MichelleR: That's why they call it doing the rain dance! Smiley

Trisha: Nope, so far, so good. Wink

Hair: CWC. Obviously. I did away with the leave-in spray blend that killed the lather of my shampoo. For the past few days, I've been using Pantene Strengthening Leave-in Spray and not particularly liking it. Undecided Only because I don't notice it actually doing anything for my hair. It dries feeling like it normally does if I don't use any leave-in's at all. I mostly just bought it for the bottle anyway, and once it's empty, I'll pour my Suave Kids detangling spray into it.

No style today. Hair has been down, though I'll probably braid it before my walk tonight.

Nails: Amazing what a second topcoat can do. My nails look like black patent vinyl and are much shinier than other women's nails that I've seen. I'll have to remember this little trick in the future. Wink

Etc.: Sent 2 résumés out today.

Did a bit of shopping as well, and I'm finding that chain stores have pretty good stuff right now. Especially Target. I got 3 fab new bras and a few little snacks for what one bra at Victoria's Secret would have cost. I also discovered that Walmart now stocks Hard Candy cosmetics, and they make a few interesting items. Wink

I'm sorry your leave-in isn't working.  I didn't like what the spray leave-ins did for me so I've switched to the cream kind I can rub between my palms and distribute exactly where I want it plus I have better control of the amount.  It's not a runny cream.  I've also had a less itchy scalp since ditching the spray leave-in.  Nivea Intense Repair Comb-in cream is what the one I'm using now is called.  Took me a while to figure out which way to use it for the best result.  Definitely not near the top of the hair closest to the scalp!

Curlgirl: Anytime. Smiley And the reply feature for PM's rarely works, so you usually just have to send a new PM to the person.

Drear: I don't know if it isn't working at all; it's just not working like a leave-in conditioner...which it isn't. It's a strengthening spray. I just haven't noticed any extraordinary effects on my hair. I have tried leave-in crèmes in the past and they have all left a gummy residue. Tongue My hair is extremely fine and needs very light leave-in's with tons of slip.

Hair: Clarified yesterday with the usual Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo and a DWV rinse. Conditioned with Pantene Volume, which is...eh, only ok. Not bad or anything, but it doesn't rock my world either. The new strengthening spray was my only leave-in.

Today, I did a CWC with Herbal Essences Body Envy shampoo instead of my usual Pantene Volume...just for the heck of it. Also used Suave Kids leave-in conditioning spray instead of the Pantene strengthening spray. My fruit bat tendencies seem to be amplified all of a sudden, and I'm in the mood for a change. Not sure if it's temporary or permanent, but I'm going with it.

Yesterday's style was a single braid, which it always is on clarifying days, but I don't want to do another single braid today. The weather has heated up again, which calls for some kind of updo...just not sure what. It could end up as complex as a flipped ponytail with a rope braid or as simple as a messy bun. I'll figure it out.

Etc.: Caught a sunset at the coast yesterday and wrote a bit. I hadn't done that in forever. On the drive out and back, I listened to Willie Nelson's version of September Song almost exclusively. It's fitting with the days growing shorter.
Upon returning, I fixed a modest dinner, went for my nightly walk through the neighbourhood, exercised and even danced a bit. My entire body was knackered after that, so I washed up and went to bed.

As of now, I'm getting ready to go store hopping even though I look an absolute wreck. Tongue Peace.

Alright so better late then never right?

I wasn't aware that adult men could do that. Huh  Which... is why I have a small inkling that perhaps T likes Angel romantically, but I decided to Lips Sealed.  Grin

And the irony of my friendship with T isn't because of indiscretions on his part, but because of our personal differences. Grin I had one of those as well. And I found it really odd when I realized that I actually missed him when he moved away. People certainly weren't mistaking us for friends.  Roll Eyes

Sorry about your job Angel. N'er a truer song was probably sung then "That's Life."

Bah banks suck. It's not much of a wonder that my Grandma never had a bank account and paid everything in cash.

Camera phones are crap, the hair style looks lovely however.  Wink

Tanai: Amen, sista. But we didn't get any rain. Not a bloody drop. Sad That's how it works when you need something, eh?

Hair: Another CWC, but with Herbal Essences Totally Twisted shampoo this time. Mmm...
I actually bought 2 Herbal Essences conditioners this morning just to try them out: Hello Hydration and Long Term Relationship. I don't have stellar expectations or anything...just for fun/out of curiosity.
Today's leave-in's were the strengthening spray on the length and serum on the ends. The combination seems to work rather well. Smiley Style is a flipped ponytail.

Etc.: Did some more lingerie shopping at a different Target this morning. Out with the old, in with the new. Of course, I'm not going to give Victoria's Secret the brush...not completely. I love their fragrances, and one of my aunts sends me a VS giftcard every year for Christmas. Wink They just won't be getting as much of my coin as before.

In other news, my sister has fallen quite ill all of a sudden and has been in bed all day.
Our local tap water supply is even more toxic than usual, so we have a boil-only order. Tongue
And there's a Boris Karloff marathon on TCM, Devil's Night. Cool

Hope your sis is ok and feels better!
I have the Herbal Essences Helloo Hydration shampoo and conditioner for my experiment.  Will pick up Totally Twisted and another one in their line for moisture.  Just the conditioners though!  I saw there are a few ingredients in the shampoo that I'm not happy with so the poos are out!  So be careful  with the shampoos.

Curlgirl64: The Hello Hydration shampoo contains harsh cleansers (ammonium lauryl & laureth sulfates), so I avoid it.
My sis is better today. Thanx. Smiley She's one of those people who take on more than they can handle and end up burning out.

Hair: WCC today with Herbal Essences Totally Twisted shampoo, Long Term Relationship conditioner and Suave Ocean Breeze conditioner. My hair smelled great but seemed rather dry all over. Then I noticed that the dry patches on my neck are beginning to reappear. *sigh* Already with this?
So tomorrow, I'll be shelving Herbal Essences for awhile and going back to Pantene.

Today's only leave-in was the strengthening spray that I'm not fond of. Style is a bun made with 2 bobby pins.

Etc.: More Target shopping. More lingerie and a couple of new shirts. What a tramp I am. Embarrassed Roll Eyes Hopefully, I'll have unemployment coming soon. No leads lately. Sad

Curlgirl64: Ammonium lauryl is the harshest sulfate out there.

Hair: CWC with Pantene Volume S&C, Suave Ocean Breeze conditioner, and a DWV rinse before the final conditioning. Back to my brand of normal. Leave-in's were strengthening spray and serum. Style was a funky, twisted updo with a black rose barrette to cover a spot that looked a bit weird for decoration. Wink It came out while I was changing clothes a few minutes ago to go walking, and I'm not going to bother putting it back in. Since I walk at night, I don't care so much what I look like and the only accessory I need is my iPod. Roll Eyes

Music: My father's band played Bates Nut Farm this afternoon. Holy Hades, was it crowded. Shocked And my stomach was upset, so I wanted to just hide in the van the entire time. Instead, I ended up spending most of my time by the stage.
The band had 3 gigs this weekend and sounded great at all of them, but my dad was relieved when it was all over and glad to finally put the guitar down and hang out at home.

Etc.: My sister's bff and her family came to the show, and she let me hold her month old daughter for the first time. Smiley

Speaking of family, I texted my cousin last night to inquire about plans for the annual haunted house. She says it's uncertain whether it will happen this year, but she will keep me apprised.

Anyway, that's most of what's going on in Angel's world at the moment. Stay tuned...

Curlgirl64: Egad.

Hair: CWC with Suave Ocean Breeze light conditioner, Herbal Essences Body Envy shampoo and Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner. By now, I'm quite convinced that Herbal Essences products are shamefully inferior to my Pantene; and they don't even smell that fantastic, really. I don't know why I still give in to the urge to use something different when what I have works perfectly. Roll Eyes Testament to the artist's nature, I suppose.
Anyway, leave-in's were Suave Kids detangling spray and serum, which left the ends gummy again. Tongue Style was a wonky single braid.

Etc.: Stayed indoors until after dusk, as we pallid vampire types are wont to do, but the weather this evening was so nice that all I wanted was to be out in it. So I splashed my face, dabbed on a bit of concealer and left, not caring about anything else and having no particular destination. Carefree...the perfect way to hit the road. So long as Sinatra was still spinning in my car's CD player, I was good. I ended up at the Viejas outlet center, tracing the walkways in the dark, absorbing the clear air. They already had some of their Christmas decorations up. Aye, it will be that time of year again very soon.

In other news, I've been invited to a 3-D screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday. I've been yearning for a road trip to LA for years, and what could be better than going with a group of friends? My buddy T lives in the area, of course, so he'll be meeting us. It'll be a gas. Cool

My Point Loma relatives have also invited me to housesit this weekend, which will hopefully bring in a little extra cash. Perhaps we'll discuss doing the haunted house this year when they return.

Drear: No Sinatra?! Shocked And you call yourself a vintage enthusiast. Roll Eyes Grin

Hair: Yesterday was an honest to goodness Friday WTC, just like I used to do, except I finished with Herbal Essences conditioner instead of Suave. Gotta use it up somehow, I suppose. Strengthening spray was the sole leave-in and the style was a single braid.

Hollywood, Baby: Cool A swinging good time. The drive up was long but pleasant. 3 other female goths and I spent the time talking music, sharing dating horror stories and cracking one-liners. Once we reached LA, I could not contain my enthusiasm; especially once T joined us outside the El Capitan. The buildings, the lights, the droves of people...even though I'm no stranger to said environments, I guess I'd been out of them long enough to have just a twinge of that "little country mouse in a big city" feeling.
The El Capitan is even more beautiful on the inside than its famous facade. Colorful, ornate and heavily gilded floor to ceiling with an elaborate stage and a pipe organ, I couldn't help but think of it as a fantastic, though intimate, concert venue.
Our group had reserved seating and got free popcorn and drinks. We also went downstairs to see the movie memorabilia set up for the event. Not much, aside from storyboard sketches and the curling hill prop used in the film, which were still cool to see.
Before the screening, they had a one-on-one interview with the director, Henry Selick, and Ken Page came out to do his Oogie Boogie theme song.

After the movie, the lot of us - 10 in all - went across the street to the Kodak Theatre mall and had dinner at Johnny Rockets.  From there, we began to go our separate ways, and after helping T find his car, the 4 of us headed home...talking music, sharing dating horror stories and cracking one-liners. What a great night! I am now quite certain that I could live in LA if need be. I absolutely love that city.

Etc.: Is it seriously after 11:00?! I really haven't been up that long, but that's what I get for going to bed after 2 AM. Roll Eyes Soon I'll jump in the shower and do a W-CWC since my hair gets gross if I go past 11 AM without washing. After that, I suppose I'll start packing for Point Loma. God willing, my sister, her bf and the dog won't completely trash the house while I'm gone. As yet, I'm not sure if I'll have internet access while I'm away, so if y'all don't hear from me for a few days, that's why. As if you care. Roll Eyes

TTFN!
