Welp,I'm back from wedding gown alterations!!  Finally, thank God!!  It took like 2 hours!
When all is done,I'll have 3 bustle points in the back, the shoulder straps lifted alittle, the hem lifted alot and the bolero taken in alittle!  Pics are coming either later today or tomorrow!!  My sister was nice enough to take some with my digital camera.  Just have to download them.  We also got her gown there.
Went back to her house and had wine and sushi!  Not a bad day spent.
Now,just the little things to do......get a music list together, touch up the vows, get a unitycandle, tapers and memorial candles.  I found a girl on Etsy.com that will make a wristlet for me.  I need to find a nice money chest, too.  I just don't have the time to pull out my sewing machine or serger to make a wristlet.  So when you can't do it yourself, find someone to help!!

If you have a Michael's near you, they have a medium size wooden treasure chest for about $20.  The Sunday paper had a 40% off coupon for one regular priced item.

JoAnn Fabrics also has a chest, its a bit smaller but fancier.  They also have a 40% off coupon in the paper.

The planning? Hunnay, I couldn't wait for the marriage to be over with!  Grin  Grin

But seriously...the planning was pretty easy, considering that the hotel where I was married took care of most of the arrangements. I talked about it with a coordinator over the phone - they put it all together and made it happen.

I had to worry about all of the "local" stuff, of course.

Very pretty! My firend wants me to go shopping for her gown Wednesday, any suggestions? I was one of the lucky ones that found my dress and it was the first and only one I tried on!

Definately have a plan of action!  Find out if you need an appt. before you go to whichever store, boutique or bridal shop. I had my mother and sister with me,which turned out to be a good thing.  Honest opinions count!  I went early to a few places on Friday and then on Saturday to David'd Bridal.  My situation is alot different though because I had a rollator and a leg brace to deal with.  Tell her don't settle, keep looking for that "this is it" gown.  May not happen on the first try,but she'll know when she puts it on!!

Thanks! We are actually going tonight to a place in our mall. I am going to tell her she should find a David's Bridal. I have seen their commercials on the tele for the $99 gown sale. My only fear is that I am going to be stuck in a dress as well, but I don't know her wedding plans. I'm not sure if she is going to stay here and get married or wait until her finance gets back from his tour overseas and get married when they move to NY.
