nice people as well, so I am quite happy. The job will end at the same time when T's summer vacation starts, so maybe we'll get to rest together for a couple of weeks. Until then, however, I expect to be both busy and pretty tired, so I don't know how much I'll be around.

Hair: Another nice thing about my summer job is, that it does not require me to modify my appearance or style in any way. Simple dress & apron is perfectly good for working in an orchard (nowadays I find it to be the most comfortable gear even for doing hard and dirty work like digging and turning soil...my old work pants lie unused in the cupboard, just like everything else). And what else I have been wearing style-wise but buns under scarves and snoods? So, no need for changes in that department. All will be well as long as I keep checking the weather forecasts and pack appropriatedly.

I just saw the photos!
wow!
Definitely favourite material Galadriel.  Wink

Also your length is great! What a beautiful hair colour you have. It's fair but not yellowish blonde, I love it. I know most ladies put their hair up for protection etc but I do think lovely hair should be let loose occasionally for our and our SO's enjoyment.

Hey!! Congrats on the job too! Smiley

Well, two workdays and a weekend are almost behind. The work is ok for a temporary job. The downsides are pretty obvious, but I'm also well aware that it has its good sides as well. While  working outdoors in pouring rain (we had that on Thursday) can be quite miserable, on the other hand the air is fresh and I'm enjoying beautiful landscapes.

joeydog: A snood is a headcovering, a bit like a cap, but hanging down more. You put your hair inside it, and it's in a "pouch". Most snoods you see on people are crocheted, but there are also cloth snoods (like the ones I have).

greek_lady: Thanks for compliments! Cheesy I have to say though- I'm really bad in keeping my hair down, even though DH likes it. I'm so accustomed in having it safely tucked away. It's so fine and flyaway in anyway that if I leave it down, it's soon a mess. But yeah- you are right. I should try to wear it down even for an evening at home once a month. Maybe that could become my next goal...hmm...

Hair&Life: Life during the past few days has been very busy, and the fact that I have been very tired after a day at work hasn't made it any easier. No time for hair whatsoever. Luckily, my hair doesn't need much time or thoughts.
In the morning, I just wrap it in a bun, cover it with the first thing that I can find, and that's it for the whole day.
I am still trying to get accustomed to the idea, that I will have to trim it again soon. Now that I'm maintaining instead of trying to gain new length, I am planning to have tiny trims every month. Just like the stylist ordered! Wink It'll be interesting to see, whether or not my ends have improved by the end of the year.

You're welcome  Smiley . Snoods aren't really that well known- I first heard of them on a longhair board! Since then, I have tried both knitted snoods (didn't like) and cloth snoods (liked!).

Past couple of days have been nice and sunny, and for me, it has meant wearing my straw hat all day. It's indispensable thing in field work, but of course, like all regular hats, getting it to fit well is challenging for a bun-wearer. Since I don't want (and often can't) fiddle much with my hair during the day, my solution has been a firm French braid with the tail part coiled into a low, braided bun. This style has served me and my slippery hair well. Extra slippery hair, in fact, since I remembered to put a hair mask when I last washed it.¨

Today I received lots of goodies from mail. My sewing patterns (that I had already forgotten) arrived, and also my BAF order arrived. BAF is really quick! I'm now a happy owner of Little 7's Nines (10g, size M), and a pair of golden floral twist earrings in 10g. The latter design is the same that I already have in 14 g. 10g looks pretty much the same, though it is slightly sturdier and looks IMO slightly better. Nines are beautiful, and also for them, 10g is a wonderful size- they look very balanced, graceful but still unusual. I wanted a bit bigger earring from Little Seven for special occassions, and here I have it. The style is beautiful, and though the earrings look huge to me, they are very comfortable to wear- not as heavy as some of my old dangly earrings. Now, I just need that right occassion to wear my earring and stun everyone with its gorgeousness... As usual, I also got all sorts of free stuff from BAF, like emu oil, a pair of steel plugs and clear o-rings. A fun little shopping! Now, where's my next job..? Tongue

the earrings sound beautiful. I love wearing a dangling earrings (not too long, just a little under my ear lobe).

My three day Midsummer break/long weekend

Friday (free day from work, Midsummer Eve): Sleeping. Doing only absolutely necessary tasks, then more sleeping. My work is really starting to exhaust me. Long days on the field are hard work (though I still occassionally even enjoy it!).

Saturday: I climb up from my sarcophagus, feel myself again and go have a fun day at home with T. Good food, Stargates from DVD, and lots of gardening. I weeded our veggie patch and mulched some new spots in it. It's looking really pro at the moment- I'm very proud! Our salads are now ripe, and they are super delicious. I wasn't expecting that they would be so spectacular. After all, salad is sold fresh in pots here, and I thought it's pretty fresh and good...but now I know also that no matter what it looks, it's no match to the homegrown thing.

Sunday (today): Not so fun day. We get up early after killing yet another wasp that has wandered to our bedroom. After that, it's housework, chores, and more housework. I'm on a break while doing this- after that, I have still lots to do. But, hopefully, I will have only a few chores during the working week.

Hair & Style: No changes there. Usual wash on Saturday, and I have rinsed it every day with plain water. I can't wait until our chamomilles have grown and I can start making chamomille rinses... Style-wise it's just more of the same: bun secured with Amish pins, usually under nearest or handiest covering I can find. I feel bored with buns and headcoverings, but it's not like there are terribly many practical options. Maybe when my job ends, and I keep a real holiday of a couple of weeks, I can play with my hair...
I put my Nine earring on on Thursday...and I haven't taken it off since. I still think it's big, but it's just too pretty. Makes me feel special and beautiful. Besides, it's a zillion times more comfortable than its size suggests. It is light, and it's also super comfortable to sleep with. I just love it! I'm going to have to take a picture of it for you...whenever I have the time.

Butterflies: During this weekend, I have spotted two new species from our garden, so our species total is now 8. One of the species seems to be quite common and happy in our garden- spotting the other was a really close call. I got only one good look of it, and had to do some very careful work in determining the species.

joeydog: I don't have a recipe yet! I am planning to do some kind of infusion and perhaps add oils or honey to it. It seems that I am going to have plenty of chamomille, so I am able to experiment. I will keep you posted!  Smiley

The mail seems to have really slowed down for the summer. Yesterday I was able to make it to the post office before it closed. I got my last hairtoy swap package, as well as some fabric that had been sent in 13.4. Yes, that's in April! I think that's some sort of record- even economy shipments should not take so long. But, at least it's here now.
From the hairtoy package I got a wonderful pair of Quattro hairsticks. They look so special, and different from all my other hairsticks (and that's saying something!). I love them. I also got some extra goodies, like fabulous all natural lip balm and a satin sleep sock. So, it was a wonderful swap and now I feel wonderfully pampered! Cheesy
T has promised to trim my hair later this week. It seems to have grown so much this month. But the ends are still very thin, so they need to go. Besides, it's been a while since my last trim, and I really need to start the once a month trimming, if I intend to stick with my plan to maintain this length for a while.

I'm still working at the orchard- we're maybe halfway through or so. I rinse my hair every day when I come home and take a shower. My style of the day depends on what kind of headcovering I wear for the day. With straw hat it's french braid- something, otherwise one of my everyday buns.
