I LOVE socks.  Especially funky hand knit socks.  I can't go barefoot for safety reasons, so I like to wear wild and crazy socks with my Birkies - to show them off.   Grin

Although I'm only a medium length longhair in training, perhaps I'm luckiest-I get to work barefoot.   Wink

I'm in between - I wear funky socks in the winter (BB - have you seen the ones made by Mudd and Joe Boxer?  Cute!)  But in the summer I like sport sandals.

BUT, I am not at my target length yet.  And just this summer I got a pair of split-toe Nike Air Rifts (they look like tabi shoes.)  So!  That theory may yet be correct.

That makes two of us lucky. I work from home and keep a pair of flip-flops in the car for when I run errands.  Cheesy

Ah, Bardic Love I have the very great fortune of being a yoga instructor  Grin  Grin  Grin

NR, I, too am running around in flip flops to and from work as well as erands.  My favorite pair are 2.5" platforms in black w/tiny skull & crossbones decorating the perimiter of the footbed.

I love going barefooted (if that's a word) All through school (I was homeschooled) I didn't wear shoes very often and only wore socks when my feet got cold.
But, since I've come to college, I've had to "conform" to the socks/shoes idea. Embarrassed I still take them off whenever I can.

Yeah, walking to classes on campus in sandals can lead to blisters and swollen feet.  Yuck!

Yikes! mine are far more tame than that but extremely comfortable for whose trips into a store.

The only reason they are in my car because I prefer driving barefoot as well! Nothing worse then getting out to the car to discover that I've no shoes because I removed them the last time I drove.

And why the picture? If *some* people can show socks, I can show flip-flops.  Grin

You making fun of my socks?   Angry  I'll have you know my hubby and son LOVE the socks I knit for them.  Chamo colored yarns are their favorites.

Pretty cool looking flip flops you got there.  I'm envious of those of you who can fun around barefoot.  I used to be shoeless all the time when I was younger and wish I could do that again.

Ah how lucky you are Smiley

I've been on the lookout lately for new flip flops, but I can't seem to find any nice looking ones that don't have heels. Heels look nice yes, but I don't want to wear them everytime I leave the house. Four stores down, one to go, as my quest for nice looking, comfortable, open toe shoes continues! Shocked

BL, I think you'll find the best selection of flipflops at a beach wear store.  Here are a couple of links:

Pacific Sunwear
http://shop.pacsun.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=10001&c...

Becker Surf
http://beckersurf.com/Products.asp?product_subgroup_id=43

I've ordered from both and they have good service.

I have one pair of platform sandals I use for washing dishes because I'm too short.  If I don't have the height I get achy elbows!   Smiley
