Whoah. Do you commonly blend your conditioners and shampoos?  Shocked

No worries about the parents. I'm actually very much the same way when I'm visiting or vice versa.

Really nice pic! Have you heard of Gothic Lolita? I thought of it almost immediately, especially with your frame and your coloring.
I can totally imagine you digging stuff like:

or

The shop even has some more casual stuff, like this:

La Diosa: Well, pink & black striped. Technically, I guess it's more of a magenta now that I've washed it with freshly-dyed-black items. But it used to be dark pink. Roll Eyes

KNS: Shampoos, yes. Conditioners, no. But since I have 2 Herbal Essences conditioners, I may as well use them rather than let them go to waste. So I'm combining them with my usual Pantene. I do blend pretty much everything else - shampoos, bodywashes, facewashes, leave-in conditioners, etc. I'm quite the mad scientist. ...

Of course I've heard of Gothic Lolita. That's funny. While I do admire much of the Japanese goth fashions, I don't follow them...and I never wear short skirts. Grin The top is pretty cute though.
My style is generally pretty caj~ with the classic elements of punk, Beat, Victorian, deathrock, etc. but not in excess. Mature goths tend to save the fashion extremes for clubs, events and the stage.

Hair: Felt the need for a good cleaning today, so I did a WCC with an ACV rinse after the wash. My hair smelled like cooooconuts afterwards, thanks to both conditioners. Smiley
Leave-ins were the same: Suave Kids spray conditioner on the length and ELOO on the ends. My hair gets along better with ELOO than with her heavier, more potent sister. Roll Eyes

Style wise, I decided to try something new and went with a looped ponytail (oh dear God!) with the ends wrapped loosely around the hairtie and the sides of the loop pinned up. I found a tutorial for it online from yet another "celebrity stylist" and decided to give it a go. It's alright...nothing spectacular.

Etc.: My cousin is having a casino party at her house for her 18th tomorrow. Both my father and hers will be part of the live band. Yes, my uncle is a drummer. Music is all over this family. Roll Eyes
Anyway, I now have a new, autumnal manicure for the festivities. Deep plum with a metallic cordovan finish. Pretty striking against fair skin. Eat your heart out, OPI. Roll Eyes

Anyway, as for now, I'm headed to a local casino with the 'rents, my grandpa and his girlfriend.

And the lesson for today, kids: do not attempt your wicked air guitar spins in the shower!

Cheers!

I've lost and I've gained and while I was thinking
You cut off my hands when I wanted to twist
If you know how to dance to Boney Maroney
He's doing the ballet on both of his wrists

Hair: CWC + the usual leave-ins for the last 2 days. Yesterday's style was a flipped ponytail, today's is a single braid. The ends don't seem to be suffering too badly for the lack of weekly deep conditioning treatments.

Etc.: The party went well, though it was very crowded. The food was great - catered by Pizza Nova, and they had a chocolate fountain. The band was decent for only getting together maybe once or twice a year. My father did a few songs with them, and they did one of his regular tunes. When the band was done, the teenage girls took over the PA and danced in a circle while singing along with horrible pop songs of their choosing...like a jr. high dance. But they all had fun, and my cousin had a great birthday.
The table games were very popular. Even my grandpa & his girlfriend got in on the action. I had a strange headache for much of the evening and wasn't really digging the crowds, so I kept to myself as usual. Though I did make the mistake of telling the band's guitarist that I was a singer, which led to a conversation or two. Roll Eyes He was the 2nd person in 2 weeks to mistake me for an 18-year-old. I'm on a roll. Grin

Today seems a little less eventful so far. I've been hanging out and getting some laundry done. Ah, domesticity. Roll Eyes

when the autumn weather
turns leaves to flame,
one hasn't got time
for the waiting game
oh, the days dwindle down
to a precious few
September, November
and these few precious days
I'll spend with you
these precious days
I'll spend with you

Is it December yet? Undecided

No new job leads to speak of, but I'm growing weary of life on the dole. *sigh*

Hair routine was the same as yesterday's. Nothing to report there, though I did have to mix up a new shampoo blend this morning. Half Pantene Ice Shine, half Bath & Body Works moisturizing shampoo in the mango mandarin scent.

When I've finally exhausted the last drop of my shampoo supply (say 50 years from now), I'd like to try using a 2-in-1 instead, perhaps in place of the CW in the CWC. It would save time & money if it worked.

What else, what else? My father is having a meeting with the rhythm section of his band tonight, so all sorts of strange noises are coming out of that end of the house. Roll Eyes
At one point, I overheard him talking about my voice with the guys and couldn't help but listen in a bit. He raved that I was "great" and "pitch perfect," but also said that I "hated to sing." Huh

Correction: I love to sing...just not in front of people. ...

Embarrassed
You and your crazy blends! Latest one sounds intriguing, if deadly for poor little me. Mango = poison ivy, as far as my skin is concerned.

There's nothing wrong with hating to sing in front of other people. Studies have shown that it's one of the things that many people are really insecure about. It can be an extremely personal form of self-expression, and is no surprise many are reluctant to share that with strangers and receive impersonal criticism.

I'm the same way about singing.  Put me in front of people and I'm reduced to a bowl of quivering jelly.  But I have noticed, that I'm much more comfortable in front of a bunch of perfect strangers (i.e. karaoke bar) than in front of a small group of people I know.

KNS: There's no actual mango in it, babe. Just in the name. They make other scents as well.

MichelleR: Same here (minus the karaoke bars!). I almost never get nervous onstage in front of the masses, though it has happened on occasion. Singing for friends or family, I may just as easily stab myself in the eye. It takes a long time before I'm comfortable enough with anyone to do that...if ever. I can't even belt it out in front of my own band sometimes. It's embarrassing. Roll Eyes Safe to say that I'm my own biggest obstacle to my musical career.

Hair: Another CWC, this time with the new shampoo blend. It smells like I'm washing my head with orange peels. Cheesy
Of course, that's all short lived as my hair usually ends up just smelling like hair no matter what I've used in it. Roll Eyes

At this very moment, I'm hanging out in my backyard, waiting for the mess to finish drying. It already looks as though the ends will be heavy with ELOO, which always demands some type of updo. I suppose I can do my usual crazy twists or whatever.

Music: Not a word yet from the boys about a jam tonight. Perhaps there isn't one.
Lizard (or the lot of us) needs to write some new stuff if we're going to try to keep this thing going. He's got one already that could be a solid pop tune if done right. The lyrics could use a little tweaking though.

Etc.: What else is there? Only the usual. I need medication and oral surgery but can't afford either one. ... this economy, man! We need to get the pennies flowing again...preferably without the government's "help."

Alright, my popcorn is done. Cheers!

How deeply frustrating about the surgery you need to have.  Yeah, I agree with KNS and feel the same way about performances as many others do.  Well, I've never done karaoke, strangely I find it less intimidating when I've had to memorize a set of songs and sing in front of strangers.  Haven't sung since 1986 so who the am I to comment!  I do remember taking my glasses off before going on stage.

Drear: Yes, it's more frustrating than you can imagine. All I can do is hope for the best.

Hair: Overnight conditioning treatment with Suave Tropical Coconut last night, clarified this morning. I have combined my two clarifying shampoos (diluted versions of Pantene Purity and Herbal Essences Drama Clean) into one. DWV rinse this time, no leave-ins, single braid.

Etc.: Another day wasted with no new leads and nothing accomplished. How terribly productive. Tongue Let's see, then, if I can't at least pull a few lyrics out of my arse.

So last night, I ended up driving to the coast in the dark with Willie Nelson's Stardust album spinning in the CD player. It would have been a more serene experience had I not been so worried about frying the engine as my car is behind on regular maintenance and low on oil. Embarrassed Such is life on the dole.

But all of that was temporarily forgotten once I'd reached the shore. There isn't much electric light by the water, so you're more or less immersed in a sort of dark, salty, swirling, surreal kind of atmosphere. Like walking through a Lassen painting. The sea, the sky, the stars, the clouds...the beach at night is the most beautiful thing in the world. It's moments like this that make me truly grateful to live where I do.

Most of the shops and galleries in the area were closed when I got there, so I went to Starbucks and meandered a bit. Didn't get any writing done, but the white mocha and vanilla scones were pretty darn good...and it was a huge relief to get out of the house for awhile.

Sinatra on the way back. I sang along - been awhile since I stretched out the lower range of the ol' chords. Roll Eyes Ended up at Walmart. Tongue I hate Walmart with passionate conviction, but I survive (not live, mind you) on unemployment for the time being and was in need of a few trifles before heading home. It was difficult to resist the glitter mascaras and dark lip glosses, but somehow, I managed. Roll Eyes

Crashed early last night, but was awakened at ungodly hours with shooting pains from my neck straight into my brain, or at least that's how it seemed. Gosh darn these firm pillows! So I got up and took a few generic Tylenol. Just as I was beginning to doze off again, my sister's boyfriend's alarm went off...twice...and he was up getting ready for work.
Sigh.

Late start this morning, but I've exercised and made my bed. At the moment, I'm sitting here typing this entry and trying to figure out why AOL Radio is playing Bela Lugosi's Dead on an '80's station when the song came out in 1979. Huh

Hair-wise, it's the usual routine whenever I finally get around to taking a shower. CWC with my fruit-infused Pantene stuff, Suave Kids leave-in conditioner on the length, ELOO on the ends. Style will depend on what I'm wearing, and that will depend on the weather, of course.

Undead, undead, undead...
Yeah, guess that's all for today. Peace.

*shock!*  I replied to your last entry last evening.  I must've fallen asleep at the keyboard.  I don't remember how I got into bed. Huh

Sigh.

So yesterday, at around 3:30 AM, some douchebag threw a HUGE rock through the passenger side window of my sister's car, broke in and stole her school bag and everything within, including her $400 Louis Vuitton wallet. The rock smashed up the interior of her car - much of it will have to be replaced. ... This is not the best year for my family.

Spent the morning looking up phone numbers so she could cancel all of her credit cards, etc. The thief had already used a few of them, but my sis cancelled them before they could charge anything major.

After the police reports, etc., my sis & I ran around all day getting estimates from the insurance company and the repair shop. She also got the passenger window replaced.

Upon returning home, I cleaned my own car, but ended up having to park it in the street, where my sister's was vandalized. I checked on it this morning, though, and all's well.

Between washing my car and exercising last night, my muscles are still tired...but I lost a pound, so that's good. ...

In hair news, I found my missing bottle of Pantene strengthening spray last night under my driver's seat. It would be good to start using it again, if not just to empty the bottle and fill it with something else.

Same routine as ever. CWC, leave-in spray on length, ELOO on ends. I've discovered that with my wild hairpiece, I can hilariously almost replicate Ian McCulloch's "peacock" 'do from the '80's on myself. Grin I'd love to wear it onstage like that just once...just to see if anyone gets it, but I have to dye the hairpiece first. It's blonde. Roll Eyes

So that's what's going on in Angel's world at the moment. I've actually been debating switching my screen name here again. Roll Eyes When I created this one, I thought it was too hokey for words and it hasn't grown on me since then. Quite the opposite. But we'll see.

Bye for now.

I'm really sorry to hear about your sister's car!  I hope the creep is caught or at least has the same done to him(or her)!  People can be such garbage!  Thank God she was able to cancel the credit cards before any major purchases were made.
Hope you are feeling less sore!  Try a banana, sweet potato or craisins for the soreness.  The potassium will help the lactic acid move out of your body.

How horrible that someone broke into your sisters car. Shocked  Hopefully, yours will be safe.

Ugh...I've been wanting to change my screen name for a while now. However, my screen name is also in my journals title, so there's no point in it for me Tongue
