The first year I too only had one hummingbird.  I think the second year I may have also seen just the one little guy (that was about 6 or 7 years ago).  But every year since then, the numbers seem to double.  I guarantee you, lady, if you keep putting out the feeder eventually you'll see more and more.

I would've never guessed that you started out with only one as well.  That's so good to know, thanks! Smiley

Hair  Didn't feel like washing this morning, so I have one side  brushed back behind the ear and held in place with a hair comb, and the other side brushed straight down *over* the ear, held in place with a little spray.

Other  This is day 3 of playing secretary.  Thus far nothing major has happened...which is the way we like it.  Five more days to go.

I also have just a week and a half left before the new ear piercing is "cured", then I can start switching earrings.  Yay!   Cheesy

Oh, you're lucky!  I still have a month and a half before I can switch mine out.  Smiley

Friday 17 July 2009
Hair  Washed as usual this morning; am trying to find *just* the right amount of mousse and hairspray to use without hair looking greasy or slicked down.  Will do a vinegar rinse this weekend.

Other  Day 5 of playing secretary; 3 more to follow next week.  Gloria Gaynor's song I Will Survive keeps playing in my head.   Grin  Honestly, it hasn't been overwhelming at all.  It's mostly answering the phone lines and telling people where to go--and I'm an expert at the latter.   Cool

Today ends week 5 of the 6 week healing period of the new piercing.  One more week and I can swap earrings, YAY!   Cheesy

Talked with Army Son last evening over the telephone.  He sounded very happy and excited; his unit has finally been getting some hands-on training rather than just sitting in a classroom.  He'll graduate from AIT in another week or two and will probably deploy overseas sometime in November.

Daughter is doing well; working her two jobs keeps her busy and she's paying off overdue bills left and right.  Even if she wasn't my daughter I'd be proud of her.   Smiley

Hair  Nothing new to report; still washing (diluted) every day and using mousse/spray.  Still letting it grow for a while.  For how long?  *shrug*  I'll know it when it gets there.   Wink

Other  Two days left (after today) of filling in for the secretary.  You know, in a way I sort of enjoy sitting out front.  I get to see and interact with coworkers that I otherwise don't get a chance to do so.  I surely do miss being holed up in my quiet, peaceful office though!!

I've decided that Friday is soon enough to start switching out earrings in the new piercing.  Technically I should wait until Saturday but one day sooner can't hurt.  --If it ain't healed by then, 24 more hours ain't gonna matter.   Cool  I *almost* did it today but I'm trying to be good.   Roll Eyes

Hair  Used mousse today but did not use spray.  Pretty sure the mousse will keep my hair where I want it.

Other  Wellllll....I changed my mind about waiting until Thursday to take out my earring from the repiercing.   Roll Eyes  I gave in to temptation and did it this morning.   Cool  I mean, c'mon, the dang thing is already healed.  I do need to buy some smaller studs to wear in those holes, though.

I'm cranky today.  I hate feeling cranky but a lot of stupid little stuff has happened this morning, already before 9:00am.  The secretary is still out for today but I can't sit at her desk because, apparently, she's decided to remote in to her work pc from home....which means I cannot use her pc to remote in to MY office pc and do work-type things.   Angry  So I said screw it, I'll just sit in my office (which is within eye- and ear-shot of the front desk).  Harumpf.  My god, I hope this day goes by quickly.

Hair  I've almost used up my first batch of diluted shampoo and will definitely mix more.  Love it!  At this rate I don't believe I'll need to buy shampo for the rest of the year.   Cool

Other  The office secretary returned today.   Cheesy  *relieved sigh*  I'm as giddy as a hungry woman in a cupcake factory!  LOL

Hair  You know what?  I love the feeling of letting my hair grow.  --Just letting it be and allowing it to do its thing.  It's such a positive experience.   Smiley

Other  Had my annual hoo-ha exam this morning.   Cheesy  SIX years cancer free.  My doctor said, "I think we can call this one cured."   Cool  Such a great doctor...such a good man.  I should get my CA-125 (blood) results tomorrow or the next day but expect it to be normal.  The medical group where my daughter works is right across the hall from my gyno, so I stopped by to visit her and meet "her" doctor.   Smiley

Congrats on the 6 years, Trish. Smiley

You're officially the only person I "know" who has gotten cancer and survived.

Hallelujah!!!!  I'm so happy for you, Trisha!  Ironically, I'm writing this post while sitting with my mom as she's receiving her 5th chemo.

I hope you celebrate this great news-A Toast to Trisha!  Huzzah!
