Ah well. Gracie might've been a cockatoo, but my friend was positive she was a cockatiel. Of course, we were in middle school, so it could have been she just got the age facts mixed up.

I'm not a fan of CATSCANS. I hate the tinct they make you drink, and I hate the drug that they stab into your arm just before you go in.

...

Of course, having the really bad food poisoning masquerading as appendicitis at the same time probably didn't help my general impression of the test!  Grin

Hope your mammogram will be lumpless squishitude!

KNS- I should have talked to you before the CATSCAN thing had I known you knew what to expect!  The drink is hidieous and I don't know what what worse, the guy smacking my wrist to get my veins up or the needle with the iodine solution! Tongue Undecided
LD-It's uncomfortable, but in no way could compare to the feeling that you'd get if the report says they found something!  Get it over with and you'll be glad you did! Smiley
I'm going to see my sister today.  We're going to take a drive out to see our father.  I guess it would be 1 1/2 hours from my house.  Haven't seen him in about 6 months.  No big deal though. Roll Eyes
Clhloe layed another egg yesterday Angry!  Now I hoping that the first one is not a baby  so it gives the last one a better chance of survival.
Going to see the surgeon on Tues. so I need to cancel the other tests.  Reschedule them another day in the next week or later that week.  It's too much to do in one day with Access-A-Ride possibly not coming through on time. Tongue
The washer is coming on 2/5 so hubby and a few of his friends are going to take care of the plumbing today for it.  Hub also told me he'll get an electric dryer for me after the car show in April.  Running gas lines for a gas one is too much of a problem the way things are set up here.  It's ok,I just want a washer and dryer so I can wash clothes at 3am if I wanted to!!! Well, it figures that guys would do only alittle work! Roll Eyes  The plumbing was not done!  Mark said he needed to figure out how to do the job,get the supplies and then do the work.  I understand that, but he already looked at the work last week!!! Roll Eyes Huh  So he'll do it next Sat.
The visit with my father went as planned.  He didn't have the photos out that I wanted to see to learn about my father's family. Sad Angry  It was expected that would happen though.
My sister once again annoyed me,stressed me out and just plain aggravated me!! Angry  Again, no big shocker there!
I did get an e-mail from one of the MS sites that I get and got the news that the drug that is supposed to help with walking got FDA approval!!!!  It was supposed to get approved on my birthday in October, but the FDA dragged their feet, as usual!  So now the fun begins with trying to get my doctor to get me this drug to see if it will help me with my gait.  Fingers crossed!

Well, it's off to the surgeon at 3 to see what he thinks.  I don't what anyone sticking me or proding me anymore! Angry  I've had it.  It's almost been a month of contant pain, but it's less.
So there's a total of 5 eggs.  No babies yet.  I can't get in there(nest box) to see if any potential babies will come.  I'll try later.
Placed a big order with Dr. Fosters and Smith to get some bird supplies and some dental bones for the pup.  I'm hoping the mirror toy works for my oldest tiel.  I can't stand the screaming and calling anymore!!!  He's such a pest!
Still no computer! Sad  It was supposed to come yesterday, but didn't show.  My luck it will come when I'm at the doctor's office. Roll Eyes

The computer monitor and speakers came yesterday.  I didn't open them and neither did C.  We weren't in a festive mood.  I had gotten a phone call from my mother in S.C. and thought it was strange she was calling me again yesterday when I already spoke with her that morning.  Ya know when you get a phone call that isn't good news just by the calm tone of someone's voice????  Well, she said don't panic, everything is ok, M(my brother) is ok,but he's in the E.R. at the hospital.  A light fixture fell on him when he was on a call this morning! Shocked  My brother is a firefighter.  Tears immediately welled up in my eyes and I was very upset.   My family tries to tell me things carefully because of the MS and the effects the stress from it has on me.Funny though, cause the worse a situation is;the calmer I get!
One aunt that works with my sister in NYC were on their way to the hospital, another aunt in NJ was coming in, a cousin that works close to my house left work to go.  I called the hospital and got some run around, but some nice lady in the E.R. told me he was ok.
My aunt from NJ called me and put my brother on and all I heard was, "Hello, Sis.  I'm ok.  I'll call you later when I get home."  Those were the best words I had heard in a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy  He of course didn't call and I didn't call him because I found out he was exausted and in pain with his neck and shoulder.  He has to go for an MRI.  My mother was the Community Board President at that hospital so she made some phone calls and the head guy took care of my brother.  My brother just went back to work that previous day to work a 24.  He had the flu and it knocked the stuffing out of him.  When I spoke with him the night before he said he was just tired and he was checking on me with my visit with the surgeon.
It looks like or feels like a hemetoma that's liquid or filled with liquid.  The pain is less,Thank God, and I feel it smaller than  month ago.  I go back to see this surgeon in Feb. and see if it's smaller or surgery is needed to get rid of it.
He believes it is from the injection I did 2 days before the pain happened.  There's a small window where you can inject safely without problems.  It so happens, that yours truly, hit the spot that can cause a hematoma!!! Embarrassed Angry  They take a long time to go way,if they go away totally.  We'll see.
I had to cancel the mammogram and venos doppler of the legs because I couldn't see myself getting up at 4 or 5  in the morning for Access-A-Ride!  I was already tired.
So I'll re-schedule.
This morning I start the birds on brown rice and whole wheat bread to prepare them for any babies.  Out of 6 eggs, there should be a few.  I couldn't candle the eggs because those 2 birds are so in tune with eachother that one comes out of the nest box and the other immediately goes in!!! Roll Eyes  It's day 19 from when she started laying so anywhere from now still 28 total days the eggs can hatch.  I've got her bath ready and food ready so here we go!!!!!

My goodness, dear, you do have a lot going on.  *hugs*  I'm so glad your brother wasn't hurt as badly as he could have been.  I'm equally hopefully that your "owie" will resolve itself in time and you won't need surgery.  You take care of yourself and know that we're praying for you.   Kiss

Thank you,Trisha!  My "owie" is, I'd say on a scale of 1-10, a 4.  Big relief was a month ago when it was a 9 or 10.
My brother has been calling me to check in and see how I'm doing.  He says he sore, but resting his body.  I am so not ready to get more bad news!!!
On the birdie news....there are still 7 eggs. Sad  The countdown is on to see whether or not these eggs will hatch.  I can't wait to get in there and do a thorough cleaning of the cage!!
All the supplies I was waiting for came yesterday from Dr.'s Foster and Smith.  The cleaning supplies are ready to go and do their job!!! Grin
My henn, indigo and amla also came.  Got a pretty Capodimonti cardinal for my mother as a surprise and a pretty salmon colored orchid for me!
Since the plumbing thing for the washer will be done on Wed., I'll do my henna thing on Thurs.  Hubby says he'll help!  Thank God!  It's hard to do the back of your head with this stuff!

M is coming back today to finish the plumbing for the new washer so my henna is put off until Sat. Sad
The washer is supposed to come tomorrow.  Good thing because there is somekind of weather storm coming Fri. night into Sat. Shocked  We'll see if it's snow or rain........... Roll Eyes
Still no babies in the nestbox. Angry  I'm holding out until  the incubation period is over for the last egg laid.  Why oh why do I humor and listen to my husband?!?! Angry I tired to tell him the birds were past their breeding age and I didn't want to raise anymore babiies!!!!!!!!!  Never again!  He knows nothing of birds or what's involved in breeding!  I tried to explain in detail what's involved, but I guess he figures like most men, that he won't be doing it so why worry!!! Angry
I can not wait until the nest box comes down and we're back to normal!!!! Smiley
I can't wait until I can put everything back in its place that came out of the closet for the washer.  I hate disorder and clutter!!!!  There's enough of it here.  I love when hubby goes to work, then I can really get to organizing again!

Not to butt in where unwanted, but it seems to me that if he's the one who wants to raise baby birds, it's his responsibility. No exceptions. If he can't care for them, he can't have them. That's how I was raised anyway... Roll Eyes

AMEN!!!!   He's not understanding that I can't cram 15 years of bird experience into a short amount of time!  Now he knows and hopefully will leave well enough alone!  Plus with any new additions, it means I won't be able to pay him extra ttention!  Men don't like that much Huh.

Is this something he can learn on his own, like from Google? Google can be a marvelously helpful tool.

Speaking of learning the ropes, my sister just recently adopted a cockatiel. She seems awfully fond of the lil guy, or perhaps girl? Is there any easy way to tell birdie genders?   Smiley

Ooo, new washer! What kind of washer did you get?
