Second Day Hair
Apr 23rd, 2008 at 1:00pm

Ok, so last Friday when I had nothing to do I played with my hair. I put it up in a peacock twist while damp with water proof sticks. I slept with it like that. When I took it down it was all twirly and cute. I thought this would be a good option because I wouldn't have to do this every night and I could maybe get away with 2nd or 3rd day hair. Cause when it gets longer it will be more difficult to "do" it every day. Anyways...now, it won't work. I'm gonna try again though, I have no idea why it isn't working now, but is there any other way to get it a little more wavy so it isn't so high maintenance?

I rotate my hairdo's roughly like this: day 1, leave down to airdry.  Will put up sides if need to.  Day 2, 1/2 up or ponytail and Day 3, ponytail or all up or sometimes 1/2 up again.  I usually finger comb at night at put oil on the ends.  The next day I spray either rosewater or Mister Right and scrunch to revive my waves.

Thanks. I am also hoping to get my twisting thing to work again, I really like wearing it down and/or rather not having to wear it up because it doesn't look good down. Like I could just do the second day thing by putting it up in a twist and I'm sure it would look fine but I would prefer not to do that. Now last night I twisted it up before bed, it wasn't damp enough and when I woke up the curls were just kind of mishapen. I spritzed it with water and fluffed a little, I ended up with big sexy hair today. It wasn't perfect but I loved it, I liked the whole touchable thing I had going on. No crunch at all but it still held up great. I think maybe the longer it gets the more I want to get away from my need to have every curl in place and go for the sexy messy volume. It felt great today.

Also, maybe I will have better luck once it gets longer. With 3A hair the curls stretch out on top and get curlier in the length. Maybe I'll be able to smooth the already stretched out top in to a low pony tail and clip the other part to the top of my head.

I have a cycle I go through as well.  First day, leave it down.  Second day, half up or a ponytail.  Third day, bun or braid.  If I want to go for a fourth day as well (rarely) I brush it very well and put it in a high bun.
