Oh dear some people are just twits!  I have an idea for ya!  When I was living in the basement with Don over the winter we had to share one shower with five other people. So there was barely any hot water.  So, what I did was boil some water and put it in the tub.  Buy the time I had enough it cooled down to be used.  I did a sort of "Japanese wash up" so to speak.  I did not wash my hair in this.  For that I boil water seperately and let it cool to a useable temp.  Mind I only wash my hair once a week in the winter so that helps.  Don and I would share this "bath" and we liked it.  HTH or at least gave you a good giggle! Reminds me of a tip that I heard on some news show. They said patients should take precautionary measures and mark themselves prior to surgery.  It should be done to make sure your doctor doesn't operate on the wrong body part and accidentally take out the wrong kidney or something. Tongue

Just lets me know that if a surgeon is capable of screwing up so royaly that you need to mark your own body parts, to not put it past anyone else.

Anyway, I would've been so angry if I were in your situation.  Glad you got your hot water back. Wink

I am glad you got the hot water back.  I hate cold showers.  In a similar situation, I heated water on the stove and took a "spit bath" in the sink.  Took longer and was kind of messy, but the job got done.  Wink

A few years ago, our AC died during August.  We really couldn't afford to replace it, but it got to the point that, with the heat and humidity,  I couldn't sleep at all, even on the futon in the basement with fans running.  So we bit the bullet and replaced it.  I get really mean  Angry  when I can't sleep and am very tired.

Yep, I remember when we had that blackout a few Augusts ago............not fun at all!  The heat and MS don't go at all so that didn't help!  The pup and the birds I tried to keep cool, but it was terrible!  My futon is at window level so that helped alittle bit with any breeze that came in............ah,August!!!
Yes, those sponge baths or "spit baths" in the bathroom sink get the job done, but makes you thankful for a shower when you can get one!!

Thanks,my sista!!  All is well here.
Still unpacking stuff,sewing and crocheting!
The fun will really begin when my henna and indigo come and I recruit C to help me!!! Shocked
The first wedding anniversary and birthday are coming up so getting excited about that.
Mom was recently in from S.C. so I got to see her and spend time,it was good. Even my godmother and one of my cousins was in from North Carolina.
When mom  comes in Nov., she and I will fly back to S.C. in Dec. so I can spend a week down there.  Can't wait.  I get to see my friend Ron and his wife, who I buy Native American jewelry from, eat super healthy and just relax!!! I can't wait!
Hope all is well with you!!!
Drop me a line anytime or p/m me. Smiley

Today I'm attempting to have C help me with henna and indigo. Shocked  I'm hoping this works out ok.  I think I'm going to have him help me with the back.  I'll tackle the fron and sides.
I mixed my 150 g of henna last night with orange jiuce,(a first!) I usually use ACV.  The dye released by 7 this morning.  I was expecting it to release by 11.  No biggie.   I'll use 300 g of indigo.  It's cutting it close.  I really should use a total of 500 or 600 g. Whenever C gets back from the drugstore with latex gloves for himself,we'll get started.
There are alot of firsts I'm trying with this.  Not a problem though.  I'm using orange juice instead of ACV, I'm going to use salt,Almlal,Tea Tree Oil and of course C's help!  This should be interesting.  I'm hoping after this we make our first anniversary!!!
There's alot of prep work, if any of you ladies have done this, you know what's involved!
I hope we have enough newspaper!  I kinda stole the stash of paper from my birds!
Because it's so heavy, I'm going to try to keep it in my hair for 4 hours instead of 6.  I am guessing I'll make 3!
Then the real fun of it is rinsing it out!!  It would be ok, if I wasn't dealing with the MS symptoms.  We'll see how my leg cooperates and my balance.
Stay tuned for the resutls!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,Lisa!
The whole process was a bit much with long hair!  C did the whole application of applying it.  He never did this before so I had to have much patience and repeat,"don't pull my hair!"  It was very heavy when all was applied!  I did the hairline and then C put saran wrap around the whole thin on top of my head to keep any heat in.  A turbi towel went on,almost didn't make it!  It was very tight Shocked!  I kept this on for close to 4 hours.  C helped me in the shower with rinsing it out.  I conditioned, washed ,conditioned, washed, conditioned!!!! I think I was in the shower for 45 minutes!  Roll Eyes Shocked  I used about 16 oz. of conditioner, too.  My hair felt like straw and I was really annoyed with that.  As the evening wore on,my hair got softer, but felft knotty.  All the grey didn't get covered, but hey it was his first time doing this so I don't blame C at all.
This morning my hair was very soft and curly, but knotty.  When I showered I conditoned my hair  again.  It feels much better now.  Still ultra soft!!
I don't think I will use orange juice the next time.  I'll go back to ACV.  I will add more tea tree e/o,too.  Even though I used a total of 450 grams of henna and indigo, the color still came out very dark gbrown, almost black. I'll go back to using 500 or 600 grams the next time though. I like the results this time though!  I also used amla for the first time.  I think I used about 3 tablespoons.  That worked out well.  I just don't like the hay smell of the henna!
Along with my new glasses,I decided to try new make-up, too.  So while my hair was air drying I tried my new stuff!
I have been using mineral make-up for a long time so I thought while C and I were in Walgreen's I'd check out what was new.  I've always gotten my amke-up from Southern Magnolia's or Bare Escentials.  So I picked up Almay Light clear foundation,Neutrogena lipstck in somekind of plum,Maybelline volumizing blackest black mascara.  All worked out well.  I like them all.  I used Finishing Powder from Southen Maganolia to set the founcation.  The foundation blends with your skin tone so it "takes the guesswork out of looking for the perfect shade".  I was surprised that it did exactly that!!!  I think next time I wear it, I'll apply it with a brush.
So all in all everything went well!
