Holy crap!  What a nightmare!  I've never had it happen to me.  Keep the scissors hidden!!  Shame on mommy for scarring you!

that would be a nightmare Shocked!! Very not nice to even SAY something like that. Was it in a threatening manner like, "i'ma cut your hair when you're sleeping" or what?

oh no she was just warning me of how kids can be kids. when i was about 7 or 8 i thought it would be a good idea to cut my  moms hair. back then her hair was longer. it was her way of saying my son is just like me... and to be careful that i do hide the scissors. it would definately be a night mare to ahve that happen. i hope it never does... to anyone.

One more reason why I will never have children.  Shocked  hehe

If you only allow your son to touch scissors when supervised, it shouldn't be a problem. It would be best if you store them, and any other safety hazard, in a place that he doesn't know about and couldn't possibly reach.

Yes - HIDE THE SCISSORS!  Kids can do a lot of damage with them.  Probably more common than cutting someones else's hair is cutting their own hair.  My kindergarten picture shows me with my pixie cut and a hunk of missing hair in my bangs.   Grin

Yes, scissors + kids are a disaster waiting to happen. When I was a little kid I cut all of the tassels off of my bedspread. Mom was furious.

I had a similar hair cutting experience as BB when I was in preschool and there's even a picture of me burring my face in the couch to hide the chunk of bangs I had cut off. I thought my mom and dad were going to be mad that I cut my hair, but they thought it was funny. I guess compared to the time when I used my dad's razor to shave off the peach fuzz on one side of my face when I was four, that was pretty tame...How in the world did I make it through childhood without any serious injuries?

OOH, okay. My neice did that to her hair. Poor girl, the day before her fourth(I think) birthday, she went from past shoulder length, to dinky boy cut to attempt(!) to correct the damage. Even then there was a noticeably shorter section. I don't know that she ever got to my sister's hair(although she's got two more younger ones, so it's still a possibility, LOL).

Definately keep the scissors away from him when you're not supervising... worse than cutting hair.. he might cut himself, and that would suck.

When I was about six years old I had long, tail bone length hair. One day, my brother was left to baby sit me for a few minutes while my mom when downstars.  When she came back she found that my brother, who was ten years old, had chopped all my hair off!  It was so bad I had to have a crew cut.  Thank god I did not remember any of this!  I was told once my father got home my brother got his butt tanned with Dad's belt! Cheesy
