Yeah, but on the upside it happened right before a really cold snap hit.  You're supposed to get hit with a snow storm Sat.,too.  The "weather people" are predicting a bad one with accumilations of 6-12 or more inches.
I have always gone by my leg that I had surgery on when I was 16.  A few days before the weather does something,be it rain or snow, I feel a certain ache in my scar.  People with arthritis feel something, too.  I have felt nothing so I'm wondering about this storm............. Undecided

My dad has a big scar on one of his legs from a really old farm machinery accident back in the late 50s/early 60s.  I'll have to ask if he feels anything with weather changes.

I feel colder when it rains than when it snows at this time of the year.

Funny that you say that Drear!  Because the leg that had the surgery feels different depending on whether it's going to rain or snow!
The snow has arrived here and it's going to be a good storm!  That's what I hear, but ya never know! Roll Eyes  C and I are expecting my sister and BIL for our early  Christmas celebration dinner.  C was out early this morning doing the shopping.  I'll make my Apple Crisp later on after kitchen cools down.  C's rib stew and potatoes are in the oven, root veggies, those I'll eat as long as they're not in any contact with the meat.  There's even oysters as part of the appetizers!!!  I love raw oysters!
So there's more decorating to do,cleaning, cooking and present wrapping!  Busy, busy, busy and there's a snow storm happenin! Shocked Roll Eyes Cool

When it couldn't get worse!...........the snow is here and still acumulating!  Don't know how much more we'll get,but it's so white and pretty outside!
C hung the lights in the living room last night, made his mashed potatoes, cooked his rib stew and had done a heavy shopping in the morning!  I was able to make two trays of my apple crisp.  So dessert is taken care of.  He walked all over the place with thhe shopping cart that by the time he got home with his heavy load, the cart was broekn in several spots!  We got this huge heavy duty cart in Sept.! Angry  Now my laundry is put back until who knows when! Roll Eyes  C likes to take the laundry to the laundry mat and do it.
So far my sister and BIL are still coming later today for dinner.  The oysters are in the freezer,we'll take them out 3 hours before they arrive for dinner.
I wrapped their gifts last night before bed.
So today we'll finish making dinner, set out the appetizers, set the table, clean the house, get dressed and probably pass out before they arrive!!! Roll Eyes
Monday is an appt. at the groomers for the pup and to drop off the groomer's Christmas gifts.  Tuesday is my docot's appt. with my doctor that did my leg surgery when I was 16.
Still have to wrap the family's gifts!
I did manage to squeeze in alittle sewing yesterday though! Grin  I wanted to try to master sewing a gift bag with a casing.  I'm still trying!!!!!!!

Yep, I think it's kinda hard to visualize Christmas with snow,Santa and wintery stuff if you're in the South and it's 40 degrees higher than freezing, people walking around without coats and hats!

Oh, I love it!  Actually, we do get some cooler days and gray skies where you have to don coats and hats, but I'd take Christmas like this anytime.  I've had enough of the colder winter like weather to last me a lifetime.

Your hair was probably benefited by the humidity when you visited the south.  Some curly girls like it, because it makes hair softer.  Others hate it because it can create frizz.  I happen to like it. Smiley

Sounds like you've had and will continue to have some busy days.  Hope you get through it all with a smile on your face...that's what it's all about. Wink

LD,I'm not so happy right about now.  I'm letting you and the ladies know that I'll be off most of the time for alittle while.  My grandmother passed away this morning.  Because of the holiday, plans and preparations are held up until after the holiday.
I hope everybody has a Merry Christmas.
I'll be back soon.

Thank you all for your thoughts and condolences.  I really appreciate it! Kiss
So here is the New Year and it's a slow sadder start than I wanted or thought it would be.  It is sort of surreal the feeling I get when I think of my grandmother.  I at times can't or don't want to believe she's gone.  I think I can deal with the whole experience much better if I know that she has no more pain,is with my grandfather, her parents and her sister.
I had put a picture up on my refrigerator a few months ago of my grandmother and me at Christmas Eve 2 years ago.  Funny how I looked at that picture everytime I was and am in the kitchen and always smiled.  As with everything, time heals all wounds.  Or so they say, whoever "they" are.........
When it rains it pours I guess.  I've had swollen ankles since the 30th and the skin on my left ab is painful.  3 days ago the muscles there started to hurt.  As it turns out the neurologist doesn't know what's wrong.  She told me after listening to my breathing that my lungs were clear and I was not in cardiac arrest! Shocked  I swear this what years of medical school has to offer!!!!!! Roll Eyes
So I made an appt. with my general practioner and I go on Tues.  Sleeping, walking with the rollator and breathing are tedious and painful right now at best!
The neurologist wanted me to stop taking the Ropinorole for the Resltess Leg Syndrome.  Like that is going to happen!!   The jumping and pain I get from RLS is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.  I cut down from 5 pills a day to 2 pills a day and that is a big stretch.
Aside from my trials and tribulations,Christmas Eve was wonderful at my grandmother's.  It was the first time in about 30 eyars that all 7 of her children were together.  So the children and grandkids for the most part had a very good Eve.
Hubby bought me a flat screen TV for Christmas for  my sewing/bird room to watch sewing dvds and crochet dvds.  Hockey is a given when we get the cable guy to install another box.  I have to tell the truth, I haven't been watching any tutorials, not in the mood.  Maybe soon.
Strange things have been happening today and as of late.  The cat jumped in the bathtub this morning.  She pondered around in there for a while.  My female cockatiel layed an egg either during the night or this morning.  I found it in one of the food cups this morning.  I don't know where the nest box is and don't know if I want to raise babies again.  I might be done with that.  So for now she and her partner will sit and tend to the egg.  There might be 4 more eggs on the way.  Oh joy.............

I've booked my trip to the doctor's office tomorrow with Stress(ahem, Access-A-Ride).  That'll give me a chance to wear my new North Face parka.  I hope it lives up to its reputation of keeping me warm!  I got my Marc Ecko bag a few days ago in the mail from Ebay.  I thought the strap would be longer, but it had alot of what I was looking for in a bag when I'm in a wheelchair.  Best of all, there is no velcro!!!!  The strap has no buckles or anything on it to catch my hair if I choose to wear it down.  Speaking of bags,I bought the Today's Spcial Value on QVC a few days ago that was from Stone Mountain.  I needed a black bag and this one will be perfect.  I've gone alittle crazy with trying to find the right bag so to round it all out,I'm having a girl on Etsy make me a bag, too!!!!  I'm done. Roll Eyes
I haven't checked on the birds yet to give them breakfast, but I'm suspecting there's another egg. We'll see.....
I'm off to make whole wheat pancakes with craisins and coffee!!!

No egg this morning from my girl.  She pulled a fast one on me and sometime either this afternoon or before 7:30pm I found another egg.  Now don't get me wrong I love little chirpies, but I don't know if I want to set up a nest box and possibly handfeed from when they are hatched if I have to.  It's alot of work and I may be past my breeder days.  I still have time before she's done laying and starts to incubate.  Don't know if they are duds or something's there.........
