Whoo!  That was funny!  While I don't have that particular problem, I do have one cat, Jupiter, who likes to smell my scalp right at the hairline and then tries to lick my hair.  Its funny to watch 'cause the hair is 10" long or so and he has to pull his head waaaaay back to get to the end of my hair.  Sluurrrrrp!

To Bikerbraid and Sakina -that is too funny.  I love cats they have such unique personalities, and they are so cute you just want to mush them.  When I was younger my cat would also sniff my hair, and then she would try to eat it.  I think it was because of the hairspray since it made my hair crunchy( you know back then I would use half a bottle before I felt my hair was really done and when the wind blew it it all moved at once and then flopped right back down again-the good ole days)!Smiley

Go figure, of all the bizarre things that have ever happened to my hair, being attacked by cats has not been one of them.

The only funny cat/hair story from my lifetime that stands out was about 15 years ago, when my father was sitting on the couch, watching TV, and my cat was sitting on the back of the couch, behind his head. While my father watched his show, my cat began "grooming" his hair straight forward, until a large section of it, from about the middle of his scalp to his hairline, was slicked forward and plastered to his head.
My cat (rest her soul) had a strong maternal instinct and I guess she'd decided at that particular time that my dad was looking rather homely and needed to be groomed.   Grin  It still stands out as one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Alas, the comic is no longer online, so I can't see the hilarity.  From your descriptions, I take it a cat decides hair=toy? That would be my Emma. From the day she opened her eyes, she's been trying to climb my hair every time it's in a braid, and swatting at it when it's in a tail. Maybe she thinks it's attacking me?
she also sits in my lap and chews on my comb when I try to comb out my hair. shes a ... strange little kitty.
