I hope your back gets better soon.  At least you have a house full of fur balls to keep you company while you're sick.  Smiley

Thanks for the sympathy everyone!  My back is better today.  I still brought the cane to work, but I don't really need it.  I just can't move too quickly or twist around suddenly.

Hair:  Chopstick twist with my Spiced Rosaline Rapunzelstix.  The hair was very dry and tangly yesterday.  I had to use camilla oil and annoint my braid tassel with red palm oil. (not only is the color slightly nauseating, but the faint odor is a bit sickening to me as well.  It works wonders on my ends and my dry skin, though.  I guess Grandma was right--medicine has to taste bad to work.  Cheesy)

Cats:  Bogie hocked up a hairball on the bedroom carpet last night.   I comb him with his own personal horn comb every night, but I think he uses hairballs as a weapon.  I"m sure it was on purpose because he was giving me his best sweetface look this morning.  8)

Rumpole jumped up on the bed this morning and breathed up my nose until I opened my eyes.  A big close-up of a black cat face (with cat food breath as well  Roll Eyes) is not my ideal alarm clock.

Agatha is a bit better.  We play and play and I give her occasional canned food--she wasn't eating it daily so it would become quite disgusting.  She ate almost all of her kibble last night so hopefully she's not quite as upset.

Gorey hasn't been around the last couple of evenings but he's front and center every morning for food and love.

BPAL:  Queen Gertrude (violet, wisteria, chrysanthemum, delphinium) today.  It's a very soft floral with surprising staying power, but little throw.  It's a very pretty scent but I don't think it's me.

BPAL horror:  I lost my imp of Jack!!!!!  Shocked I was going to bring it to work and somewhere between the bathroom and my desk it disappeared!  AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!  I miss it already.  Embarrassed

What is an "imp of Jack"?  Whatever it is, sounds like something a cat would steal.  Wink

An imp is what they call the sample-sized scents over at BPAL.  Jack is one of my all-time favorite BPAL scents and all I had was an imp and it's GONE!!!!!!  Angry  Possible cat theft, but the evil ones have been vomiting to show their displeasure lately rather than resorting to theft.  It's entirely possible, though.  Horrid things.  I knew I should have gotten a fish.   Wink

Today's math lesson comes to you courtesy of Revolution Tea.  A box of 16 teabags is $4.99, and a box of 30 teabags is $12.75.  Which is the better deal?

If you said the box of 30 teabags then you too can be an executive at Revolution Tea.

My back is better and I don't need the cane anymore.  The muscles of my low back are still shortened, so my posture is extremely good; I keep my shoulders as far back as possible to take the strain off of my low back and I walk with funny little steps.  I feel like a dog walking on its hind legs.

Hair:  Because of various feline-related issues I only had time for a scalp wash last night, though I did use my herb rinse.  It seemed to work fine and my length is clean enough.  This might be the solution for my first-day hair holding problem.   Today I started off with 2 buns held in place with my Bronze Jewelers' Tri-Rose Pic, but the bottom bun fell out by mid-morning.  I twisted the loose hair around the top bun and it's held fine since.

Cats:  Bogie wanted to play grab the Q-tip this morning.  I can always tell because he stands on his hind legs, groping on the sinktop with his front paws while giving me an extremely meaningful look.  There are only about 300 Q-tips scattered about the house now but they are Not Acceptable.

Rumpole spent most of the evening slumped on my left shoulder.  We were having a lovely time until a dog on the TV started barking and Rumpole growled and stomped off, to look for the #$% dog, I guess.

Agatha meeEEOOOwwed over and over again at 10:45, 2:30, 3:42, and 4:05.  This morning we had a frank, heart to heart discussion about her frustration with being shut up in the Kitty Suite and the limit on my credit card that would make it possible for me to have her voicebox removed.  Grin

Gorey--I think I have an idea why Mr. Fuzzwad Weaselbutt ended up on my porch--the little SOB is a biter.  He doesn't break the skin but he scratches and bruises it.  He bit the back of my hand last night--he bites down and pulls at the skin, ouch--so I went inside; then this morning he didn't want me to leave so he bit me on the foot.  I yelled "OOOWWW" and "NO!  Nononono!"  and stomped my foot.  2 weeks ago he'd have run off, but today he planted his feet and glared at me.  Yeah, it's all my fault.  He's lucky that I have a very high tolerence for feline foolishness, though I can do without the dreams about a vampire cat following me about that I've been having lately.

BPAL:  Two, Five, and Seven (A huge bouquet of squished rose petals: Bulgarian rose, Somalian rose, Turkish rose, Damascus rose, red and white rose, tea rose, wine rose, shrub roses, rose, rose, rose…and just an itty bitty bit of green grass.)  I thought the winey, fruity note I smell in Blood Rose (red rose, red wine, dragon's blood) was from the red wine, but I get the same scent from this.  I must read some roses as winey.  Huh.  I like it, though, and while I don't smell any rose in Blood Rose I do get a little rose scent here.  It's like a whole garden of debauched roses smashed out of their gourds on sangria.  I like it.   Cheesy

Ooooh, curse you 13bodies!  Wink  After all of your descriptions, I just had to head over to BPAL.  Bought not one but two six-packs of imps to try.

Sheesh, just what I needed, another obsession!   Smiley

I went to the BPAL site. Their products sound so neat! I already have a list of imps I want to get. *groan* As if I'm not spending enough money on non-essentials already. Happy

Bwahahahahahahaha!  ...

No, really, I'm just spreading the love....and the bankruptcy.   Grin

Hair:  My length had a faint dirty hair smell last night which persisted even after I misted it with rosewater and slathered it with camilla oil + lavender eo before bed.  I'll just have to face the fact that nothing takes the place of washing.

My Silvered Cinnabar Majestix came in yesterday.  Gorgeous, as always.  Cheesy  Cinnabar was my all-time favorite scent when I was young, but my body chemistry changed and it smells terrible on me now.  Oh well, at least I have my hairsticks and they'll be perfect always.   8)

Cats:  Bogie is Bogie--cranky and cuddly by turns and occasionally all at once.  He grabbed a hair elastic and a makeup brush off of the sink this morning before I could stop him.

Rumpole is sleeping with me at night and cuddling on my nice red down comforter all day as well.  There's an oval depression lined with black fur on the foot of my bed.  I'd best get used to it, because it'll be there until next June.

Agatha OOOOOwwwWWWW'd at 2:15 this morning but then she shut up.  We played in the Kitty Suite for at least 20 minutes and then I was in the craft room with her for 3 MTM episodes, so I really don't think she has much to complain about.   Roll Eyes

Gorey was MIA last night but was back this am.  No biting today.  His ears are much, much better and he's not sneezing anymore.  He really wants in though and I know it'll just get worse come winter.  No openings at the vet this weekend, maybe next.

BPAL:  heh heh heh.

The Red Queen today (mahogany and various woods, black cherry, currant).  This was a freebie that I likely wouldn't have tried on my own, since I'm a bit leery of berry scents.  I tried Lady MacBeth (sweet wine, red currant, thyme, wild berries) and it smelled like Bubble Yum.  Ick.  The Red Queen is much better.  It smells like dark sweet cherries and then very quickly changes to a rich wood scent.  It doesn't last too long, though.  It's definately on the big bottle possibles list.

Darn Beth anyhow for her huge list of Halloween/Fall LE's.  The Pumpkin Patch!  Aaarrgh!  I can't resist pumpkin in any way, shape, or form.

Drat.

@#%^*&%#^$@!!!!

I wrote out a nice long entry over lunchtime and the computer froze and I lost it all.   Angry  There is no way I'm retyping it, so I'll summarize:

Hair:  Clean.  Non stinky.   Cherry Tea Sterlingstix

Cats:  Evil but fuzzy.

BPAL:  Midway (funnel cake, caramel apple, cotton candy, salt water taffy and sugar tart).  Smells like caramel, popcorn, butter, and sugar.   Drool.  It made me hungry all day, so I may just use this as a room scent.

I slept for 3 days.  I love holidays.

Hair:  Clean.  Ear-to-ear lace braid and simple bun held with Butterfly Sky Original LL sticks.  If I braid and then gather my hair in a low ponytail, and then twist the tail like a french twist until it reaches the middle of the back of my head, my bun is small enough to wear my shorter sticks.  My hair isn't long enough to make a decent bun with a full french twist, but just wait.

Cats:  Bogie was super-cuddly this weekend and acted as though he was on the verge of starving to death for 3 days straight.  He even stuck his nose in my Stinky Cabbage Soup with Dumplings and my tomato dumplings even though he knows he doesn't like them.

I slept on the couch most of the time and Rumpole was right there on top of me.  Of course he was mostly kneading and kneading and kneading and kneading....

Agatha's been hanging in and around the house for 2+ years now and I have never seen her sleep.  She will not sleep when I'm around.  Yesterday I played with her from 2-5 and I could tell she was ready to drop, but she Would Not Sleep.  I finally chased her back in the Kitty Suite.  I think she was relieved.

Gorey is an aggressive little so-and-so.  This morning he was VERY unhappy that I stopped petting him so I could to go to work and earn a living and he pounced on my foot and bit and clawed me hard enough to draw blood.  I updated my tetnus shot today and I think I'm going to buy some galoshes to wear when I'm petting him.  I'm also going to cut his balls off at the earliest opportunity.   Wink

BPAL:  ZOMBI!!!  Zombi was the reason I tried BPAL in the first place.  Someone recommended the site and it looked nice, but when I read about Zombi (dried roses, rose leaf, spanish moss, oakmoss, and earth) I had to try some.  Zombi smells very brown and pink to me; it's a heavy rose scent with amazing staying power, but it's not too sweet.  When I want it to be a bit rosier, like today, I layer it with Lucy's Kiss (rose and Victorian spices)  Lucy's Kiss isn't spicy--it's straight rose with a slight soapy edge, but not bad soapy.

Once again, I'm going to put my pending BPAL orders here so I can find 'em when I want 'em.  Luckily I had so much during my last order to keep me busy I'm not yearning for these quite so much, but I am eager to try my first lunacy blend.  I hear this month's is supposed to be called Blood Moon.  I simply cannot resist anything called Blood Moon.  I hope it doesn't debut on a Saturday--the lunacy oils are only up for a few days.  Embarrassed

Anyway--

7/21/05
5ml:
        A Little Lunacy: Fruit Moon
        Penny Dreadful
        Kurukulla
Imps:
           1.  Scarecrow
           2.  Les Fleurs Du Mal
           3.  Nocturne
           4.  Eve
           5.  Bastet
           6.  Vice
           7.  Ouija
           8.  Elegba
           9.  Gluttony
           10. Djinn
           11. Dorian
           12. Magdalene

8/19/05
5ml:
A Little Lunacy: Harvest Moon 2005
       Santa Muerte
       Whip

9/1/05
5ml:

       Limited Edition: Trick or Treat
       Limited Edition: Sugar Skull
Limited Edition: Dia de los Muertos
       Limited Edition: Devil's Night
       Jack
       Black Rose

I should get the July order the end of this month, and the August order in October.  I hope I get my Halloween LE's before Nov. 15 so I can order more if I love 'em.  Especially Trick or Treat (candy corn scent) since I promised that one to Mom.

Important addresses:

Helping Hands for Texas
c/o Alamo Premier Mortgage Group
10223 281 Freeway, Suite 200
San Antonio TX  78216

Salvation Army
5302 Harry Hines
Dallas TX  75235

Salvation Army
7361 Airline Highway
Baton Rouge LA  70805

All of the above are in need of plus-sized clothing (especially 3X on up) for the evacuees, refugees, displaced citizens--whatever you like.  They're dressing some of these women in garbage bags and blankets; now, when I was a fat kid in 6th grade and the only clothes that fit me were so dowdy even my grandmother wouldn't be buried in the hideous things I thought my life was tough; but I NEVER had to wear a trash bag.   Angry  I'm collecting clothes here at work and my office is already full of clothes and boxes.  I'm sending my tornado clothes, too.  (I have a couple of bags full of clothes in the basement because if a tornado carries off the rest of my house I know there is no way I can get clothes that fit me locally.  Here's hoping karma will keep the tornados away from my house now that my stash is gone.  Wink)

I tried to order some bras and underpants from Just My Size yesterday and to have them delivered to the Salvation Army in Dallas.  I typed in the addy and they asked me if it was in city limits or not.  What am I, Rain Man?  Like I carry around the exact location of Salvation Armies across the bloody US?  I decided it was in city limits.  Fine.  Then the site said that the zip code covered a large area and I needed to enter the county in which said place pays taxes.  So I screamed at the monitor "I've got $90 worth of panties here, why don't you cut me some slack!"  The scary thing is no-one at work even looked twice.  I think they're used to me now.

Perhaps I should send JMS a GPS so they can have the precise and exact latitude and longitude of any delivery?  Maybe I should drive to their warehouse, pick up the stuff and deliver it myself?  Or maybe, just maybe, they should ADDRESS THE *&%% PACKAGE AND LET THE USPS/UPS DO THEIR JOB!!!!  (rant rant rant)  See if I give them my panty business from now on.  Tongue

I'm also digging through my hairtoy stash and am sending some scrunchies, elastics, and barrettes along because one must, even when in a trash bag, take care of one's hair.  Cheesy

So, if anyone reading has some extra things, or knows someone who might have something, or knows a friend or relative who's had the gastric bypass surgery, send some clothes out.  It'll make such a difference to these women.

NOTE:  The boxes should be marked "Designate for Hurricane Disaster Relief" on the outside and it might be a good idea to put a piece of paper on the inside with that on it as well.  Also, items must be sent to the specific Salvation Army address listed (inside or outside city limits in Whatever County Smiley) as local Salvation Army chapters aren't accepting donations to send on.
