Unfortunately my hair is fighting me. I measured three days in a row and all three times it read 24" This is not good considering last month I measured 24.5" I now know my hair is breaking at the ends and working its way up. Thank goodness I am getting a trim on the 18th. So when this happens I will re-post my measurement so it will be accurte.

It's funny though, my hair seems like it is getting longer. When I see it on my arms, it is farther down than it used to be, but the tape says otherwise. Maybe my sides are getting longer than the back. I have noticed my layers are longer. The shortest layer I could find read 14", so I know that my hair is growing, because last time I measured my layers they were 8". Interesting, yeah?

I can sit on mine, not sure what length that is though....is there an 'official' way of measuring hair length. That sounds really stupid...[ya-ha!!! from root to tip doofus!!] ...does anyone know what I mean?  Huh like, the place on your head.... Grin okay, it's getting to late for this, I'll have another go next time...bye!!

Gloriana - most of us measure our hair starting at the front hairline, go over the top of the head and down to the ends.  A cloth tape measure is easiest to use, but you can use whatever is handy.

Well, I gave myself some self-trims to even up my ends (there were a few ringlets that were visibly longer than the others) so now I'm at 26 1/4".  So I cut off about an inch and a half.  That sounds about right...

I'm still ahead of where I was at the start of the summer, though.  And my hair hasn't been breaking as I've been braiding. Grin

Yep, this is how most measure their hair.  I do realize that this could mean the measurement is longer than the longest hair.  But you can measure your hair any way you want - just be consistent!
