I am so pleased for you!!!  Have lots of fun.  I am dying to hear about your garb as soon as you know your color.

I have been keeping your mom in my thoughts.  I am sending strength and health as much as I can, to both of you.

Thank you, MichelleR & Melusine.  I am hoping it will be lots of fun.  I'm hoping my color will be peacock.  I heard there was some discussion on carnelian or amethyst.  I think they're concerned about purple being royalty only, I don't know if amethyst counts exactly.

Melusine, thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.  Your sent energy is much appreciated!!!

I'm squirmy in my guts about my costume and accessories.  BTW, its a really good squirmy!!!  Whee!

*sigh* I love those styles!  Can't wait until my hair is long enough to do stuff like this again.

Sakina, I want to see pics when you have your final costume!   Cheesy

Thank you, Isabelle!  I had forgotten about that page.  I might be able to incorporate some of it, it will be fun to experiment!  I have an idea to rope braid the front w/ the ribbon and put a snood on the rest of my hair.

MichelleR, I'll do my best to get pics.  I've been bad about it lately, I have a bunch of my hair that I haven't downloaded yet.

I've decided to go back to doing Cassia, especially since I'll be outside from 10-6 Saturdays and Sundays of the faire.  Our faire runs 19 days.  I hope I can protect it well!

So when and where is your faire set?  Bristol is Elizabethan England, and St. Louis is 16C French.  You said your character is Italian. Is the Faire Italian?  I would love to see that!

Thanks, Curlgirl64.

Melusine, the Arizona Renaissance Festival (http://www.royalfaires.com/) is set in England.  I am one of the Seven Deadly Sins, Italian Courtiers.  At this point, that's all I know.

Thank you, Midnight Angel.  I'm sorry you've got so much unpleasantness going on lately.  You're wishes are appreciated.

Wow!  That Renn fest looks really good!  The one we had up here blew in conparison! Grin  Wish I could go.  Don and I would go as Henry and Anne  Cheesy  Enjoy, don't let them work you too hard and always have a quick way of getting out of your stays Smiley

La Diosa, thanks!  I am excited and curious how this will unfold.  Instead of "rehearsals" we'll really be having workshops and exercises that create interactive theatre, along with learning the lingo and manners of the times.

Isabelle, this is a particularly nice faire.  Sorry your local one wasn't so great.

I have been hunting for grey nail polish.  I bought one from China Glaze which turned out to be quite silvery, which isn't what I want.  I'm currently sporting Suede nail polish by OPI.  It is strange, its supposed to look and feel like suede.  You don't use a top coat so it doesn't last as long as regular polish.  I got a grey color, though it looks like there's black underneath.  It goes on quite thick, which I think mimics the suede look.  Still not quite what I'm after but its interesting.

I'm feeling very lazy today.  I had designated Sunday as my deep treat and facial day.  I think the problem is its really hot today so maybe I'll just do it later.  I don't have to get up early tomorrow or anything anyway.

Well that's a good thing.  I wish that we had classes like that when I did Cleopatra at Caesars.  They were very strict about our weight, our makeup and about us characters not having personal conversations with each other while visible to the public.  However, no one ever told me how to act. So for the most part I'd just smile and nod, and let the guy who was Caesar do most all of the talking. Roll Eyes

That is odd.  One of the things that I like about getting my nails done is how smooth and slick they feel afterwards.

La Diosa, yeah, I'm really glad we'll be working on how to converse in character w/strangers.  There's one book by Gary Izzo that is on the subject of interactive theatre, but its hard to find.  He's been doing renaissance faires for years.  I guess if you were Egyptian, you wouldn't have much to say to the "commoners" who are English speaking!

Midnight Angel, thanks for those suggestions.  I'll check 'em out!

I have so far managed to do my deep treatment, I think I'll leave the facial to tomorrow.

I'm going to try doing Cassia at home, I ordered some from henna caravan.  I also got some more henna for my mehandi.  I'm looking forward to it!
