Thanks, MA.

Its hot,
hot,
hot!
I'm doing my best to stay covered up, today I wore a 3/4 length sleeve blouse with one of my Indonesian tube sarongs in the Peranakan style.  My sun blocking umbrella got a lot of use today!

I've tried some new products:

http://www.curlmart.com/Oyin-HoneyWash-p-846.html

It made my hair feel funny after rinsing, but it dried just fine.

Also:

http://www.curlmart.com/Curly-Hair-Solutions-Curl-Keeper-p-28.html ; and http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html

I'm not sure how I like these last two.  I think I haven't figured out yet the exact amounts my hair needs.  They definitely boost my curls, but I think I might like the results of the KCCC better.  Maybe I can try KCCC and AG:RC together.  I think my hair is so healthy that I don't need a leave in, which is what CHSCC is.

My hair still smells faintly of hay, from the cassia.

I bought some new movies from Target today: Pan's Labyrinth, Donnie Darko and Darko 2.  I'm going to enjoy watching them!!!

Glad you are back.  And it's really good that your mother is doing so well.

I know about the leave-ins.  I sorta like them, but am not sure that they are worth the time; my hair dries faster without them.

Thank you, Melusine.  Its so good to be home.  I'm really happy to be able to help my mom during this trying time of chemo.  I tried to talk her into coming out here to AZ to continue her treatments but it didn't work.

You know, I haven't found anything that makes my hair dry faster, other than a blow dryer.  When I did my recent cassia I washed and lightly conditioned prior to application and it was still damp 6 hours after washing.  I got up really early that day for some reason?!

Today I give myself a gold star for getting my very first mammogram.  Ouch! and Ouch!

I'm going to do a deep treatment today after my pedicure at 3pm.  I'm trying a new product from Karen's Body Beautiful.
http://www.karensbodybeautiful.com/product_p/llhm.htm

I hope I like it!!!  It smells really good in the jar.

I want to pose a question to all of you who read my journal and have been to a Renaissance Festival or Faire:
Who was your favorite character and what made them so memorable to you?

You can PM me your answer if you prefer.  You see, I'm going to audition for the AZ Renaissance Festival and I'm working on some character development so I'd really like your input.  Thank you in advance!!!  Huzzah!

Forgot to mention I made an awesome soy and dairy free strawberry smoothie today:

1 cup So Delicious original Coconut Milk Kefir
1 packet Sweet Leaf Stevia
Frozen Strawberries
Talenti Malaysian Mango sorbetto (talentigelato.com)
1 heaping Tablespoon Brown Rice protein powder

Stick it all in a blender and blend until smooth!  I probably used 1/3 of the bag of frozen strawberries.  Its hard to tell 'cause they were all stuck together and a little icy.  I got the sorbet from Whole Foods-its really good and I can't wait to try their other flavors!

I've never been to a Ren Fest, but I'm sure that you'll be great! Cheesy

I hope your mother is doing better.

Thanks, LD.

I hope you try it out, Curlgirl64.

Tomorrow I fly to Michigan again, and I won't be back until the 15th of August.  I hope I'll have better access to the internet, although I won't know until I get there.

Mom's 5th chemo is on Thursday and I hear she's doing better in her rehab.

I'm very near my BSL goal, less than an inch away now.  Of course, my spring factor still makes it look shorter but I'm getting excited just knowing I'm getting sooo close.  I'd love to have much longer hair by the time the AZ Renaissance Festival (http://royalfaires.com/arizona/) starts in Feb-whether I'm in the show or not.

I tried the Karen's Body Beautiful deep conditioner today, and I think I will really like it.  It was moisturizing without being heavy and a little goes a long way, which is unusual since I have thick hair.

My favorite characters were a group called The Queen's Consorte, women who did madrigals. They were phenomenally good.  The group broke up last year because some of them went off to college or moved out of state.  They dressed appropriately, but with a sexy edge, like skirts caught up to show bloomers.

Thanks, Midnight Angel.

Melusine: I love madrigals.   I sang with a madrigal group in college.

I tried a new shampoo and conditioner I think I really like.

http://www.curlmart.com/Max-Green-Alchemy-p-1-c-120.html

Also, I think I've got a good routine for styling-b'leave in conditioner, KCCC and Ojon after I plop.  My waves are well defined and more even.  The Ojon takes away the cast from the KCCC and my hair is really soft.

My bangs have grown out to an inch above my jaw.  I'm glad they're growing out, eventhough they're quite ackward and requite containment.

My folks have a dsl now so it is a bit easier to be online at their home so I hope I won't be as absent as my last trip!

See ya 'round!

Thank you, Trisha!

Sorry I haven't been around...my dad took the laptop to MO so I was totally w/o a computer until today.

Mom's doing pretty good, she's starting to have extremem fatigue from the cumlative chemo but she had lot of energy today.

I just went through 645 emails that were waiting for me, ugh!  I've got so much catching up to do here but I think I'll have to wait until I get home.  They only have one phone line here so I can't keep it tied up.

I hope everyone is well!!!

Thanks, Curlgirl64!

Tomorrow I'm coming home!!!!  I can hardly contain myself.  I miss my hubby and kitties soooo much I could burst!

I hope I can sleep tonight.  I did a deep conditioning treatment and facial, so I plan on being very hydrated for my flights!

See y'all tomorrow...
