Yep, really close to bsl, Maggie.   Smiley  I guess the next logical goal would be waist length.  I'd like to eventually see it at classic or beyond.  But I realize my terminal length may not allow that.  I'm not sure exactly what my terminal length is, to tell the truth.  So we'll have to wait to find out what hand reality deals me.

On the weight loss front, things are great.  I bought some new clothes over the weekend, one size smaller than my usual (which ain't my "usual" anymore!!).  I now weigh 161 as of this morning.  Woo hoo!

Congratulations on the weight loss!  Isn't it fun to "discover" a new size?  Keep up the good work.

Hair
Didn't sleep well last night, so too tired to wash.  Sides are held up and back with barettes; length is down with a bit of wave from night braids.  Hair is still in great condition and pretty much on schedule for reaching BSL soon.

Stepson moved back in with us, yet again, last evening (i.e., the not sleeping well).  We had very little advance notice of this event.  Not that it would have mattered.  He's family, so of course he can stay with us!  Once everyone settles into a routine things will even out.  I just hope that, this time, his marriage is truly over and kaput.  It's been a weird and often unsettled 5-year relationship.  But I'm not holding my breath.  I'll believe it when I see the signed and sealed divorce papers.  I know divorce should be a last resort, however in their case it's WAY past due.

Still writing when I have time.  I have the basics of the beginning, middle and ending worked out, and am now working on the "stuffing"--the fillers, so to speak.  More detailed descriptions of the characters.  Insight into their backgrounds.  All that good stuff.  To me, this is the hard part.  But with this story I'm determined to get it finished and get it sent out to some publishers.  I've never reached that point before.  I think I've always been afraid of rejection.  What's the worst they can tell me?  --That my writing stinks?!  BAH!  I've beaten stage III ovarian cancer; you think I give a fig what some stranger thinks of me?  Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, it sounds like you have a lot going on right now with your stepson moving in and your writing a book.  Hopefully things will all fall into place really soon. Smiley  I wouldn't beat myself up over a fear of rejection, I'm sure we all have issues with that, but we shouldn't let fear stop us from at least trying, like you said, whats the worst they can say???

I'm overjoyed that you were able to overcome stage III ovarian cancer, I'm sure that must have been a really tough and frightening ordeal, I can definitely see how anything else that arises in your life would be a piece of cake! Wink  Good luck with everything!!!

Trisha,

My husband is a writer, and I find it's neat to find other writers in other areas of my life.  Have you heard of NaNoWriMo?  It's "National Novel Writing Month" and this year is the 3rd time my husband's going to give it a go.  http://www.nanowrimo.org/  It's a great way to get words on paper.

Hair
It's a no-wash day.  Due to hubby and one of the cats hogging the bed on either side of me, I didn't sleep too well and, so, woke up not wanting to do much of anything, let alone mess with my hair.  At least I slept in piggy braids last night and my length has some wave today.

Coming close to the end of my Giovanni s+c, so once more I must decide to continue or switch.  It would be a lot easier for me to simply use my daughter's products.  With 4 people now sharing one bathroom, I feel the need to keep the shower ledges as empty as possible (if that's possible at all).  She switches products on a regular basis, but always has a base supply of Tre Semme.  My hair used to like Tre Semme, so I may try it again, and that way, there would be two less bottles in the shower.  Or I could simply make a new rule that nothing besides soap gets left in the shower, and people would bring out their s+c from the bathroom closet every morning.  *sigh*  I don't know if I want to go that far.  Lord, I wish that house had a second bathroom.  Oh well, we'll make it work somehow.

Other
Still writing a little every day, or at least making an attempt.  Some days I write for hours on end; some days it's only two minutes.  I try to remember not to scold myself on the "short" days; the words come when they are ready and not before...sort of like giving birth.

Someone, an acquaintance at work from another department, remarked yesterday on my weight loss.  I guess it has been a few months since I've seen her, and she said, "Trisha, you've lost weight, haven't you?  You look great!"  I'm certain I beamed.   Smiley  It's always nice when others acknowledge the positive changes in your life.

Hair
I used up the last of my Giovanni this morning.  I've decided to return to Tre Semme for a while, assuming my hair still likes it.  If my hair doesn't like Tre Semme anymore...well, I'll milk that cow when I come to it.  This weekend I need to do a vinegar rinse.  May as well do that tomorrow when I switch product.

Not a whole lot happening right now (not complaining, God; thank you!).  One of my favorite television shows comes on tonight:  Ghost Whisperer.  My other faves include: Ugly Better (probably my favorite of the faves!), Grey's Anatomy (just getting into that one), Eureka (on Sci-fi, even tho the season is already over), Little People, Big World (the Roloff family).
And now I'm off to do some writing!   Smiley  Take care, dah-lings!

Hair
7 days until I reach BSL--can that be right?!?!?!  Holy crap.
My hair seems to like the Tre Semme s+c, so far, and I'm hoping the good results will last.  Instead of having big ol' honkin' bottles in the shower, I've put the shampoo in one of those travel size pump bottles.  So I'm also using less product when I wash, which is better for my hair.  One pump equals...oh, I don't know--probably about one teaspoon.  I should measure that, just to satisfy my curiosity.

Other
Stepson's divorce proceedings are underway.  His father and I have given our attorney the fee to get started.  In this case, it's fortunate that there are no children involved, only a huge amount of debt on both sides.  THAT they will have to figure out for themselves.  We've already thrown away too much money on those two.  They need to learn about consequences; that for every decision they make, a consequence happens.  Sometimes good, sometimes very very bad.

Husband is growing more stressed every day due to his son living with us.  The stepson is very clingy right now, and is almost attached to his father at the hip.  Husband is used to having his days alone and doing what he wants, when he wants.  Also having one more (large) mouth to feed has put a strain on our one-income budget.  Husband declares that he must now get a job, whether the work damages his bad back further and causes him constant pain.  So he has applied for a security guard job at a large manufactoring plant close by our home.  I don't know whether to pray for him to get the job or not!   Huh
There's no question that we could use the money.  But I don't want to see him in more pain than he's already experiencing.  ARGH!  --If I wasn't so close to BSL, I'd think about pulling my hair out!  (at least my sense of humor is intact!)

I hope everything works out on the home front and that your ticker is correct and you do reach your goal in 6 days. Smiley

One question though, is it your stepson or husband that is looking for the job?

One question though, is it your stepson or husband that is looking for the job?

Yes!   Grin
Due to having many, many bad discs in his neck and spine, my husband has been out of work for the last three years.  Every now and then he's made an attempt at various types of jobs.  But all of them were too much for his condition.  He feels guilty about me being the sole "bacon-bringer", and now that his son has moved in with us, our already limited budget has been stretched to the breaking point.  So hubby has decided that he MUST get a job, regardless of his pain level.  *sigh*  We'll see how that goes.  Also the son (who is 24) is currently jobless, a condition he's trying to remedy (but not quickly enough to suit his father and I).  My daughter, 26, also lives with us, but she mostly does her own thing.  She has 2 jobs; a full-time and a part-time.  She buys her own food, clothing, etc.  Honestly, I don't believe we're doing too badly at all.  But my husband was raised very poor where they sometimes had no food in the house.  So when he sees our foodstock start to dwindle, it brings back those bad memories and he panics.  Whew!  That was a long response; I guess I needed to get that off my chest.  Thanks, girl!   Wink

Weather today is perfect for late Autumn in Missouri--dark and rainy.  Perfect day for a ghost story!

Hair
So far, so good with the Tre Semme.  Didn't wash this morning.  I'll do a vinegar rinse tomorrow.

"Due to unforseeable events anticipated results are unpredictable"

Ironically someone this morning gifted me with a little desk plaque displaying those words.  I say ironically because, boy, it sure was one of those weekends.
My brother in law is now staying with us for a couple of weeks.  He's an over the road truck driver, 47 years old, never married, no kids, avoids the family as often as he can, former alcoholic, former drug addict, has been hypertensive for many years, and has now been diagnosed with diabetes.  He was undergoing a physical exam in order to obtain health insurance when this condition was found...in other words, he has no medical insurance.  OUCH.  And so he suddenly finds himself short on fundage.  He's out in the truck so much that, when he's in town, he stays at a motel rather than paying rent on a house or apartment.
Despite all of his shortcomings, BIL is a very likeable guy.  He's smart, he's funny, and he can hold a conversation with just about anyone on the planet.  It's a real shame that he's such a loner.  So for at least a couple of weeks, we'll be able to enjoy each other's company.  This makes 5 adults in a house with 1 bathroom, and all of us are morning-shower people.   Sad  I'm thinking I may have to switch to nighttime showers...or start getting up a half hour earlier (which would put me rising at 4:30am).
Of one thing there's little doubt:  due to unforseeable events anticipated results are unpredictable.

I'm so sorry to hear of your BIL medical woes.  Hopefully he can get things under control.

I wait with baited breath to hear if you reached BSL when you thought you would!

Well, I haven't gotten out the ol' tape measure yet today.  But an unofficial measure (consisting of me reaching up behind my back and touching the ends of my hair, confirms that I have indeed reached, drum roll please.....BSL.   Smiley  This is the first of my three goals, and has taken me one year and a half to accomplish.  I could not have done it without the support of the people on this site.   Kiss  Onward now to my second goal of waist length!
And to all of my pagan friends I wish a happy and blessed Samhain!
