I've finally made it back!
Feb 9th, 2007 at 9:22pm

I am very happy to be back on the long locks site. I know you may not remember, but I lost some of my hair due to chemotherapy. I have good news to report that my hair is growing back WONDERFULLY! I can't put sticks in it yet because it's not long enough, but it is healthy and shiny due to the fact that I follow most of the advice I have received here on this site.
I just wish it were thicker though!
I do not use any types of hair spray or anything like that on my hair, I RARELY blow dry my hair, and I massage my scalp a little every day. It's wonderful to have my hair growing back now! I'm very excited.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any artisan who is handy enough to make some wooden combs. On this site, http://www.ojon.com, I see a comb that would be PERFECT for use in daily combing of the hair and massaging of the scalp.
If anyone has some ideas, please let me know.

Welcome back, jeepgrlnj.  Smiley

It's wonderful to hear that your hair is making a healthy return. May the hair gods bless you with lots of luck and length.

Are the daily scalp massages working for you?

Hi!   Glad to hear you are having healthy re-growth and shine!!!  You might want to visit Ric's site,www.combmaker.com for wooden combs.  Alot of us here are very pleased with his combs.  Good luck and hope to see you around the boards! Smiley

Thanks everyone!  Smiley

The scalp massages are wonderful for blood flow. My hair is still thin in some spots, especially around the temple area. I did have my hair cut very short in layers (that was about 2 years ago.) Now, it is all one length, except for my bangs, and it is ALMOST shoulder length.

I was going to try to let my bangs grow, but I don't know if I can do it. This seems to be the hardest part! I have this cow-lick where my bangs part toward the right, but the rest of the hair on my head parts in the middle.

I really want to start trying some of the herbal recipes I found on here, but I just can't seem to find the time to make everything.

My hair is very fine, so getting it to have any body at all is a challenge. I used a shampoo called Nioxin to help my hair grow back, and I tell you, I found it to be really effective (but PRICEY!)

Now that my hair is a little longer, and in good condition. I am hoping it will grow very fast this coming spring and summer. I may try to post a pic. I'm not sure how I will get my husband to take a picture of the back of my hair though! LOL!   Grin
He already thinks I'm the most paranoid person in the world about my hair!

I miss the days when I could French braid my hair and have the long braid falling down my back....  <sigh> Hopefully things will get growing SOON!!!

What do you feel about the moon phases, getting hair trimmed, etc.? Is there anything to this at all?

Welcome!  I'm glad your hair is growing back so nicely.  The thin areas will probably improve over time.

I have 2 of Ric's wooden combs- they are lovely combs.  You might also consider a horn comb. Heavenly Harvest has very nice and practical horn combs.
