Yes, if there is one thing going for the south, it's its warm, wide, and welcoming open spaces.

Things must really be bustling though in NY. I always love this season up North. I never really get the same "winter cheer" feeling when I'm visiting down south.  Smiley

Yep, I think it's kinda hard to visualize Christmas with snow,Santa and wintery stuff if you're in the South and it's 40 degrees higher than freezing, people walking around without coats and hats!

Ha!  Where I'm from, people break out the coats and hats as soon as it hits 69 degrees!  We Southerners are weenies when it comes to the cold.   Cheesy

Heehee! That sounds exactly like my parents. "Put on a jacket! It's 50 degrees outside!" "Aww, Mom. In Pittsburgh, that's short sleeves and shorts weather!"

Good to have you back, Curlgirl. Kiss

And I think Sakina and I are rolling our eyes the hardest here since we live in the hottest climates. Grin

Thanks,Angel! Kiss
As I get quickly acclimated to the weather here and my place misssing me for a week; I thought I'd give some feedback on the hair products I was using down south.(Must make a mental note to insist hubby keep the house as orderly as possible while I'm away! Shocked)  Please don't ask!
First I bought the Aveeno Nourish and Moisturize shampoo.  My hair liked it very much.  So much so that I ordered a full size from Amazon.com!  Then I used Herbal Essences Totally Twisted conditioner. Johnson's Buddies Easy Comb Detangler spray.  I don't know if it was the change in water, weather or a change to different products,or a combination of all,but my hair was happy with these products.  Now that I'm back home I'll be washing and conditioning this morning.  Will let you all know what the results are.

I am not pleased with the results! Sad  My curls were tighter and shinier when I was down south.  There are a number of possible reasons why this is so.  The weather down there, the water, change of hair products, and just because!
After I let my hair air dry it wasn't as curly or as shiny.  I had looses curls and waves period.   I might go back to doing the Curl method I was using before.  It just takes so long to do in one sitting.  Even if it is once a week.  I'd rather WC and ACV rinse every 4 days.
I divided my hair for 2 twisted braids, folded each braid into 2 little bundles and wrapped a scrunchie on each.  I'll take my hair down this morning and see what it looks like.

I'm guessing the variables are water hardness, general humidity, and probably temperature.

I hope you figure out what the issue might be! As an experiment, maybe you could try using collected rainwater as a final rinse. That would at least give you an idea of how your hair reacts to soft or hard water.

Welp,I'm in Brooklyn and the thought of dirty rain touching my hair makes me ill! Tongue Roll Eyes
You may be right about the water hardness, temp. and humidity.  I was thinking about that myself.  The only thing different that I did was do an ACV rinse here not there.  I'm so due for a deep conditioning treatment it's not funny!  The might also help.  Ack!  What we don't do or are willing to do for our hair!!! Shocked

When it rains,it pours!!!!  Ever since I came home, I've watched the thermostat go from 72 down to 65!!  I was freezing even more than my normal freezing!  I called the gas co.,hub had to come back from his friend's house which he was going to do some construction work at.  We waited for the guy to come,he installed a new water pump and the temp. stayed at 67! Angry Roll Eyes  Hub went to Home Depot, bought a heater, plastic wrap for the windows, tape, caulking and a caulk gun.  So last night he did the living room windows, weathproofed the glass door and front door and list goes on..........
The thermostat says 71,but I had set it for 74.  So I called the gas co. back and asked how long before the guy "fixed the problem" and the thermostat going up to the temp. I set.  He told me 45 minutes.  It was now 4 hours since the guy left and the temp. was 67!!  I was so mad! Angry
So I scheduled an appt. for today so the tech. can either correct the problem......again or replace something else!  The water pumbp and labor ran $585!!!  The ladnlady will either pay me back or I will deduct it from next months rent amount.
Why can't people do a job correctly the first time?! So wrapping presents, decorating and anything else I planned for today is out the window until the problem is fixed.  Somewhere between 8-12 the guy will show up.  He was only an hour late yesterday.  Could I be so lucky today????? Roll Eyes
