What about some of the vegetable dyes, I think they are called manic panic and another one I can't remember now.   ???  Seems like most people get them at hot topic.  Those are supposed to coat the hair, and I've never heard of anyone having damage from them.  They've got the wild colors too. 

Anyone know what I'm talking about?  I don't want to give out the wrong advice.
