Hair: CWC this morning, which helped clear out the EVOO remains, though I won't feel totally comfortable until I can wash it all tomorrow.
Leave-in's were spray conditioner blend and (a little too much) serum. Undecided Greasy ends equate to mandatory braids.

And speaking of braids, I've begun wondering if it's possible to wash my hair while it's braided. As in using just a 2-in-1 on the top and ignoring the rest. If it works, it would save time and water. Could be an interesting experiment...

As far as changing up bottles, I'm starting to have second thoughts. Pantene bottles are already a perfect, practical size, and pretty posh looking as drugstore brands go. Besides, I'm already known as the resident Pantene queen...why spoil a good thing? Wink As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If I do decide to refresh bottles, why not just get new Pantene bottles? Heh.

Etc.: There's a dead cockroach under my desk. Tongue I don't want to look at it, but it always seems to be in my peripheral vision. Thank goodness I'm not trying to eat at the moment.

No new developments elsewhere. Ta!

*SCREAM*
Go get someone to take it away!!!!  EWEWEWEWEW

Those are the one thing I can't stand!  I am so afraid of them.  I can handle spiders, crickets whatever, but not those, even dead!  I'd be out of the building until it was gone.  LOL

Of course you can, dear.  That's how folks with cornrows wash their hair.  Now, with your hair texture, the question is will it stay braided while you're washing?  It's worth experimenting just to see what happens.   Smiley

MichellR: Grin I'm not afraid of roaches. They just gross me out, whether dead or living. The one under my desk is still there. If I stare at it long enough, I lose my appetite and almost forget how hungry I am. Undecided The custodians will probably take care of it.
Spiders, on the other hand...don't even get me started. Shocked

Trisha: Agreed. I might give it a go sometime this week.

Hair: Another rather unconventional WTC. For years, I'd been curious about Pantene Expressions. My mother has colored hair, so she's used it for years and loves it, and I'd heard people from this site raving about it, so I decided to give it a try. I snuck into my parents' bathroom and took my mother's Red Expressions to borrow.
What I like about the shampoo is that it sparkles. Pouring it into my hand, it looked rich and luxe, like glittery burgundy velvet. When I began working it between my hands, it then resembled blood, which was rather awesome. Wink But sadly, that's where the thrills ended.
What I didn't like was the fact that it lathers less than the other Pantene shampoos. There was also the very distinct smell of ammonia. Tongue So as I was rinsing the stuff out, I checked the ingredients. The first ones listed were water (duh), ammonium lauryl sulfate Shocked and ammonium laureth sulfate. Shocked Holy chemistry, Batman! Why not just use Windex? Shocked Tongue My hair felt understandably stripped once I'd finished rinsing. Needless to say, this was the last time I would use Pantene Expressions.

Anyway, the rest of the treatment went as usual...kind of. I used a combination of the Deep Fortifying Treatment and Strengthening Mask (because there wasn't much left of the former). Left it in for over an hour while scarfing instant mash and doing various complexion masques on my face and chest...I'm badly broken out at the moment. Sad
After all of that was done, I rinsed out the hair treatment and chased it with Red Expressions conditioner. Had to finish what I started, of course.
Leave-in's were spray conditioner blend and EVOO...the latter of which made my hair greasy (as usual), so I had to braid it when it dried.

Etc.: Well, all of my things are packed and waiting in the car to be taken to Point Loma, which is where I'm going after I get out of here. Not before hitting the bank, though...it is payday. Undecided I'd be more enthused if it was enough to get me by...but it's not. I'm hoping that my relatives have left me a check at their house. Actually, I'm hoping for a lot of things. You'd think I would have learned by now. Roll Eyes

Trisha: Thanks. Smiley

Hair: Clarified today, though the past few days haven't been kind to it. I can logically credit the moderate dryness at the ends to crappy showerheads that spray everywhere except where I need it. Roll Eyes We all know the kind...with 90 settings and all of them suck. And the standard "shower" setting has a wide ring of water along the outside and nothing in between, so you literally have to run around in the shower to get wet. These things kill my hair, but my relatives seem to be quite fond of them. It makes me want to run out and get a separate showerhead solely for housesitting.

It may also be responsible for the über-greasy roots of late...although they could also have something to do with the fish oil that I've been taking. Undecided

Ahem. With that little rant aside, everything else is behaving normally. A spray conditioner leave-in and a single braid for today.

Etc.: On Saturday, my friend T drove down from LA to escape the nagging at home and rescue my poor, starving, hopeless keister from ruin. He bought me groceries and a few days worth of gas, and took me out to eat a few times in exchange for my melodramatic, ulcer-ridden company. Roll Eyes By the way, ladies, he's quite single. Grin

Today, the dead cockroach is still under my desk at work and my awesomely wonderful, spectacular win of a bank has frozen my accounts for no good reason. Cheesy

Tra la la...

Hair: CWC with Suave Ocean Breeze conditioner, full strength Ice Shine shampoo and Nature Fusion conditioner. As yesterday, my only leave-in was the spray conditioner blend, and when I get a break, I'll braid it all.

The old bottle of Full & Thick shampoo that I'd been refilling melted in the dishwasher, so I tossed it along with the matching conditioner bottle. I also ran out of the ocean breeze scented light conditioner today, so I'll have to pick up another light conditioner from home when I get there. Maybe I'll finish off the lavender lilac that's still sitting in my bathroom cabinet. Out with the old, in with the new, I guess.

Music: Practice tonight. I'm going home after work today so I can drive my father to Lizard's place when he gets home.

Etc.: Housesitting = histamine hell! Tongue I don't have allergies, but a bad combination of air conditions can cause serious sinus issues. I've been sneezing my brains out and blowing my nose until it bleeds. There had better be some Benadryl at home... Undecided

Histamine hell here too *cheers!*.  Don't know how else to show sympathy. Embarrassed  It's not aircondition.  It's just "life".

I'm envious of people who live in your area.  Nearly, no matter what interests they have, they can go "downtown" or at least locally find something related to their interests or needs.

Drear: Cheers! Thank God for the Claritin-D that my mother handed me yesterday evening before practice or I never would have been able to sing. At least not without sneezing all over the mic...and my band brothers...and blowing my nose every 2 seconds. Tongue

And yeah, it is just "life." I haven't used a/c at the beach house where I've been staying. My sinuses are just neurotic. Tongue

You're quite right about the area that I live having something for everyone. Most major counties are pretty diverse due to high population. But that also means it's more expensive to live there. Undecided

Hair: WTC. The strengthening mask is almost gone, so I've decided to save what's left of it for next week and forego another WTC on Friday.
Leave-in's were spray conditioning blend and serum. Hair is air dried and combed, but I haven't braided it yet. Were it not 100° outside, I'd consider just leaving it down.

Music: Practice was good last night, but long. Lizard put a few bass bins in the room...because we're not loud enough as it is, I guess. Roll Eyes During our break, the boys all had bbq chicken, beans and corn on the cob. I sat alone, sipping alkaline water. *sigh*
They still aren't convinced that I have an ulcer (despite absolutely textbook symptoms) since I haven't seen a doctor. But I'm not about to jeopardize the healing process even for a band bbq. And I trust my mother's instincts about what ails me more than, say, my beloved but drug-addicted rhythm player's. Hehe. Sorry, Ed. Roll Eyes

One funny thing that happened was a grasshopper decided to join us for our second set. It mostly hung out on the wall, but at the end of the night, it jumped toward me and landed right on my mic stand. I pointed it out to my brothers, who got a kick out of it. It was actually kind of cute.

Etc.: Expectant mothers everywhere. My sister's bff is due next month, and my friend M and his wife are expecting their second in March of 2010. What drives people to procreate in today's world I'll never understand, but I wish the best for all of them. They'll need all the prayers they can get. Roll Eyes

Hair: CWC. I actually forgot to bring a light conditioner back to the beach house, so I just borrowed my cousin's Paul Mitchell. She won't mind...she won't even know.
Leave-in's were the spray conditioner blend and serum. A bit too much of the latter forced a contained hairstyle, and I didn't bring a hairtie to work. Thus..., pencil bun. Roll Eyes

Etc.: After getting the dishes washed, the animals fed and myself ready, I ended up being almost 20 minutes late for work. Angry On top of that, I forgot everything that I had intended to bring home from the beach house. Preparedness is a virtue. Roll Eyes Oh well. I'll be stopping at home after work to check the mail and see if Target has any early Halloween merch out yet.

Tomorrow is my last day of housesitting, thank goodness! My sinuses can't take much more. Undecided

Hair: Well, I'm home now, and this morning, that meant compensating for the things that I couldn't do while housesitting. I did a W-CWC, with an ACV rinse after the first wash, to get the roots super clean. No leave-in's, which meant that my hair dried quickly. Then, I combed it out and pinned it up in a loose bun. I'm not really sure what else to do with it...but it's clean. Roll Eyes

Nails: They were screaming for attention when I got home, so I used my dull purple nail clippers for the last time before tossing them, then filed my nails into shape with an equally dull file. Yes, I need new nail supplies. Undecided
Anyway, after pushing back my cuticles and priming, I covered my nails with 1 coat of shiny black and 1 coat of sparkly black. They're drying as I type this, and I may finish with a sparsely glittered topcoat. We'll see. I've noticed that I often gravitate toward black polishes toward the end of each month. Perhaps to signify the death of one month and the birth of another...everything begins and ends in darkness. Or something.

Etc.: My skin was tame enough to exfoliate this morning, so I didn't waste time, and it now seems grateful for the effort. I still need to work on my eyebrows and do laundry.

It's good to be "home," and indeed, nothing says welcome back like a shopping spree for all new shower stuff. I decided to replace the half-arsed attempt at a gothic shower collection with more practical options and ended up very pleased with the results. Instead of darkish colors and stark, label-less bottles, I now have a sophisticated collection of water-themed products in wintry shades of white, blue and silver. But I haven't yet put them all in there together just yet as I'm still using up the old stuff. Nature Fusion, begone!

Hair: Clarified, not yet braided. Today's only leave-in was the spray conditioner blend. I seem to be losing quite a lot of hair lately...and it's not like I have much to begin with. Undecided Or perhaps it's the usual amount and I'm just noticing it more. If it insists on falling out at such a rate, I wish it would do so when I could conveniently harvest it all, instead of when I'm out and about. Roll Eyes

Anyway, just a few more days before my Nature Fusion conditioner runs out, thank goodness. Then, I'll go back to Ice Shine.

Etc.: Michaels seems to be the only place in SoCal to catch the faintest glimpse of fall. Temps have been in the 100's, and every other store seems to be dragging its heels with fall merch. For the most part, they all seem to still be hung up on end-of-summer clearances and back-to-school merch (much of which are obnoxiously-colored, chintzy, plastic dorm items). Tomorrow is September, people. Get with the program and make with the pumpkins already. Roll Eyes

Yesterday, I bought Lady Gaga's album, The Fame. It's mahvelous, hunnay.

And the dead cockroach has finally been removed from under my desk. Yay.

I like your new avatar.  Maleficent (sorry if I misspelled it) is awesomely evil, so I'm wondering if "One twisted sister" refers to her or you?

I got The Fame while I was in Indonesia and I agree, its mahvelous.

Perhaps for Halloween, you could put a big fake rat under your desk.  I like the fuzzy ones from Michael's.  Or a tarantula.

Sakina: Grin Believe me, the fewer things in the bacterial abyss that is under my desk, the better. It's a cute idea though. And thanx for the compliment on my av. Your spelling was right on the money. The phrase refers to both of us, but more specifically me. Maleficent didn't have any known siblings. Wink

Hair: CWC. Finally emptied my bottle of Suave Soothing Lavender Lilac light conditioner, and tomorrow I'll start on Tropical Coconut. Slowly but surely, the "ice water" themed products are working their way in as the rather lacklustre (luster?) attempt at darkly colored (coloured?) shower stuff runs out. Ah me, I never can decide if I want to take British or American spelling. Roll Eyes

Anywho, today, of course, was measure day, so my hair has been down. I measured after work and came out at 27". Tied with Maggie's old record again, which isn't bad, but I'd love to pass it. My hair will stay down unless I go out someplace later, which doesn't seem likely. There probably won't be a band practice tonight, which is just as well since I'd rather sleep anyway. I've been up since 3 AM. Roll Eyes

Etc.: In ulcer news, today marks 6 weeks aspirin-free. In 2 more weeks, I'll begin reintroducing normal foods in moderation, beginning with easier substances like peanut butter, chocolate and trace amounts of caffeine. I've also discovered that using my expired EVOO as an ulcer treatment is a great way to get rid of it faster. I loathe it in my hair, so why not?
