So it was you that got the lovely Lilac one, huh?  Grin Grin
As for sold sticks, which ones do you want to see up close?

P.S. I still am veeery reluctant to try the CO'ing method. I am amazed that so many of you find it good!

Greek_Lady: Yes, 'twas I that snatched up the lilac one.  I wish I could see every design that Susan makes, even if it's not a design that calls to me I still want to see it up close.

I really wound up doing the CO just because I was too lazy to get out of the shower and grab the shampoo.  I was really reluctant, too and probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise.  If you try it, just think that if you don't like the result you can wash your hair again with shampoo.

Nice surprise on Tuesday-I went in to my usual salon to have a pedicure and my stylist (who happens to own the salon) was there.  I had washed my hair that morning, so it was down drying in very beautiful waves.  She complimented my on how my waves were developing and said how much she liked how my hair looked.  I think I feel better about my upcoming trim!  She has always respected my wishes in the past, so I'm over my paranoia and am actually looking forward to my next visit as it will help me get those annoying layers down to one length Grin

I wish there was one, just one, long-hair-trustworthy salon here where I live! Those ladies (and gents) out there are soooo scissor-happy Undecided Undecided Angry Angry
About the sticks, I asked you because it is very possible that I might have a photo of the sticks you want to see up close, either in "my-sticks" folder, or in the "lost-sticks" folder or in my "to-do" folder  Smiley  If you want any I'll be glad to help.

Back from vacation in Las Vegas, seems like the board has been very busy while I was gone.
Update on new sticks:
Crystal Wedding Bridalstix
Pastel Forest Originalstix
While in Vegas I wore my Midnight Sparkle Sterling with my Gothic Midnight Geisha II, turned a lot of heads Grin
Then I got to wear my new mint green sweater with my Green T Sterling stix.  My mom helped my put up my bun (there were no additional mirrors-I have to see the back of my head for my pinning) and she made it so pretty.  I was very happy with the result.

Greek-Lady,
I don't know which ones I'd like to see, I didn't keep track of the names.  I'm only minimaly computer literate: how are you putting the pictures in a file?  Maybe I could do that, too.  Can you see the pics close up??

Sakina, was that you who beat me again for that awesome black and silver foilstix Starlight Ballroom Cry?? I loved this one very very much  Cheesy

About the pics, what you need to do is type the name of the stix you want to see, all in lower case no spaces between the words and .jpg at the end, after the www.longlocks.com address.
So let's say I want to see that foilstix: I type www.longlocks.com/starlightballroom.jpg and there it is! Cheesy
If you want to see the topmost part up close you type that again and at the end of the name you just add the letter c for the close up  www.longlocks.com/starlightballroomc.jpg Cheesy
Hope this helps  Smiley

Many thanks, greek_lady!  That helps a ton.
No, I was not the one who got the Starlight Ballroom-although I almost went for it.  I can appreciate your disappointment!

Did a deep conditioning today, my wet hair feels super silky although my waves are a bit limp.  Will see how it is when dry...

Last night I came up with a really cool new hairdo.
Take the hair from ear to ear across the back of the head and make a pony, use a ponytail holder.  Twist into a bun and pin in place.  Add a pair of hairsticks.
Then, take the hair that is hanging down and twist it, as in making a french twist.  Do not twist too tightly.  Take the twisted hair and wrap it around one side of the bun (my hair's about 20 inches, so it only went 1/2 way around the bun) and secure it at the top with a pin, another pin at the side to attach it to the bun and then one more pin near the base.  Use your fingers to "comb" the the hairs smooth to make it look neater.  It was very pretty, of course I wore it with my Bridal Lily bridalsticks.  I felt like a princess and was walking tall Grin

Well, my hair dried and is now REALLY POOFY.  I mixed my Lucky Tiger hairgel with the Redkin Outshine (it has cones in it) and
shazam!
mega fluff.  My waves are not as defined as usual, but some interesting spiral-y curls seem to be developing.  The Curly Girl book said that the curl may develop as the hair gets longer.  I hope so!  I think my hair may someday look like CurlyBrunette's.  Except that I'm blond.  I think I'd like that Grin Grin
Have a wedding to attend on Saturday, no idea what to do.  Don't even know what I'm wearing.  Right now my hair's so fluffy I can hardly braid it at night to sleep.  I hope my next shipment of hairsticks arrives before Saturday, maybe it will inspire my attire 8)

Ugh.  It's raining and I have that wedding to go to today.  I don't wanna go.  Just want to stay on the couch wrapped up in my blanket with the cat purring beside me.  It'd be a good day to watch the LOTR trillogy Grin.  I still don't know what I'll wear.

Good news:
Peking Opera II and
Violet Lily SpiralStix
arrived!

This has brightened my day.

Yesterday I made a funky 1/2 up do:
Make a 1/2 pony and take some off the top and sides and pin it so it sticks up and fans out.  Take the remaining pony and twist it into a bun, pin in place.  Insert hairsticks (I wore Violet Noir Shadowstix) and fluff the hair that's hanging down.  Viola!  A funky, fun do.  I didn't want to comb out my waves, so this was my solution.  My hair was too fluffy to confine all of it into a bun.  I'll probably wear a bun today (which means I'll comb it out) IF I go to this wedding.  I plan on washing my hair at the gym tomorrow after my class and oiling it then sitting in the steam room to let the oil penetrate.  Wonder how that will turn out. (Hmmmmm)

Well, I went to that wedding (wishing I was at home with the cat) and I looked AWESOME.  All in black except for my Violet Lily Spiralstix and my Spring Lilac Geishastix to decorate my bun.  I do love to dress up, and since I'm not really performing right now I haven't had many opportunities lately.  It rained while we were there, and we missed out on the cake.  Apparently they didn't get a cake big enough to feed all of the guests.  I felt like I didn't get my dessert!  So, hubby and I went to Black Angus for cake Grin.  I feel better now.
I'm doing my facial now and tomorrow I"m going to try oiling my hair and then using the steam room.  I'm looking forward to it.  I hope my hair doesn't look too ucky during class since I had to put hairspray in it tonight.  Oh well, so what if it does, right?

I really enjoyed my steam-I may make it a Sunday ritual.  I wasn't thinking too clearly and CO'd my hair before oiling and steaming.  I think I meant to oil it dry and then CO.  At any rate it worked fine and with my new hairgel from Bellagio my waves look great.  More and more of those spiral curls are popping up.  I'm not sure if it's a result of the growing length or if it is the moisturizing treatment.
I've decided that I'll only have 1/2 inch cut off-even if it takes forever to get the layers trimmed up I just can't part with too much.  My buns look so beautiful now at this length I'm excited about how they'll look even better with more length! I think I can get away with trimming so little because I don't have split ends.  Yea Grin

The hair closest to my scalp looked so oily today I had to wash it.  I'm having a crap day anyway, but I was trying to wait until my trim tomorrow.  Part of me wants to not get it trimmed but I'm sure if I don't the layers will be more irritating than they already are.
At least my waves/curls look good today.  I think the oil didn't penetrate 'cause my hair was wet or I had too much conditioner in my rinse with the vinegar and lemon juice.  Speaking of which, my hair smelled of vinegar for hours after.  That's never happened before.  Yuck.  I could hardly stand myself.
I should have a pair of sticks in the mail soon, if they came today that would cheer me up.  Did I mention I have to have a filling replaced today?  It's the first one-I've had my fillings since junior high school.  Guess I better brush before heading to the dentist.   Tongue

I just got back from the salon.  She didn't trim my hair-we ran out of time.  It took 2 1/2 hours to do another weave and then put color over it.  I have a lot of hair Grin  So, now I'm a sandy, goldish brownish blonde.  I think the dark color makes my hair look shorter.  I have to go back in two weeks for my trim, so I should be a bit lighter by then.
Those new Geishastix sure went fast!
I'm exhausted-Sweetie is still crying most of the night.  I'm gonna go take a nap.

I'm getting so many compliments on my new hair color.  I still take myself by surprise walking by a mirror (Who's that girl with the dark hair?  Oh, yeah it's me) but I think I like it.  I asked my stylist for suggestions on vintage hairstyles and she suggested a Gibson Girl and she dried my hair and curled it to show me how to do it-since my hair's not super long yet I have to kind of fake it.  Well, after showing me she took it out and I've been wearing it down or in a pony ever since.  My hair holds curl so well, I guess since it's naturally wavy/curly and I'm enjoying the straighter look.  It sure makes my pony hang real nice.  I went to the mall yesterday and could feel my pony bouncing jauntily along.   8)
It seems to me that my hair didn't really grow last month.  I'm perplexed.  As its already in the 80's this week I hope the heat will get it growing again.  So, no more measuring until it's all one length.  I'm a bit bummed its going to take so long, but now I'm looking at it as I hope to have 40" of hair when I'm 40 years old, in 2010.

AAAHHHHHH!  I just went a little bit crazy, three of the glitterstix were calling to me and I wasn't fully awake from my marathon nap and I did go for it.  IF I get them all, well, let's say I'm gonna have to hide 'em.  One pair I'm hoping to wear at the recital.  Speaking of that, I tried a style today that I think I'm happy with to wear as Lucy.  Since respectable women wore their hair all up or maybe with a strand or two down, and Lucy's not in that category I took half of my hair and twisted it in to a half a figure 8, leaving the rest to hang down wavy/curly.  I made the top poof and you can see a littly knob on top.  Then, to morf into Luisa I just take the hair that's down and twist it up to meet the other twist.  Since Luisa's supposed to be a young girl and from a respectable family I can leave down a tendril here and  there-we'll see.  I've got to cut up a sheet and try those rag curls and then try these styles out.
I have two and a half weeks left before the recital.  Oh yeah, I guess I better practice my songs! Roll Eyes

AAAAAAAAkkkkkkk!  I was just looking at my hair and there's s bunch of split ends!  It must be from the last salon visit.  Yikes!  She told me to wait until this Wednesday to oil my hair so the color she put on wouldn't lift off too soon.  I hope they don't get any worse-I've got a trim coming up.  Thank goodness that was the last time she would do such a harsh treatment (to remove my previous permanent color).
Hang in there, hair!!
