This is horrible for your sister!  Not just because of what they took but the damage break ins cause, often cost more in repairs (if possible) than what's stolen.  So you're hit twice over.

Sorry to hear about your sister's car! That really sucks, when it happens. I hope whatever insurance she has helps cover most of the damage and losses. I know homeowner's insurance will help with car breakins, so...
I usually try to avoid the whole problem by religiously leaving NOTHING in my car. If I do leave anything, I hide it in the trunk or glove compartment, so there's no reason to suspect that there's anything worth stealing from my car. Sad

Ooo, new user name! Will you be sticking with the Angel theme if you do change?  Smiley

Sorry to hear about the break-in!  I hope she's able to get everything fixed and start to feel better about it soon.

Curlgirl64: Thanx for the suggestions. I did have a giant baked potato, which seemed to help.

LD: You could always start a new journal with your new s/n.

Drear: Fortunately, my sis has full coverage, 0 deductible, so repairs won't cost her a thing. The costly part will be replacing what she lost. Undecided

KNS: I'm the same way, with the exception of a few CD's and a spare pair of shades in the console.
Conversely, my sister's entire life is usually in her car. Some people have to learn the hard way. Undecided

Of course. Wink

MichelleR: After a few days of sleeping it off, I think she's come to terms with it. The repair appointment is today.

Hair: Sad state of affairs today. After day 2 with the strengthening spray, I got sick of waking up with impossible tangles and dumped it. Tongue Saved the bottle, though, and refilled it with my leave-in conditioner. Now no one knows that I'm cheaping out with Suave Kids. Well, except for anyone who reads this. Roll Eyes

It's after 11:00 and I haven't had a shower yet, so I'm Swamp Thing. Tongue Going to remedy that right now, actually, with a CWC and a vinegar rinse.

Etc.: Finally getting back into my bass guitar studies after countless months away. Wish me luck.

Trisha: Indeed, though she's recovering well enough. Her SUV is now in the shop for repairs and her bf got her a brand new Coach wallet for Christmas (though she doesn't know yet). Roll Eyes

Hair: Same old song and dance. CWC, leave-in conditioner, ELOO. It works, though I may simplify the routine even more in the future.

Made up a new conditioner blend with Pantene Moisture Renewal and the last of my Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. And I'm now using Suave soothing lavender lilac for a light conditioner.

Yesterday's style was the twisted updo, which is fast becoming my favourite style. Everyone says it's really cute and it takes 5-10 minutes to do. Plus it looks different every time. It would be a great style for work if 1.) my hair would dry faster in the morning, and 2.) I had a job to go to. Sad

Today I'm feeling a flipped ponytail for some reason. Perhaps with the tail rope braided.

Also, I took my last biotin today and tossed the bottle out to recycle. Good riddance! I won't waste money on hair vitamins again.

Random observation, what's with girls putting their hair up in high loop ponytails? As if the looped ponytail thing wasn't enough of a faux pas, now they bring it up to the top of their heads. Some even put clips in to make the loops stand straight up. Why do girls think this looks good? Huh

Etc.: Caught Liverpool's match against Debrecen yesterday. Oh the humanity. They won, but won't be moving onto the final 16 games. I feel sorry for the fans.

Thanksgiving...tomorrow...we're doing nothing. My sis and her bf have to work and my parents are going to Disneyland, leaving yours truly to join in on whatever my other local relatives end up doing...or not. My immediate family didn't do anything for Halloween either, so whatever.

With the economy as it is, I've had to consider selling my car with only 20 payments to go. Hoping like he[ck] that it doesn't come to that, but more people are losing jobs than finding them right now, and unemployment checks will eventually stop coming.
All this so our government can finance a pointless war.

Alright, my finger is starting to hurt again. I cut one of my nails back too far and exposed the tip of the nail bed. Yesterday, I struck it on a belt loop and it started bleeding. By last night, the pain was so intense, it was making me nauseous. Tongue It's a bit better today, but I still have to be careful. Time to stop typing.

Ack! So many styles I haven't heard about!
Twisted updo?
Looped pony's? Like, where you don't pull the tail through the entire way on the last pull-through?
I've heard of flipped pony's...  Embarrassed

What was wrong with the biotin? Been thinking about trying it, but I'm sooo bad about remembering to take pills in the morning.  Tongue

Eesh! That made me cringe. I hate cutting fingernails to the quick! Although lately, I only get there if I rip a fingernail. The last time I had that happen, I tried sealing the area with Nu-Skin and the result was so painful and the area was throbbing enough that it actually scared me. I think I'll try gauze wrap with electrical tape next time. Hope your finger feels better soon!

Yeah, that's my mainstay. Patented. Cool Grin Wink

Exactly. The lazy girl's "style." Quite common among jr. high - college aged girls and soccer moms. Tongue Only now, the younger gens are putting this on top of their heads for some reason. Sodding ridiculous.

It did nothing for me. If you have a healthy diet anyway, vitamins are pointless.
And perhaps you could take them with dinner?

Shocked Egad, now you're making me cringe. I've heard horror stories about skin sealants.

Thanx. Well, that one does...but 2 more are sore now thanks to my bass. Roll Eyes

Hair: Past midday and I still haven't had a shower. Tongue Not my fault, as I was pulled out in public early this morning to go out to breakfast with the family. I powdered my roots and used the blowfryer on them, at my sister's suggestion, so they weren't "gray." Then after much combing and brushing, the rest went back into a bun with the ends left out to fall as they wished.

But I'm home now and can begin the transformation into something that better resembles a human being. I'm thinking a W-CWC is in order, and I've already made a vinegar rinse. I'll do the usual leave-ins, let the whole mess dry, then decide on a style.

Etc. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

If my relatives did that, I'd remind them that you just can't do that to people in this part of the world, in the 21st Century.  They wouldn't hear the end of it!

I hope you have a cozy Thanksgiving if you end up spending the evening in by yourself. Smiley  It never was a big deal for me in the U.S. but it usually led to more family drama than on Christmas day. Roll Eyes

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, even if you spent it by yourself.  Curled up in front of the tv with something good to eat and watching movies isn't half-bad.

Drear & Mel: Thanx. I did end up spending most of the evening alone, playing my bass, getting laundry done and watching a little Euro soccer. Ah, the glamorous rock & roll life. Roll Eyes
My sis brought Jack In The Box home and we watched late night TV. Her bf went straight to bed.

Hair: Yesterday saw another late wash, so I did another vinegar rinse. My goal today is to take a shower before noon. Aim high.
Just the basic routine today. CWC + leave-ins. Style, well...that may depend on the weather. Wink

That's The Way The Thunder Rumbles: That's right...RAIN!!! In SoCal! All morning! Cheesy And not the pathetic sprinklage we usually get, I'm talking torrential downpour! It's AWESOME!! If my parents weren't home, I'd go run around and dance in it like a crazy person. Naked perhaps. Grin No, not naked. But I definitely plan on getting out in it once I've put myself together. Perhaps I'll get my car serviced today and then drive it out to the coast. Ocean + rain = epic. Perhaps with Sinatra crooning the classics along the way. Sounds like a plan, n'est-ce past? Wink

Curlgirl64: Ah, if only it had worked out. Undecided The cove was sunny and crowded, so I ended up going for nothing, and I also must put off getting my car serviced for now. Story of my life.
Hung out in my hometown instead. At least it was raining.

Hair: The usual routine minus the ELOO. Guess I'll have to slick that on the ends after my hair is dry, just before I braid it.

As the weather gets colder here, the water that I use for washing gets warmer. My hair will just have to deal. I plan on moving to a much colder climate in the future anyway, so warm water will have to become part of the plan.

Etc.: I think my sister's bf just farted. Loudly. Boys are so gross. Tongue

For now, it's just him, the dog and me, though I'll be leaving for the grocery store as soon as I can put myself together enough to be seen in public. And perhaps after another cup of tea.

Was just catching up on your journal, and I totally relate to the shower before noon being something to shoot for.  Certainly on my days off.  Roll Eyes
