(((hugs))), KNS, Isabelle, MichelleR, and Drear!  Thanks for your well wishes.  As a matter of fact I've got a screaming headache.  The doc said this would be a big deal for me because when they put me on the hbp meds my bp was seriously high, so this low is super low for me.  Today my bp was 107/80.

Somehow I've managed to not wash my hair for almost an entire week.  I guess its break time.  I've been giving my nails a break too, they've been polish free for a couple of weeks.  I've got a mani/pedi scheduled for next week.

Yesterday at CVS I picked up Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Gunmetal.  Thanks for suggestion, Midnight Angel.  I probably wouldn't have looked at that color otherwise.  CVS has these cool eyeball bouncy balls, 8/$2.  I bought 2 packs to give away at the party and of course wanted one for myself.  My littlest kitty, Jupiter, stole it from me.  He's a hoot, when you bounce the ball down the hall he first flips in the air and then jumps along as it bounces until he catches it.  Way too funny, I wish I had video.

I'm off to order hubby around with more party decorating.  I'll be sitting in a chair 'cause moving around makes my head hurt too much.

Thank you, Midnight Angel.

The headaches have subsided and my bp has gone up slightly so its closer to normal.  My fingers are crossed that I'm feeling normal for the party.

We started decorating in the back yard around 5pm and I somehow managed to get a light sunburn on my face.  Dammit!  I'm usually so careful about sunblock and since I've been feeling crappy I've been making my self do things just to get them done and now I have a sunburn.  I hope its gone by morning.  I'm planning on being fair and lovely in my Victorian costume on Saturday.

I finally washed my hair tonight.  I was filthy after tying twine to the gazebo frame.

Melusine, I'm around.  I'm in an Eeyore state of mind lately.

KNS, thanks.  We did have a lot of fun at the party.  It was smaller than expected, but everybody had a good time.

I've got to turn in a sketch for my AZRF costume this Wednesday and work on my vocabulary.  Officially my color is PURPLE.  Yay!  I'm freaking out about this, 'cause I'm not an experienced sewer and I think I'm going to have to hire someone.  I kinda wanted to make it myself, but since I have to go to Michigan for a couple of weeks I don't think I'll have the time.

My mom's surgery is now scheduled for Nov. 11th.  This will be major exploratory surgery and I think if they find more cancer they'll take it out at that time.  Then she'll be in hospital for up to 7 days and then home, which is when I plan on being there to help.  As soon as possible they want to start her on another 6 rounds of chemo.

I wish I didn't have to go-I hate the cold and grey so much.  The fact that I live in Arizona now and love it here only makes it worse!!!

Oooh! Purple is a lovely color.  Do you have to design your own costume?  And make it?  I wasn't aware it worked that way.  If we were anywhere near each other, I would do it for you.

Hope all goes well with your mom's surgery.  I will keep good thoughts in mind for both of you.

I wish the best for your mother and I hope she'll eventually have a full recovery.  It must be hard on you.  I was wondering about your bp and how you are.  Glad to see you back.

Thanks, Melusine, MichelleR and Drear.  Your good wishes are really appreciated!

Yes, we have to design and make our own costumes.  The design and fabric must be approved by the entertainment director.  I found my pattern at www.alteryears.com, I'm using the Italian Renaissance (Romeo & Juliet).  I've ordered the patterns, so I haven't decided which design I'll ultimately go with yet.  I would love for you to make my costume, Melusine!!!  That would be awesome!!  I'm waiting to hear back about accessories, so I don't know what headcoverings will be approved.

I have ordered a pair of tights in purple from the Faire Pair, I'm looking forward to getting those.  I'll order a second pair if I love them, and I need to find a couple pair of cotton purple knee high socks.  I need 2 pair of all undergarments!

Thursday the entertainment director and I are going fabric shopping.  We 7 deadly sins girls will be in jewel tones and she wants us to have the same fabric type for a unified look.  She mentioned poly chantung?  I think we'll get to be a hybrid historical/fantasy since we're the mortal embodiment of the sins.  We get to wear nail polish and makeup-I hope I can wear some purple dreads to make a huge crazy hairstyle.  I am Pride, after all!

Wow, those patterns look awesome!
Btw, for some reason, when I think of Princess-y girls in jewel tones, I mentally see each of them wearing this kind of cone-type hat, kinda like a party hat? But longer, with like a floaty veil at the tip. Anybody else know what I am talking about? Or am I just insane?  Cheesy
Let us know how you ultimately decide to do your hair! I think Pride would have huge imposing hair! Of course, that might just be my Chinese side peaking through. I'd can totally see a "powdered wig" type 'do, too.

I'm looking forward to getting the pattern into my hot little hands!  You could be insane, but you are also right about the conical hat typically going with a Princess-y costume.  Actually, I wore a hat like that as Princess Multiplication in elementary school.  My mom had this awesome turquoise dress with sheer sleeves that I wore and my hat was poster board cone covered in foil with a blue X.

If you google the seven sins and look for an image, there's a pic of all seven together that shows the jewel tones, and Pride's hair is really big.
I've been considering the double netted and beaded buns (like Amadala) with ribbon headband with the back either hanging free or braided with Italian hair taping in purple ribbon.

Ugh, I ate a sandwich from Paradise Bakery for lunch and I think it made me sick.  I actually missed my rehearsal tonight-and I'm super bummed 'cause we were supposed to do some dancing!  I drank a bunch of water and slept so I feel a bit better, but fragile.  I hope I wake up all better tomorrow so I can go fabric shopping with BellaDonna.

Wee! Yet another sign I might not be entirely insane. Thanks.  Cheesy

Mind if I put in a vote for Italian hair taping? I think that would look positively awesome on you.
And I'm really sorry to hear about the sandwich making you ill.  Cry
I know from personal experience ( I got camphylobacter last Valentines day that completely ruined the romantic date DH set up for us) that food poisoning is NOT FUN.  Embarrassed

Hope you are feeling better.

I vote for the Italian hair taping. If would be fab with your hair.  The Italian garb is lovely.  I am sure whatever your choose will be beautiful.  I have some patterns from Alter Years and have been pleased with them.
