34 1/2 inches!  Shocked (leia, am I actually longer than you?!)

It looks like you are! When you were last 33", I remember mine being a little shorter too.  Wink

Hmm...for some reason I always thought yours was so much longer, I guess because yours always looks so much thicker and more beautiful compared to mine.

What is the correct way of measuring?  Going from your part down, or from the front of your head down?  ???

The most common method is to start at the hairline at the front, then go over the top of your head down to the longest tip of hair.

Hi all!

By standard measure 14". But if I measure from scalp to end of average section, 5" or so. I just chopped off all my heat and chemical damage on the 6th of this month.

Hi LB, nice to have ya!

So exactly how *big* was the big chop?  Sometimes it just has to be done, though...I've been there.  In fact, my usual pattern is letting my hair grow as long as I can, and then I always get this urge for <<short>> hair, I mean SHORT!  Then I hate it, then I grow it, then I hate it, then I chop it, then I hate it, I think you get the cycle!  I'm trying to break the cycle this time!  I will not cut, I will not cut!

maybe this time you should go for really LONG hair  Wink

but i understand, i have 6 year cycles ... as i remember i have cut my hair above shoulders in primary, high school and university (college or whatever you call it). i dunno exactly how you count in the US but all those three school times consist of six years exactly (in my case, college is quite often just 4 years). afterwards i would always let my hair grow back.

That's the goal - as of now - I am committed this time!!!  I am still skeptical that my hair will get any longer than this, I will be *very* shocked if it does, very!  But I will keep positive, and keep trying... Wink

Yay!!! I measured my hair today after cutting it yesterday and it measured at a little more that 19 inches and before i cut it it was 19 1/2 inches so I actually didn't lose all that much. That makes me feel a lot better about cutting it. And I am very pleased that it is still long enough to braid for bed.  Grin
