This is the longest I've neglected this.  Embarrassed

"Well, let's see...I returned from housesitting Tuesday night and am grateful to be back "home." My relatives left me with their dying cat, who of course passed away on my watch. What a fiasco that was. "
How awful my last dog died when I was home still freaks me out a bit.

"There was also an older fellow whom I jumped out at from a window to scare him, and he then turned around, reached through the window and started grabbing me."
Shocked Good lord!

"A few people didn't even recognize me last night, and an 18 year old girl guessed me to be about her age. "
You must be doing something right.  Wink

Hey Waldo you were pretty easy to spot.  Wink At least to my trained eye.  Grin

For the record I hate soccer. LOL  Roll Eyes

"including the most actively haunted location in the US...which was closed that day."
Ghosts away on vacation.  Grin Cheesy

Not really into baseball either.  Roll Eyes

"No silly loop bun things"
I remember those. My hair was never really interested in doing them. LOL Roll Eyes

I totally agree with that modeling comment!

"And the lesson for today, kids: do not attempt your wicked air guitar spins in the shower!"
True, showering can be hazardous enough!

"I love to sing...just not in front of people. "
That's me all over.  Roll Eyes

So horrible what happened to your sisters car.

"This is not the best year for my family."
Unfortunately it's the same out here.  Tongue Angry Undecided

"Now no one knows that I'm cheaping out with Suave Kids. Well, except for anyone who reads this."
But we'd never tell.  Wink

"Random observation, what's with girls putting their hair up in high loop ponytails? As if the looped ponytail thing wasn't enough of a faux pas, now they bring it up to the top of their heads. Some even put clips in to make the loops stand straight up. Why do girls think this looks good?"

Haven't seen any of that out here... yet.  Roll Eyes Always plenty of other clueless people though.  Grin

Glad to hear you finally got rain. It's been raining every few days around here like clockwork.

LD: Yeah, he's dead sick right now, so that wouldn't have worked. Is that how you discipline your husband? Grin

Mel: Ah, days off. Unfortunately, that's all I seem to have lately. Undecided Without a day job to keep me in check, my inherent nocturnal ways begin to take over.

Tanai: Good to hear from you again, love. Kiss

Hair: Experimented with an overnight ELOO treatment, which ended up being a bit easier to wash out this morning than EVOO ever was.
The routine was a WCC + the usual leave-ins. Style is my signature twisted updo thing, which will come in handy when I put my hoodie on tonight. It doesn't quite work with my hair down, I've learned. Undecided

Etc.: So what's going on in the wild, crazy, ultra-glam rock & roll life of Midnight Angel? I just made some white rice for my sister and myself. Oooooh...

Mother's having her shower totally redone. Ahhhh....

Dad just got home...and in a few minutes, I'll buckle down to another bass exercise. Then maybe listen to some Leonard Cohen. FFFascinating...

Yep, another day of making the Osbournes look like Leave It To Beaver. Roll Eyes

LOL of the day:

Well you didn't mention that he was sick. Roll Eyes  However, fortunately enough for me, every guy I've ever known, knows not to exhibit disgusting guy behavior around me.  I'm way too girlie for bodily noises and such in my presence, I'm not into what I call "funk boxes".  Unfortunately, it doesn't take much to gross me out. Embarrassed

No, I don't discipline my husband like that Grin, but wouldn't it be cool if that's all it took...for everyone?  We could put terrorists out on the porch "to think about what they've done", lol!  Perhaps that's the key to achieving world peace? Huh Grin

I love "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", btw.  That video was sort of blasphemous. Cool

Hey, did you see "This Is It"?  It's coming out on DVD in late January.

Wow.
Your journals always amaze me. All sorts of music and stuff that I've never heard of (yes, yes, I lived under a rock growing up. I have NO culture).

Anyway, that spoof video was crazy. I didn't even need to watch the original! Hubby was amused by it too, and I re-started it at halfway when he came by to see what I was watching.  Cheesy

I teach college in the Chicago area and see many of the looped ponytails every day.  Haven't seen anyone pinning them to stand up, thank the goddess.  Maybe it's a New York thing.

LD: Sadly, most people don't have conscience enough to realize they've done anything wrong. Especially terrorists.
And no, I never did see This Is It. Sad My sis and I were supposed to go, but it didn't happen for whatever reason. If nothing else, I'm sure it will end up on YouTube at some point. Roll Eyes

Trisha: Wink

KNS: Grin Thanks. Music is my life. Literally. Roll Eyes

Mel: New York?

Drear: Tee hee. Anytime.

Hair: Measured yesterday at 28.25" but was too busy to record it. Good way to end the year, I suppose.

This morning, I'm a bit of a wreck, so I'm adding a vinegar rinse to the usual routine. Style...I haven't thought that far. Yesterday's was a single braid.

Etc.: Wow. Between bass exercises and setting up for Christmas, yours truly has been one busy little bee. Spent most of yesterday changing calendars, updating settings on my phone & laptop, doing a mani-pedi (fingers are green, toes are burgundy), shopping and decorating my mini tree, which is all red this year. I mean red overkill.

While I was out acquiring new red décor for said overkill, I walked to the Starbucks in the town centre and had a white peppermint mocha and a peppermint brownie outside. It was a beautiful night. The trolley center Christmas tree was out and glowing in the amphitheatre, under a bright, full moon. I absolutely love this time of year.

Stayed up way later than I should have last night and was dead knackered by the time I got to bed, but it was too cold to fall asleep. Undecided I also suspected that I might be coming down sick. This morning, I'm pretty sure of it. I've likely caught whatever my sister's bf has.

However, I'm up bright and early, intent on accomplishing whatever tasks I can before the illness takes hold and renders me useless. I've already cleaned and sterilized my shower...speaking of which, it's about time I got into it. Catch y'all later!

Hair: Clarified today. Light spritz of leave-in conditioner + a single braid. Nothing special, but I wanted a clean slate before tomorrow.

Etc.: Going with a group of friends to December Nights at Balboa Park tomorrow. My friend T is coming all the way down from LA for the free food. Roll Eyes I've spent most of the day trying to decide what to wear. Should be a gas. Wink

Somehow I've managed to avoid getting sick even with sick people all around me. Either I grew an immune system overnight or this is just the calm before the storm. Been taking vitamins & Emergen-C.

Still, I don't feel quite well enough to do my morning exercises or even play my bass. I've been avoiding both, which is really not good, I know. Embarrassed

Anyway, that's all for now. Need to do something about dinner soon. Peace.

Trisha: Thanx, it was. Smiley

Hair: CWC with an ACV rinse today. I swear, I've done more vinegar rinses this week... but yeah, the usual leave-ins, blah blah, hair is drying.

Yesterday, I made the mistake of wearing it down all day without anything on the ends. Shocked Quel horreur. I think I was fishing a seamless comb out of my purse every 5 minutes to ward off the tangles, and I still ended up with some massive ones.

Today, I've used ELOO on the ends and will definitely be rocking a contained style.

Christmas On The Prado: Fun. T & I carpooled and met mutual friend L & her bf at the park. The latter of whom stayed in the beer garden while the rest of us toured the open museums on the property. Admission that night was free, though each one had certain sections blocked off, reserved for paying customers and normal business hours.

At the Air & Space Museum, L & I climbed into a flight simulator pod, which ended up being a pretty wild and hilarious ride once we were all strapped in. Like half roller coaster, half video game.
The pair of us have long hair, which we were both wearing down that night, so it was all over the place during the crazy turns, flips and whatnot. There was L with her thick, burgundy locks flying in front of her face and me hanging from my harness whenever we went upside down because it was a bit loose. We were laughing nonstop.
There were cameras inside the pod so T & everyone else standing outside had a good laugh at our crazy hair dance. Thankfully, there was no audio. Grin
We were still giggling uncontrollably when the pod landed and they opened the door for us to get out. Makes me smile even now to think of it.

Eventually, we reunited with L's (intoxicated) bf and went through the art museum, where more hilarity ensued when I saw a painting that instantly reminded me of an Echo & The Bunnymen song. So I turned to T and started singing quietly, "c-c-c-cucumber....c-c-c-cabbage..." and we both lost it.
Sadly, the museum closed before we'd finished exploring it, and our little group decided to call it a night. T & I stopped at a Del Taco downtown before he dropped me home and headed back to LA.

Anyway, a darn good time. The food was neither free, nor all that great. I could have cooked better, which isn't saying much, so next time, I'll probably just eat before I go...and hopefully remember to bring bottled water with me since I was badly dehydrated by the end of last night.
The lights and trees and everything else were lovely though. Well, except the nativity scenes, but that wasn't their fault. Mannequins creep me out.
Crowds were insane. Tongue There's also a lot of walking involved, so I must remember not to wear boots next time.

Etc.: Today, the weather is gloriously gray, so I'm going to get myself as together as possible, then head out in it for a little Crimbo shoppin'. Wink Cheers!

LD: It was indeed.

Hair: Tied back with a velvet scrunchie first thing this morning while working out, then combed and braided to go Christmas tree shopping with my father. After breakfast, I finally jumped in the shower and did the usual CWC routine. Used detangling spray while hair was wet, though I was booted from the bathroom before I could get ELOO on the ends. Angry
So, I had to wait until my hair had dried. Then I slicked on the ELOO - much heavier than usual - then ponytailed, detangled and twisted the entire mess into an updo.

Bass: It could just be today, but I've finally hit an absolutely maddening wall. Years ago, this is where I'd have given up. But I've grown into a stubborn old goat. Roll Eyes

Etc.: God, I'm tired all of a sudden. I think I must've dozed off while typing this and now I have no idea what else I was going to write. Undecided The heck with it.

That's what many of us did and we'll never find out what could've been.  I'm not even indicating a professional dream but there are times where playing something could've provided private joy and cheap therapy.

I wanted to say something...right now all I'm thinking is "go goat!" which sounds completely wrong. Embarrassed

I don't know, Drear.  As an astrological goat (Capricorn), I like the sound of "Go goat!"   Cool
