How long do you spend on your hair in the morning?

I'm curious how long all of you long lockers take to style your long hair in the morning? When I had very short hair, it actually took a long time to make it look decent. Now that I'm not using any heat or styling products at all, it takes me about ten minutes to pin it up into something nice with bobby pins and a nice little clip.

After washing, I just run Pantene Silkening crème through the length and leave it loose. When it's completely dry, I comb it out and braid it. That's it...and sometimes I don't even bother to braid.

I'm a kinda wash & go- on the days that I wash my hair after squeezing the water out with a microfiber towel I scrunch in some gel and and anti-frizz spray. I let it airdry for an hour and then style it, most often 1/2 up bun. To get the best looking curls it is important not to touch the hair for an hour while its drying. For me this totally makes a difference!

On days when I don't wash, mostly 5 minutes, this is when I know what I'm going to do with it. I can spend a lot of time trying to figure it out sometimes!! I'm at another inbetween stage that can make it difficult to choose or find the new thing that works (other than my standbys).

Yes, I have. They are just gorgeous! Just can't afford any right now unfortunately.

The mornings I wash my hair, I usually spend about 15 minutes on it. I squeeze out excess water then wrap it in a microfiber turban while I put lotion on, get dressed, ect. Then I comb it out with a Body Shop wooden comb. Use a little jojoba oil on the length and ends, then twist it up and secure with hairsticks. If I don't wash it, I'll comb it out, them brush it out, and twist and hairsticks and go.

At night I braid and roll my hair. I bike to work with it that way and I comb it out and bun it at work. It takes about 5 minutes or less.

On a typical morning, less than 10 minutes.

I take down my night braid/ponytail, comb my hair gently, put it up in a bun and if needed, put on and pin the headcovering of the day (usually a scarf or a mini snood).

If I wash my hair, it's usually early in the evening so it's not terribly wet when I go to bed.

Oh, I remember the days of short hair. It could take me an hour to do my hair. I had to spray and curl and.... ergh....

Okay, if I do the two braids wrapped around my head (sort of like Frieda Kahlo or those images of German/Russian peasant girls) that can take 45 minutes.

But just a simple single cinnamon bun with hairsticks? Maybe about 10-15 minutes. For work, I usually do a braided bun, which adds maybe about 5 minutes.

Long hair seems so much easier to care for than short hair. And I wash it less often now than I did when it was short. (Short hair-every day vs. long hair- about twice a week.) I think that hairspray must attract dust and dirt or something.

Or does long hair absorb scalp oils better?
