I am a newbie here. Just joined last month.
This is my first month posting my hair length.

Last month I got my hair cut on the 18th and I told the hair dresser to be ruthless and cut all of the damaged ends off.
When she was done it was 20 inches.
(See my profile picture, which was taken right after my cut.)

This month, less than a month after my trim, after following the advice on this site I have already grown a full inch!!!!! Shocked

It is now 21 inches!!!! Grin

I cannot wait to try out the rest of the advise on this site!

I've stopped using heat on my hair, and this months length is 16.5".  Same as a month ago, but the hair had been straightened at the time of that measurement.  I can't wait to see what it's grown to in May Cheesy

Citrine,

Now that you are not heating your hair and you will be measuring it the same way next month, you will be able to get a true reading of how much it grew.
I cannot wait to hear how much that will be.  Smiley

Maybe you will be able to find someone to take a picture?
Wink

Have you read the advice in here about hair washing?
I am loosing a lot less hair now!
Each hair has taken so long to grow!  Roll Eyes

I've read some of the washing advice, and now am using a few Chargin Valley shampoo bars to wash my hair.  It would be really nice  to find a method that leads to less shedding, somedays I wonder how hair can grow at all when so much is being shed Undecided

Did you read this?
http://www.longlocks.com/how-to-grow-long-hair.htm

All I know is I a month and a half ago I had a hair brush full of hair every time I brushed it.
Every time I showered the water backed up because there was so much hair clogging things up.

Now, I am just following everything on that page and I get a lot less hair in my hairbrush, the water in tub does not back up and my hair is growing very quickly.
Smiley

I cannot wait till next month to measure it again.

Going to grow a LOT of chamomile this summer so I can have enough to get me though the winter.  Wink

I measured in at 41 inches. 1/2 inch gain for the month, but I took off the tips.  I couldnt measure the amount.  So, my gain could have been 3/4 of an inch.  O well, gain is gain.  I wont be measuring again until the 1st of October.  A wee experiment I am conducting.

Since I have some different lengths I'm not sure where to measure my hair from.  I have bangs, some graduation on the sides but the whole back is one length.  I want to begin to measure it from next month and I want to get it right from the beginning.  I've tried measuring from the point on my scalp where I think most of the longest lengths in the back grow out from and from the front of my hair line (by pushing bangs aside) because that seems easier.  What would be most correct?

I think most of us measure from the front of the hairline and down the back.  A flexible tape measure works great.

If I'm doing this right it's a FULL 13 3/4" Grin  It was 13½" last week.  A quater of an inch matters when your hair's really short! Wink  I had my last trim three weeks ago and it was mid neck then which is two finger widths shorter than it is now, about an inch in difference Smiley  I'm pretty happy with that.  I can't wait until it reaches my shoulders!  I hope it does by Fall at least.

Just remeasured, and I guess I got a short srand last time, because i got

I have been measuring from my crown.

You are measuring from where your hair starts at your forehead?

hmmm.  Huh

Is there a place on here that explains the standards on how this is so be done?
If so I missed it.  Undecided

I am going to have to remeasure all over again. Embarrassed

Shocked Shocked Shocked Plucking a precious hair!!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I work so hard not to loose any of mine that plucking one seems so wasteful.

Using a ruler method, I would measure one from my hair brush or maybe one left behind after I bathe.

Looking forward to your post next month to see your progress.  Smiley

That is fantastic!

Is your profile picture a current picture?

It is beautiful at that length but, if it is not current, will you post a current picture on here somewhere so we can see how beautiful your current length is?
