Hair: Yesterday was the usual Friday WTC. I don't even remember how I styled it. Embarrassed Flipped ponytail, I think.
Today was a CWC. At first, I parted my hair in the middle and pinned the sides up with barrettes to go to a baby shower. Then I took the barrettes out to take a nap when I got home. When I woke up, I combed it out and measured. 26.5 inches. *sigh*
After that, I braided. Leave in's for both days have been the spray conditioner blend and EVOO. The latter of which will soon be past its "best by" date, so I'm trying to use it up.

Etc.: Thank you guys so much for the well wishes. *hugs*
It seems to be a stomach ulcer. I've had symptoms since Tuesday night and they haven't improved. If I could afford to, I would go to urgent care...but I cannot. Sad So I've just had to mind what I eat and figure it out as I go along. No one else in my family has ever had an ulcer before, so I guess I'm a trailblazer. A guinea pig.
Gah, my stomach is not happy even as I type this. Apparently ulcers don't like bean & bacon soup. ...

It's been interesting having my sister, her bf and their dog at the house all the time. Especially with everyone's different schedules. I know it's going to wreak havoc on our water bill, which I pay for, but c'est la vie. I like seeing them every day. Smiley

Tonight, my parents are at Disneyland and the rest of us are on our own. I'm chatting with my guy buds, my sister's at work, her bf is asleep and the dog is...well, now she's in my room checking out what I'm doing. Roll Eyes

Hair: Something different. This morning I did a CWC with my light conditioner and my sister's Enjoy hydrating S&C. She's often asked whether I've tried her stuff and, until now, I hadn't. She loves and raves about it, so obviously it works wonders for her hair. But in the words of an old friend, "I don't think it's so plum wonderful." Undecided I dislike the low lather of sulfate-free shampoos, so that was one thing. And the conditioner seemed somewhat thin and full of cones, like using serum and emollients as conditioner, which I also didn't care for. Salon products just never seem to do my hair any favors. But...nothing ventured, nothing gained, eh?
My hair did feel very light and hydrated when it dried though. I only used Suave Kids detangling spray as a leave-in because I wanted to see how the Enjoy products worked without interference from oil or serum. I must say that I do like the light feel and have considered switching to lighter forms of my beloved Pantene products before. Like the Volume collection.

Etc.: I've also learned to avoid Olay Quench bodywash. Like so many others, it leaves a nasty Vaseline-like film. Tongue I had to clean my tub & shower afterwards, which isn't easy with an ulcer.

Speaking of which, I am finally starting to feel better. Whether that's because it's healing or because I've been eating around it, I'm not sure. Ulcers take a long time to heal and may still be present without symptoms, so I'll have to be very careful. The thing I miss most is popcorn. Sad

The bean with bacon soup comment was funny.  What a no-no for an ulcer.  Smiley  I am glad you are feeling better.

Melusine: Yeah, tell me about it. But like I said, no one else in my family has any experience with ulcers, so I have to be the guinea pig and find out what works and what doesn't. Roll Eyes

Hair: Clarified today. I've all but decided to use up my Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo and then my diluted Pantene Purity. At least I won't have to buy clarifying shampoo for quite awhile since I only use it once a week. Grin
This morning, I made 2 vinegar rinses. One with ACV, the other with DWV and used the former first on my hair and then the latter on my body since I'd worn sunblock yesterday. Tongue
Still trying to burn through my supply of Nature Fusion conditioner, as I likely will be for awhile. It kind of sucks having a surplus of it when I don't like it but it's far better than nothing.
Today's only leave-in was Suave Kids detangling spray since I wanted to keep things light. Style is a single braid.

Etc.: Went running around town with my friend T after work yesterday. We hit a Starbucks on the coast, then walked along the beach for awhile before watching the sun set. Then we were off to find dinner...ended up at Mimi's. Smiley He also bought me some avocados and antacids for my ulcer, and offered to pay my water bill. Such a sweet guy...
It was late when I got home. My sister was in one of the guest rooms watching Operator 13 with the dog, so I joined them. When the movie was over, I crashed...and was woken up at 5 AM by my sister's bf leaving for work. Ah well.

Speaking of the ulcer, it is feeling better, though I have to mind it constantly. I've decided to go to urgent care on Saturday to see if they will prescribe something.

I'll bet you could find diet info on-line.  The problem is that with an ulcer there will be certain things you can't eat even with medication.  And, of course, they will be all your favorite things.  Like when I was allergic to chocolate.  Sad

Melusine: Yes, hon. I've been researching everything related to ulcers for over a week now. Wink

Hair: CWC's for the past 2 days. I have my haircare routine down to a science now so there isn't much to report. Yesterday I used EVOO on the ends, today I didn't. Yesterday's style was down and held back with a peacock feather headband. Today's is a single braid. Meh.

Music: Last night, we did an acoustic set in the music room at Lizard's place - it's still intact for now. We went over the set list for Sunday's show, and played a few old hippie relics. Such fun. Wink

Special Ed is certain that I don't have an ulcer. So certain, in fact, that he offered to pay for my visit to urgent care if I do. I told him it was a deal. Wink

Etc.: A co-worker just asked if I'd gotten a new piercing. Heh. I wish. Roll Eyes

Hair: Friday WTC. Still using diluted Ice Shine shampoo, Deep Fortifying treatment and Nature Fusion conditioner. Leave-in's are spray conditioner blend and EVOO. Style is a flipped ponytail.

Etc.: Today is also payday. I'd be more enthusiastic about it if every cent wasn't already spoken for. Namely with tomorrow's medical expenses. Curse this ulcer! Angry

At least I won't need much for the next 2 weeks. Just a few necessities from the store.
No extravagant shopping sprees or worthwhile impulse purchases this time. Just taking care of my health. *sigh*

Not much else to report. I've spent the past few days shaving, plucking, filing and trying to decide what to wear to the house party on Sunday. There may be a live photo shoot that day. Can't have our musicians looking too unkempt, can we? Roll Eyes

Yesterday, I went to the mall for the first time in almost 2 weeks  Shocked only to find that Sephora had completely revamped their eyeshadow collection and raised the price. Darnitall! Now I'll have to start all over. Roll Eyes Grin

I do the same when I have health concerns.  I'm sorry to hear that both your health and how to pay for it can be an issue.  I complain about our NHS here but at least I don't have to worry about costs.  I'll keep that in mind and try to be more grateful for what we have.  It's easy to lose focus and take things for granted that aren't given to others. Embarrassed  From the photo I think I recall seeing of you on here, you look like you can look natural and confident with very little effort. Smiley  Uhm...clumsy wording.

Alright, let's try this one more time. My last two attempts at making this entry failed. Angry

Drear: Thanx, chica...though confidence has never been in my vocabulary. Undecided

Tanai: Yes, guys are immature. I've babysat children who showed more maturity than some of the guys I've known. But bad behavior is a choice...as is tolerating it.
And yes, I am feeling better. But it's going to be a slow recovery.

Hair: Yesterday's activities required large amounts of sunblock, which of course got in my hair, so clarifying was mandatory today. Again, I used Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo and an ACV rinse. My spray conditioner blend was today's only leave-in. Style was the usual single braid.

Just when I had my haircare routine down pat, my schedule had to change. Totally figures. Tongue Clarifying days will probably be moved to Sundays henceforth, and WTC's will probably move to Wednesdays. Perhaps Fridays still as well...we'll see. Undecided

Music: Yesterday's house party was an intimate setting. The "stage" was really just a section of the host's deck in her backyard. A few other bands played there before we arrived. Guests would be sitting just feet from where we played, watching us intently or walking around us, taking pictures and video.
We sucked as usual. John 3:16 messed up the endings of the songs, Lizard forgot the words, my voice cracked, etc. Just like our other live shows. That, coupled with the close proximity to our little audience gave me the biggest case of stage fright I've ever had since I started singing with the band. The few deep breaths that I took didn't help - they were as shaky as I was. Most of the time, I found myself looking down at the set list at my father's feet, counting how many songs we had left before it was over. I was still shaking when it finally was.
The guests and our host wanted more, but I was dead set against it. I wanted to find a nice, dark hole to crawl into and hide. At least it didn't take too long to get home after we finally packed up and left.

As I mentioned, there was video footage. I gave a stranger permission to film us and post us on YouTube.
The host was the photographer who had taken pictures of the band when it first started, and she got some new shots of us yesterday. I imagine those will appear on our website soon.

Etc.: I decided against going to urgent care on Saturday since I was feeling better. Just giving up ibuprofen has helped a lot, and with a careful diet, my ulcer may well heal itself in time.
So naturally, I placed a huge Amazon order instead. Roll Eyes More gothly goods are on their way. Grin

Hair: CWC today. Leave-in's are spray blend in the length, EVOO on the ends. Style is a single braid. All's well.

Boys, Boys, Boys: No word (or links) yet from the band on photo/video stuff from the house party. I'll admit to being morbidly curious how both turned out. Just for the horror factor. Grin

Been texting with guy buds M & R all morning. Such clowns. Love them.
Apparently not on speaking terms with a few others, but under current circumstances, I suppose it's just as well. ...

LD: See below. Wink

Hair: WTC. It's weird saying that on a Wednesday. Oh well.
Washed entire length with Herbal Essences Body Envy shampoo. I figured since I had a huge bottle of it hanging out in my room, why not give it a go just for fun? Roll Eyes The scent is pretty, but the formula seemed to strip my hair. Stupid freaking Herbal Essences. Why did I ever waste a red cent on that crap? Tongue
Anyway, treated for an hour with Pantene 5 Minute Strengthening Mask, then rinsed and finished with Nature Fusion conditioner...I'm down to my last bottle of the stuff. So I suppose it might be good to do 2 treatments a week if not just to use up the products I have but don't like.
Leave-in's were the spray blend on the length and serum on the ends. Hair is down and held back with a slim, black, satin headband.

Etc.: Most of my Amazon stuff arrived today. Cheesy Thank God I was the one who got the mail. My folks would've had a hernia if they'd seen how many packages came for me. Grin So far, I have 3 new shirts, a new pinkie ring and a replacement pair of black crystal earrings (after one mysteriously disappeared in the bathroom). Still waiting on 2 more pairs of earrings but...huzzah! New stuff is always good. Smiley

No band practice tonight as work is keeping my father late. No biggie.

ETA: Just got a few pix from Sunday's house party.

...
The band. Rather obvious which one's me, but as for the guys...left to right: John 3:16, Special Ed, Moon Pie, Cowboy (my dad), Lizard.

...
Dad & I.

We're also on YouTube.
This was shot with a little, digital, handheld camcorder so the sound is pretty bad. Feel free to mute the vid and add your own kick @$$ soundtrack! Grin

Trisha: Hehe, thanx...I guess "cute" is a polite way of saying "freakish little imp," yes? Wink My father, bless his heart, usually doesn't photograph well, but I love that shot because it's genuine. I think he was laughing at something the photographer said.

Hair: The usual CWC. Leave-in's were spray conditioner blend and serum. Style is a single braid. Boring, but it gets the job done.

Etc.: Morning shift again today. Tongue

The ulcer seems to have stagnated in its healing process or may be getting worse. Undecided Next Tuesday will be the 4 week mark. I was planning to reintroduce trace amounts of caffeine into my diet, but now I think I'll wait at least another week. *sigh* What sucks most is not being able to eat the things I like. Oh, and having to drink biotin after dissolving it in water. Bleh! Tongue
