I shaved my head for the first time in 2004, in sympathy with my younger cousin's cancer treatment, and since it is extremely thick there was enough hair for three children. Then I did it for the second time last year, since I knew that the intensive meds for lyme treatment would mess up the quality of my hair for any child receiving it. Now it's long enough to pull out of my face but only using some type of pins and clips. And having hair in my face is extremely irritating to me, intensifying the emotional problems that go along with pain, nausea, and medication-induced depression. So I was looking for those extra-long bobby pins that look like a big long loop. I found this wonderful website. I really enjoy long hair, but I figure that God had a reason for giving me hair that grows so very fast and thick, and it won't grow much past the middle of my back, so I will probably continue to give it to the children regularly. Also, with all this focus on hair, you guys might have some neat ideas for a long-hair look for those with none. (ie I found a wonderful, beaded cap that has long rows of beads extending as if it were hair, which made me much more comfortable after shaving all mine off.) -Tru and Blessing, the wheelchair Service Dog
