I'm at 27 3/4!! I'm happy... But it's quite odd because I did an over-night conditioning and somehow that made my hair not quite as curly as it sometimes is-- I guess when it is dehydrated it becomes rougher and curlier.  But it's definitely getting longer!

That is wonderful!
you have come so far in such a short period of time.
I am so happy FOR you. Cheesy

I just love your hair!
(I have always wanted curly hair.)

Question:

Do you pull your hair straight so you get the full length of the hair when you measure? or do you measure it wet?

Your hair is so curly I would have no idea how to measure it.
My hair is so poker straight I do not have that problem.

Hmm... Pray to hair gods....

-gotta look up who the hair gods might be...
-I will have to think about the color candles to use.
-Herbs? calendula and chamomile I think would be good for me. Maybe a touch of lemon.
-Definitely during the Waxing Moon.

Yes.... this might work.

Good idea.
I will let you know how it works. Wink

Okay.  22.5 inches this morning.  1/4 inch since last measurement, 10 days ago.  I'm still getting a big trim this month, though, and I'll measure again right after.  Then I'll only measure once a month.

I've been thinking about this.  I was at about 14 inches the last time my hair was cut, way back in may of 07. That's roughly 8.5 inches of growth in 15 months.  That's about 1/2 inch a month, a little bit more, so if I cut my hair back to 20 in, say in the middle of this month, and trim 1/2 in every 3 months, I should hit my initial goal of 24 inches in about a year.

Your hair has gotten so long.
I remember when you were saying you thought it would never grow.
I am very happy for you.

I measure my hair when it is dry.  Sometimes I pull a strand out to it's full length and measure that too, but the 27 3/4 measurement is dry.  Wet is... give me a sec to find a measuring tape... wet is at 32" (ie that would be how long my hair is if it were straightened).

thanks  Grin

i have a head start on a lot of people because I have been ignoring my hair for two years and letting it do it's own thing.

the only problem is that it took two years for it to go (curly) from above shoulder length to lower-midback, while it took two years to go (if it were straight) from shoulder length to tailbone.

when i got it cut (back from hip) my only command to the hair dresser was that (wet) i would still be able to put it in a ponytail.  i think i went insane for a while there....

NO GROWTH!

Well at least for my longest layer. I have a feeling that other layers of my hair have been growing this month. I hope.  Undecided

This is so unfair.
I'm at 15 inches barely.I haven't cut my hair at all and haven't changed shampoos.
My hair has been changing texture though. It's getting curlier and less frizzy more and more.I stopped using the vinegar wash because my hair was getting greasy the next day.I don't understand how my hair could go from being 15 1/2 to 15.My mom measured in the back and she said it was 12!i was like "WHAT?!"apparently there's a diffrence in the front measure to the back measure.

where does everyone else normally measure?

Foreverfay,

If you're measuring the same way I am, then we  are almost the same length. I'm not sure you are though. Typically, everyone measures from the hairline over top of the head to the end of the hair. (I had alot of trouble with this, too. For the longest time I thought you were supposed to measure from the side or back of the head starting at the hairline) This is why for most people BSL is 25" and waist length is about 30". Hope that helped Smiley.
