Thanks for your well wishes, everyone!  I'm a bit worse today I must say, but I'm just gonna get better.
Jupiter's a bit sad I'm sick 'cause I'm too weak to throw his toy as far as he's like.  Little darlin' likes to play fetch.  Upside-he brings his toy back to me to throw so I can stay seated.  Downside-he brings me his toy (sometimes) after letting it soak in the water bowl.  Crazy kitty!

I've got a guitar lesson set up for Saturday-hope I'm well enough to attend.  He had only one spot open and I nabbed it.  I hope it works out, I'm happy I will be keeping up w/my guitar lessons.  Never had I private one before on guitar-hope I like it!!

Ugh, I think I need to go lay down.

Later!

Dammit!  Looks like I've got a full blown chest cold.  For me that's the worst, with all the hacking & coughing I can hardly speak-and that is the main thing I do in my job.  I'm going to try dayquil tomorrow and hope it gets me through my 2 classes and guitar lesson.

Hair is dirty 'cause I haven't bathed w/my cold.  Don't get too close...!

Cats are hyper active today-starting at 3AM when I moved to the couch 'cause I was coughing so much I didn't want to disturb hubby's sleep.  Zooming around these furballs!

Gonna go make some hot tea...laters!

I'm sorry to hear you're worse intsead of better, Sakina.  Embarrassed  Maybe if you drug the furballs out on 'nip you could at least get them to sit on your chest and warm you up for a while.

Thanks for the suggestion, 13bodies!  Jupiter has been napping close to me all day and that does help.

Took my 1st dose of nyquil about an hour ago-wheeeeee.  And this is after they've taken out the epiniphrine.  Eating sushi should be fun...spicy california roll and apach roll and wasabi and ginger-stuffy sinuses don't stand a chance!!!

Wow!  I can hardly keep my thoughts straight let alone type.  Gotta go...

A good flu/cold remedy that my friend told me was boil juice of one whole lemon, honey(about 3 tables spoons), AND a 1/3 of a cup of water. Bring to a boil, then drink hot. That will make you feel better in a day or less. Try IT!

Are you ill Ariel? Undecided Undecided
Here's a hug for you ((((((Ariel)))))))
It's all I can give you, since I know of no remedies.
I do know though about a kick-a$$ Aussie multi-vitamin complex that works wonders. Called Berocca, by Roche, non-prescription, maybe you have it over there too? Not sold in Europe as far as I know, so can't get you some.
Hurry and get better or all those spicy things and sushi you eat might even transform you into a mermaid   Grin Grin

Greek_Lady,
Thanks for the hug, I really needed it.  It is extra good that it is cyber 'cause my neck is really sore.  I have very limited range of motion right now and hope to get in to see the chiropractor tomorrow.  Hubby will have to drive me.  My cold is better, but this neck issue is really uncomfortable.

I'm going to focus on getting better, so I'm keeping this short.  I'm going to go make curlygirl22's recipe now.  Bye!

I have tried this many times, and it works. You can add honey if you want.

I hope you feel better soon ((((((((Sakina)))))))

Oh thanks, everybody!  I tried the water, lemon juice and honey and my cold it better!  Unfortunatley, the pain in my neck is worse.  I can barely move it-hubby stayed home to chauffer me to the chiropractors office today.  I had to get subs for my yoga classes, but at least I don't have to worry about trying to get out and drive.  I'll see the chiropractor again tomorrow.

So!  Now it looks like I've got a week and a half off.  Well, happy vacation to me Smiley ?

Hair is dirty, and will be until I can wash it.

Well, its only 10:39pm at my house so technically its still today, Tuesday.
I feel 50% better after yesterday's treatment, well enough to take a much needed shower.

I just responded to Beesan's journal, I hope she doesn't think I wrote too much.  I can get carried away when I talk about yoga or music or chanting...or Susan's hairsticks!

My second treatment went really well. Apparently my neck problems stem from my thyroid disconnecting-unresloved grief issues.  I have almost full range of motion and just the tinyist bit of tenderness at the back of my neck.  I feel I should be able to drive safely tomorrow.  YAY!

I've gotten 2 orders from LL, but I'm waiting to open them Sunday.

I'm wondering:  how many of us open gifts on Christmas Eve and how many of Christmas Day and how many do not celebrate Christmas?  Do people who where raised Christian but became pagan celebrate Christmas?  Curious, that's me Smiley

Well, Inuyasha's on-gotta go 'cause I can't watch it and concentrate on typing at the same time-can't turn my head that fast yet.

I'm glad you feel 50% better, but I hope you feel 100% better soon!

As far as Christmas traditions.  Hmm.  My mom is Catholic, my dad is Protestant, and we went to church only a few times a year.  But every year we did the pagan-style Christmas, with Santa and trees.  When we were little, my brother and I couldn't wait to open presents, so we were allowed at midnight.  As we grew older, we became patient and waited until morning.  Smiley

Now, we open gifts in the morning unless the little kids keep us up all night.  If the adults are up at midnight, we may open one gift or wait until morning.

But basically my family's philosophy is to make the Christmas experience a memorable one for the kids.  We decorate with them, do the santa thing, have Christmas music on, etc.

I spent one year in the Philippines over the holidays.  I forget which exact dates they are, but the whole month of December is festive.  There is a festival of the Santo Nino (Christ Child) where they have a processional.  On another day, all the kids go around the neighborhood to family and family friends, and are given little red envelopes with money in them (just a small amount, like a few coins).   Festivities last up until New Years, and then it gets REALLY celebratory.  There's a lot of noise from fireworks, food cooking over spits, and music.  It was so fun to be able to go to the little family stores and buy fireworks and set them off in the streets.
