Ice cream--drool--I don't eat it very often but when I do I want good stuff (unless it's post-dentist, then I just want ice cream--any ice cream.). I want Chunky Monkey or B&J's version of butter pecan.  Or Haagen-Dazs' Tiramisu gelato (*THUNK!*  I just fainted from hypoglycemia).  I haven't seen that gelato in years.  Sigh.  Now I'm all hungry and I just had lunch.  This is bad.

Gotta head on out to the old PO today.  I've got a bunch (well, three, but to me it's a bunch) of packages to mail, and a money order to get.  I bought a Mammoth ivory hairstick from Blondiesturn on eBay.  She makes beautiful, high quality hairtoys, and did I mention that it's made of Mammoth ivory?  That just tickles me for some reason.  "Guess what my hairstick's made of?"  "What?"  "Mammoth ivory."  Hee!

Wearing Santa Muerte today.  I really, really like this.  I think it's going on the top of the big bottle list.  Floral and sweet, but not too much.  So far pretty good staying power, too.

Modified Gibson with Cherry Tea Sterlingstix.  I love my little teapots.

Hairwash night.  I'm thinking of adding a Lipton's teabag to my herbal rinse.  I found a stash of the things hiding behind the loose tea, and I'm not going to drink it.  I'm not even sure why I bought it.   I did read an article that says tea, whether black or green, caf or decaf can help regulate insulin and blood sugar levels.  Of course it really aggravates my reflux, but you can't have everything.  Maybe a nice cup of tea will keep my blood sugar from bottoming out whenever I think of tiramisu gelato (*THUNK*).

Modified Gibson today, BUT I took a too-small bun cover and used it on the inner bun, then coiled the rest of the hair around it.  Not bad.  A little odd, but I like it.  Usually I stick a pair of sticks into the outer coil on the left to accent it--they stick up like antennae.  I like that.  I think that's why I like the lentil lampwork beads so much; they're big and look even more like antennae.  Anyway, that didn't look quite right to me so I got a 6" VK Designs hairstick (the steel ones with a glass marble in a cage on top) and stuck it through the inner bun.  I like!  The outer coil hides any polyp tendencies of the cover, plus I can use a cover and still get the volume of the MG style.  Now I can make smaller bun covers which is a good because my lateral epicondylitis is acting up (aka "tennis elbow" but since I don't exercise it's a little embarassing to call it tennis elbow and no one knows what I mean if I call it "crochet elbow".  Overuse syndrome sounds nice and official and it's easier to spell, but people start to wonder exactly how your elbow got overused and by the way, don't you go through a lot of batteries, and what is that buzzing noise?) so crocheting becoming difficult.  I think it's about time to switch my time-wasting efforts back to origami or embroidering again.

Well, I didn't use the Lipton tea last night because it's gone.  I wonder if I dreamed it, but though my dreams can be odd I've never dreamed about finding a plastic bag full of Lipton teabags.  If a dream is a wish my heart makes I don't think the two are communicating effectively because I don't really want Lipton teabags and if I did I can readily buy some just about anywhere so it's not like there's any longing for the unattainable going on.

Mata Hari today.  Ehhh.  Not terrible, but I don't think this is going to be a big bottle order.  I may use the imp, but it's probably destined for the swap pile.  I'm saving Rage for my dentist appointment next week.  Grin

The cats are in a holding pattern.  They're annoying but not escalating.  I have a wooden stand for crochet cotton; it looks like a toilet paper holder and it keeps the ball of thread from rolling away.  I was using it to crochet my red snood (estimated time to finish:  slightly after the sun implodes) and Rumpole almost lost his mind.  I really haven't crocheted since he's been in the house (4 years and counting) so he's never seen this.  His pupils dilated and his legs stiffened, he jumped up next to the holder and went "Oh, my GOD, this is the best toy EVER!!"  He attacked and chewed every milimeter of thread before it was incorportated into the snood and became quite put out if I stopped crocheting and the thread stopped moving.  He's decided that the crochet thread is even better than the occasional bats that wander inside.

The nephew had his first ride on a Ferris Wheel and loved it.  I'm sorry I missed it.  He also stomped every mud puddle at the fair dry.  I'm not sorry I missed that. Wink  My dad actually taught the child how to stomp mud puddles.  Grin  And my parents wonder why I'm child-free.  8)

Yoga, you say?  Is there a yoga that my arm can do on its own, maybe while I"m asleep?  I'm not bendy at all.

Found the tea!  I'd tossed it upstairs so I wouldn't forget about it.  Roll Eyes  Sometimes I wish international spies would search my house for microfilm so I could ask them what else they'd run across. (Like my red shirt.  Or my black jeans, or the TITLE TO MY CAR which was on the loveseat and now isn't anywhere.  Actually my house would be a great place to hide microfilm because no one would ever find it ever no matter what.  I'm firmly convinced my property is harboring a small black hole somewhere that sucks in my posessions and spits out cats.  Not a fair deal IMO.  Tongue)

I was rummaging about looking for the title to the car and found my ID from a job I had 10 years ago, which is completely useless and probably why the black hole regurgitated it.

Gory's ears look a little better, but he was in a fight and the wounds are ulcerating.  He's getting better; he's decided that I won't hurt him, but he's still a long way from letting me take him to the vet without slipping him a mickey first.

Aizen-Myoo today.  I like it, maybe enough to get a big bottle.  A little floral, a little fruity, lasts 3/4 of the day.  I'll try it again and see if I fall in love with it.

French twist today held with my spider slide from the Bronze Jewelers.  It won't hold if I double my hair over, so I brought the tail down behind the slide and tucked it in the seam, securing it with a couple of magic grip hair pins.  It's held all day and looks pretty good.

Since I use tea tree oil on my face twice a day I'm no longer putting it in my oil for facewashing.  Now I'm using lavender, rosemary, and grapefruit eos and I like it.  It smells much nicer than with the tea tree oil.  I'm using grapeseed oil with a touch of shea butter this time.  Last time I used apricot kernel oil which was very nice.  Macadamia and sweet almond oil works well, too, and all of them double as hair oil in a pinch.  I ordered some salicylic acid, which is oil and alcohol soluble, and I'lll put some in the facewash oil when it arrives.

I thinned some Burt's Bees avacado hair treatment with sweet almond oil and oiled my hair with it on Saturday, then used some aloe butter (aloe infused into coconut oil) on Sunday.  Hair is nice and soft today.  I did use the Lipton's tea in my herbal rinse.  With the tea, rosemary, sage, catnip, and hibiscus, the rinse is getting very dark, and so is my turbi towel.

The hair has started growing again--an inch in the last 4 weeks.  I could tell it had grown because I can finally make a plain bun held with nothing but hairsticks.  It's taken 3 inches and 5 months to reach this point.  Thick hair sucks, sometimes.

A big hello to computer services who are monitoring my typing.  Hi, guys!

Anyway, I'm at 28.25 inches.  My hair measurer tried to get me to have a trim.  Um, NO!!!  Yes, the ends are a bit tatty but I don't wear my hair down anyway so who cares?  Besides, I need those tatty ends to help hold my bun together.  Trim, my left eyeball.  Bleah.

Cinnabun held with my Bahama Breeze Rapunzelstix today.  Hairwash night.  The hair was very dry this morning, so I slathered it with aloe/jojoba.  This stuff is a miracle.  My hair is nice and soft, plus it smells like lavender eo.

On the BPAL front, I'm wearing Catherine today.  Rosemary, orange blossom and rose.  Three great things that...don't do well together.  It smells very sharp and astringent at first (not like plain rosemary eo--I use rosemary eo frequently so I'm familiar with the smell and I like it), and not pleasant at all.  When it finally dries, it smells like rose, which I like, but I already have several rose scents and I don't need another one.  Especially one that's stinky until the drydown.  I had high hopes for this one.  Oh, well.  That's what imps are for, though I did order a 5ml of Penny Dreadful unsniffed.  Everyone said it smelled like Zombi, only earthier.  Mmmmmm......Zombi.  Oh, well, BPAL is like currency if you go to the right places so if I hate it I"m sure I'll find someone to take it off of my hands.

The cats are the cats.  Annoying but not too much.  Rumpole jumped on my bladder this morning but I had to get up for work anyway, so no harm, no foul.  I fussed at him a bit anyway though; if he thought I wanted him to do that he'd never do it again.   Grin

Mammoth tusks.  Or teeth.  Probably tusks, the stick is 7" long; of course I don't know how long mammoth's teeth were.  Something from the mouth area of the mammoth and set with coral and sterling silver.

Double buns today held with 2 pairs ML sticks--tiger's eye roses and brown crystals topped with a rhinestone-studded gold ball.  I parted wrong and the bottom bun is a bit bigger so my hair looks a little like a pyramid so I wore my BPAL Nuit today.  Not bad; I don't really like musk, but white musk seems to go with my chemistry.  It doesn't last very long, though.  I need to break out my scent lockets.

Bogie was playing with some curling ribbon last night.  The last time he did that he nearly choked on it, so I took it away from him.  He gave me that irritated eye-roll perfected by cats and 13-year-old girls, gave me a "Whatever" tail flick and stalked off.  I'm sure I"ll pay for this somehow.

Gory was hungry today and came right up to the food while I was standing there.  If I'd straightened out my fingers I'd have poked him in the nose.  I hope I can get the little thing to the vet soon, though he is looking much better than when he first showed up in February.  It's amazing what a little kindness, food, and worm medicine will do.

Dentist tomorrow.

AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm almost 100% sure I'm getting a root canal.  I"m such a wimp.  On the plus side I'll get a nice gold tooth.  I told my brother I'm getting a gold tooth and he called me a skanky ghetto 'ho.  Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!  I'll try to cling to my sense of humor to get through tomorrow.

Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone!  They must have worked, because I didn't get a root canal.  It did hurt like heck when he pulled off the temporary cap, but it feels better with the gold on it.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I must admit gold does feel nice; I just have to be careful of anything too hot or cold because that makes it ache.  Hopefully the tooth will be come less sensitive as time goes on.

Well, it happened.  Gorey let me pet him this weekend.  D@mmit.  What am I, the Cat Whisperer?  I just want an outside cat or 2 to keep the rodent population down, not a commitment; but it happens every time.  First Rumpole, then Agatha (who becomes more imperious by the day) and now little Gorey.  Poor thing, he's so skinny and is covered with wounds.  I"m sure he has feline leukemia because he doesn't heal well, though he has improved a great deal in the 8 months or so he's been hanging around.  Hopefully I'll get him to the vet within the next month or so.

Why can't I have a talent for attracting useful things, like winning lottery tickets?

If I had enough winning lottery tickets I could afford to build a cat house out back for the infected ones.  Cheesy

I think I"m just going to give up and embrace the crazy cat ladyness inside.  No risk of getting burned for witchcraft--at least for the moment.

Hair--there.  No major changes.  Modified Gibson with a turquoise bun cover on the inner bun.  I twisted the outer coil into a double braid before wrapping.  It looks nice but only covers about 3/4 of the inner bun.  It looks ok.

I am going to posit a hypothesis--my hair will grow an inch a month for 2 months and then not do jack for 2 months because it's working on thickness.  So I should grow an inch in August and nothing in September.  We'll see.

Blood Rose today.  I like it, though I don't smell the rose at all, just the red wine and dragon's blood.  Dragon's blood smells sweet to me; it's in Rage, which I wore on Thursday.  It didn't smell angry so I added some black pepper eo that I had lying around.  It still didn't smell enraged but the black pepper did elevate it to pique, so that's something.

Modified Gibson, only I divided each part into 2 and twisted them together.  It makes it look more elaborate, but it also pulls my hair back more, so it's not as poofy in front.  Ah, well, it's a nice option anyway.  I'm wearing my Sparkling Heart Gemstix.  Those go with everything.

Petted little Gorey again today.  He was happy for about a minute, then "thanks, but I need to eat now."  Just like a man.  8)

I got some red palm oil and rubbed a bit on my braid tassel before bed last night.  Wow!!  Shocked  My ends were so soft today.  I also rubbed some on my feet.  It turned them the color of iodine (briefly) but it got rid of the dry skin.  I think I like this, even though I find the color slightly nauseating. (Pale orange, nothing bad but it makes me slightly sick to my stomach.  Odd.  ???)

Also got some salycylic acid and put a pinch in my face washing oil.  It seems to be working.  I take off my eye makeup with a different oil and rub some of the plain oil on my lips to protect them.  I used Meadowfoam seed oil last night and found it to be slippery, almost like broccoli seed oil.  I'll have to try it on my hair.  I also bought a tiny bottle of Amla oil.  It smells funny, but I'm going to try it on my greys next deep treatment weekend.

My hair looked fantastic last night before I washed it; I wonder what I did?  I used red palm oil last night for a leave-in, and this morning I used aloe/jojoba on the canopy--I've had trouble with dryness and tangling when I put my hair up damp--so I'll see what happens.  I know some of why my hair looked so darn good (except for being blah boring brown 'n grey straight slippery ick hair) was oiling, but I don't remember doing anything that different, except putting the red palm oil on my braid tassel Monday night.

I have really really tried to love my hair but I don't.  I am finally beginning to accept the straightness, so I guess that's a start.

Gorey lets me pet him am and pm when I give him food.  He rubs his head against my hand for about 30 seconds and he's done; if I try to pet him further he gives me a very irritated look.  Bogie and Rumpole glower at me through the windows and hiss obscenities at me when I come inside.  They know where this is leading.  8)

French twistish thing today with my X-O.  I really like this; I may order another one or two in different colors.  I don't like the pins that came with it, but I have a pair of silver chopsticks (7.5 inches) that work very nicely and they don't poke me in the back of the neck.

I can't wait to check my ends and see what the palm oil did to them, but I'm not taking my hair down until I have to--it's too darn hot (too darn hot.  I'd like to sup with my baby tonight....)  Sorry.  Kiss Me Kate flashback there.

Sorry, Gabi.  I have no digital camera and no way to upload pics even if I did.  I am looking into getting dsl and then cat pics galore!!  Smiley

Gorey d@mn near wallowed me to death last night.  I petted him and went inside, then before I went upstairs I tapped on the door and waved at him; he left his food and came mewing up to the door.  I petted and petted and petted and petted and petted and petted....poor thing is starved for affection.  He rolled around and played with me and even cuddled up to me and went to sleep.  Now that I get a closer look at him, I do believe that he's altered.

/soapbox rant--WARNING/

I get so angry at people who assume that cats can just be let loose to take care of themselves.  Look at poor Gorey--he was loved enough for someone to neuter him and I strongly suspect he was a house cat.  Yes, he's still alive, but he's scared and sick and skinny; he's most likely contracted feline leukemia, a mortal disease; he has worms and non-healing wounds; he has ear mites and loss of hearing from them; he wants nothing more than to be a house cat and be loved and look where he is now!  If he's feline leukemia +, letting him in the house is problematic at best, and what if he didn't follow the feline underground to my house?  Where would he be then?  This is cruelty to animals, people, just the same as if you'd put him in the clothes dryer and turned it on.  I put the crazy cat lady curse on those who cast him out, and believe me, that's one curse you do not want to have.

However, if he ran away the curse will be invalidated so the innocent won't suffer.

/steps off soapbox/

Sunday, when I petted Gorey, his spine felt like a string of beads under his skin.  Yesterday, I couldm't feel them at all.  It's amazing how quickly animals respond to affection.

Or he's sucking the life force out of me in the hopes of inheriting.  Your call.  8)

Simple bun with my S&L cat sticks.  It's so nice to be able to make a bun with only sticks again, I just can't tell you.  I did a lace braid from ear to ear which keeps the front of my hair from being skinned back too tightly.

Red palm oil as a leave-in on wet hair left a film on my ends.  Not really greasy, but not pleasant either.  Last night I oiled with camilla oil and put the red palm oil on my braid tassel again.  Very nice.  Very nice indeed.  My hair is soft and is behaving wonderfully.  I may end up replacing my jojoba with camilla if this keeps up; or at least during the summer since my hair seems much drier and tanglier than in winter.  The camilla oil is a bit heavier than the jojoba and my hair does seem to love it.

Voodoo today.  It smells remarkably like smoke and black ashes of a burned-out campfire.  Not unpleasant really, but not anything I want to wear on a regular basis.  Yesterday I wore Blood, which had a nice cherry-clove scent in the imp, but changed to clove almost as soon as I put it on.  Ehh.  I wonder, though, how blood would smell layered with rage?  A new project, hooray!
