I don't know how I came to marry 2 packrats, but I surely did.  Of course, my craft/dressing room is overflowing onto the dining room table, which I use for a cutting table and there is all the paperwork from the classes I teach.  I usually keep everything thru the following semester.  I bought hanging folders and file folders and a crate intending to get everthing sorted out, but that was almost a year ago and they are all still in the boxes.  I think what I really need is a filing cabinet, but I don't have room for one!  We actually have 3 2-drawer units, but my husband is using all of them.  The only way I am going to get one of my own is to put it in my room, but there is no room.

It really is scarry as to how many similarities we have!!!   I used to use the table in our old apartment, before then the kitchen floor or my queen size futon for laying out patternsand fabric and then cutting!
We have a two drawer small file cabinet, which to no choice of my own was put in charge of it to get some kind of order to husband's mess!!! Roll Eyes
My sewing room/bird room is slowly being bombarded with alot of stuff that needs either to be on a shelf or in some kind of container to keep organized!
I've pretty much banned him from going in there aside to help with feeding the birds on occasion.  We'll see if that lasts!
I think I need a room solely for sewing and a room just for the birds.  Do ya think maybe there's a genie with a bottle I can rub to get my wish?!  lol

I hope there is, and if I find him/her, I'll put a good word in for you.  If you find him/her, put a word in for me.  Smiley

I did straighten up a little bit today in the process of looking for things, like my amethyst bead necklace, which I couldn't find this morning when I wanted to wear it.  I was re-organizing my Faire jewelry, trying to decide what I wanted to wear this weekend when I found it in a bag with the other jewelry.  I remembered that I wore it last Fri when I drove up and put it in the bag because I didn't have my jewelry roll, which I couldn't find then.  I have since found the necklace and the jewelry roll, also the big plastic needle I use to thread elastic into snoods.  (I make crocheted snoods and sell them at Bristol.)  Also found the pearl and emerald silver pendant I had been looking for all over the place.  It was in a bag with the blue jewelry.  So now I have all the jewelry sorted into 3 big plastic bags by color: red, blue and green.  And the pieces are individually bagged because they are silver.

Now I just have to do the rest of the room.  I have a bookshelf for fabric and an armoire for jewelry, but think I need bigger storage pieces.

Thanks!  I sure will pu in a good word for ya!
I also crocheted some snoods, but didn't like the pattern so I haven't gotten around to finding another one or making up my own.
Glad you found the things you were looking for!
I have a closet with a RubberMaid  5 shelving system,(it's not enough for the fabric!) Tongue Roll Eyesthere's also a duplicate system next to the sewing table for sewing notions, thread and crochet stuff.  I think I need an amoire to keep it all in for real!!  I need to get rid of or use all the yarn. Embarrassed  Sold some of it on E-bay a few years ago,but that stash seems to keep growing!!!!!!!  Argh!
There is light at the end of the tunnel!!!(looking dreamily towards the sky!)

Today I am prewashing all the homespun I bought for skirts.  Also a hoopskirt that I am re-boning for a friend.  Delivered snoods to the shop that sells them.  Sold 2 last weekend; sales will pick up, I am sure.  Have to make a couple in different colors and see how they sell.

I seem to have become the go-to seamstress for all the people in my shop.  Have 2 more repair jobs on hand that I need to do before next weekend.

For snood patterns, I use old doily patterns, then just do a mesh surround until it is the right size.  People really like them.

Sounds good on the sales picking up!  Always a great idea to alter a doily pattern!  I'll have to try to find a pattern and mess with it!
Speaking of sales picking up......that means money and makes me think of my dear husband going out in the rain this morning to cash in my scratch off lottery tickets........I usually win $10 here, maybe the most $20 there..........until this morning!!!!!!!!!!!  I scratched off a Cruisin' Cash ticket and won $500!!!!!!  Wooo Hooo Cheesy!!!!!! That money is going right into savings!  I was so excited!  He thought I didn't win,but I kept telling him one of my numbers matched a winning number and I scratched off the prize to reveal $500!!!!!!!!On went his sneakers again and he went to the store he bought the ticket from and then called me and said,You're right,we're winners!!!!!!!!  I'm stoked for the day!!!! Wink

I am thrilled for you!  I just don't have blind, dumb luck, and think it's lovely when someone I know does.  I can't think of anyone more deserving.

Now I truly believe God works in mysterious ways...........today while I had my back turned to the kitchen sink for a second,Shasta,my pup decided to take a nibble at her paw.  She's 13 1/2 years old so as dogs get older they sometimes gets bumps or growths.  She has had this grown on the top of her paw for a few months and I've been keeping an eye on it.  Had the e- collar on her just about 24/7 for a month, too.  Took it off for her to eat and drink and BAM! The second my back was turned she grabbed it!!!!!!!!!  It wasn't pretty..........blood all over! Lips Sealed Shocked  So off we went to the vet,a shot and a clean up and a bandage job was $188!  So on Tuesday, she goes in to have it removed.  Meds, procedure, stay in the hospital, biopsy to test for cancer, ect. The bill will be between $475-$550!!!!  So my lottery win will come in most handy at the right time!!!!
Now all I have to hope for is to I possibily get another scratch off win to cover the difference! Cheesy  Hey,ya never know............God works in mysterious ways................
