Your most famous moment....
Feb 21st, 2007 at 8:08am

In our thread of most interesting (and boring) jobs, LaDiosa let it slip that she was once a hand model.  (She has had some interesting moments!!)

It seems most people have a "moment" in life where they are "famous".  When might that moment have been for you?

One memorable moment for me and my hubby, we almost didn't even know about!  Many years ago, when I still had a normal back, we used to go cross country skiing in Yellowstone National Park.  One year, a photographer approached us and asked to take our picture for a Sports Illustrated story he was doing on winter sports.  SURE! we said.  He took a picture of hubby taking a picture of me standing in front of some bison that were feeding on the grasses growing in a thermal area.  The bison were at least 200 yards away (you keep your distance from them!)  We watched and watched the SI mag to see when our picture would show up.  Never did.  But 5 years AFTER that picture was taken, a friend of ours was in an airport and went to buy a magazine to read...being a business man, he was checking out Time, Forbes, etc when he spotted the US World & News Report magazine.  Something looked familiar.... on the COVER was our picture!!!!  He bought ALL the magazines they had.  So for 1 week, we were on the cover of a magazine.  I could not believe he actually recognized us.  Our names were not mentioned, so no one really knew who we were, but we did!  Cheesy

I guess my best moments of fame are the three times my Christmas display was featured on the local news.

1996 (with interview)
1998
And I think '02 or 03 was the last time.

In '05, channel 4 had it on their website of cool Christmas pictures.

Now my neighbor has appeared in car magazines a couple times with his custom creations.

I have been in the background in about three news clips on our local news Roll Eyes

I have also won stuff on the radio and they used to use my first and last name but now they only use first names.

Well, sadly enough I think my most famous moment was the series of stories one of the local(danville, VA) TV stations did on our house fire... one right after, and two checkin up to see how we were at 6 and 12 months...

That reporter guy was cute, too...Tongue
