What a generous person you are.  Your post opens our eyes to some of the "hidden" issues that are out there.  Plus-sized clothing is most certainly needed and probably not often thought of.  I think I will just have to do some shopping today with that in mind.

Thank you.  Smiley

We like to send some clothing from here. Hubby already bought a bunch of toys he wants to send off.

You are so thoughtful.  I do have a couple of friends that have had GPS - men and women - and will pass the word.  But they have probably thought of this.  I'm glad you brought awareness to the rest of us.  It makes perfect sense that if you are going to buy anything to donate, to buy large sizes because a smaller person can still wear it.

And good idea about the hair accessories too.  Smiley

I have extensive online shopping experience, not to mention BPAL swaps, craft swaps, fridgie swaps, eBay, etc.--in other words, I have sent and received many many packages--and I have never ever been asked to supply the name of the county in which my recipient is located.  Those addresses are complete as they are.  I don't know what JMS's problem is.   ???

I went to my semi-local Hobby Lobby on Friday and was pleasantly surprised to find a decent selection of crochet books.  Finally.  Roll Eyes  I was beginning to feel marginalized, and I'd hate to think my carpal tunnel syndrome was developed in vain.

Hair:  Yesterday I experimented with Khrome's braided bun variant.  I don't have the hair she does, so I folded the tassel up a little, then folded the whole braid in half, lifted the mass up against my head and slid my tortie Ficcare behind it to fasten it up.  It looked nice but it slid slowly down the back of my head all day long.  The Ficcare ended up at the nape of my neck, but the style still looked good, so I rate it as a winner.   Cheesy  Today it's my basic ear to ear lace braid and simple bun.  I'm wearing my fob to decorate it.

Cats:  Last night I was unpacking a box that had packing peanuts in it and Bogie was sitting on the TV tray watching me.  I put a peanut by his foot and he knocked it off the tray.  I gave him another one and plop!  He knocked off 17 styrofoam peanuts in a row, then when I gave him the 18th, he gave me an exasperated look that said "That is so-o-o-o-o 10 seconds ago."

Rumpole has decided the best sleeping place in the entire house is up against my pillow.  Where I sleep.  He stares at me reproachfully all night long since I'm hogging his bed.  Ha-ha on him!  After 6 years of being bullied by cats I'm immune to reproachful stares.   8)

Agatha isn't eating again, but she isn't any lighter.  We played with her feather-and-polar-fleece on a stick and she's still pouting because I won't let her jump up on the ironing board.  The fact that she nearly dumped the whole thing over on my head is not a good reason to restrict her movements and she feels that I'm being stubborn simply to annoy her.

Gorey has a bit of an infection behind his left ear, but the skin is in decent shape.  His nose is still cold, his paws are dry and he nearly ate my fingers this morning in his anxiety to reach his food.  I have some Pulvex veternary ointment that I'll try to put on the area this evening.

BPAL:  La Belle au Bois Dormant (plumeria and white pear, Damascus rose, tuberose, magnolia and evening dew)  I'm not a big plumeria fan and I probably wouldn't have bought this, but I got it in a swap.  It's very pretty, floral with a faint fruity background but not too sweet or light.  It lasts reasonably well; I re-applied at noon and I still smell nice now.  I'll try it again, but this seems to be a very strong contender with Alice for my springtime fragrance.

Well, I packed seven boxes of clothes to send.  UPS refused to pick them up today because we didn't specifically call them, so they'll get them tomorrow.  I hope he brings a dolly.  And maybe wears a truss.   Wink  I didn't realize clothes weighed that much.

I am frustrated.  Over at LHC there was a discussion about hermits which lead to a discussion about the Myers-Briggs personality test  (long version is here and the short version is here.  I am a ISFX, meaning I can't quite be categorized--I"m split between the Perceiving and Judging characteristics, with not enough of either to make a call.  SIXTEEN different personality types and I can't even find one that's me.  No wonder I've never fit in anywhere.   Tongue  I'll just stick with the cats.  They don't care if I"m a P, a J, or even a Q.   Wink

Aah yes, I saw that LHC thread.  I'm an INTJ.  I think it's actually good to be uncategorized - if you don't fall to either side of the bars, then that means you're  balanced in most areas, and use all those traits when making decisions.

I can ignore their stares from now until doomsday; I've gotten so good at it that I can not only ignore annoying little kid stares in public places but also be completely unaware that the little brat is looking at me in the first place.  Grin

However, I can't ignore the poking, bumping, mewing, meowing, nipping, biting, scratching, purring, licking, shedding, tickling, cold-nose placing, yowling, growling, crying, grabbing, whining, thumping, and/or jumping that usually accompany the stares.

They're very Fatal Attraction--"I will NOT be ignored!"  And they won't, either.   Roll Eyes

We called UPS to send out the seven boxes of clothes today.  They want the size (height, length and depth) and weight of each box.  The boxes are big and heavy so we estimated them and the nice lady at UPS told us it would cost $700 to send.  So we dragged a scale back here and did what we should have done to begin with and it was $147.22.  Big difference, and that's actually less that I expected.  A couple of my co-workers said they'd kick in to help with shipping, too.  I will be so glad to see the boxes go bye-bye.  Last night I dreamed I was folding a mountain of slippery white blouses and I woke up exhausted.

Simple bun today held with my Winter Sunset Geishastick.  I have a nasty clog in my tub (do ya think it might be hair?  Huh?  Do ya?) and I have to go get some declogger.  My new sticks arrived!  Yay!  I ordered the Meadow Roses FantasyStix and the Rose Frappe DecoStix.  The Meadow Roses have those lentil lampwork beads that I love and the roses are only on one side--the other side is plain green with 3 white dots.  They're reversible!  How cool is that?  I've been fascinated by the Rose Frappe sticks since they were listed and since I had my 10% discount for bidding on the auction I decided it was time to reel those suckers in.  They are GORGEOUS!!  The picture doesn't begin to do them justice.  I loves them, I do.

The cats are in the vanguard of the Evil Army of the Night.  I'm sure they aren't the only ones.  You have been warned.   8)

BPAL:  Jabberwocky (pine, eucalyptus and orange. )  Sharp and cough drop-like at first, then the orange came out and it was a nice piney orange.  Not really me, but pleasant.  Then the pine and eucalyptus killed the orange and aaarrrggghh!!!  Getitoffgetitoffgetitoff!!!  I was already late for work and I didn't have time to wash it off so I slathered on the 2,5, and 7 and the drunken roses slayed the Jabberwock by noon.  My chemistry did terrible things to Jabberwocky; shame too--I love that poem.

Hey 13bodies, just dropping you a note to say, WOW, 7 boxes of clothes is so awesome. I'm still going through my clotheses to find more stuff. I can personally attest to 13bodies' generosity... Thanks again for those fabulous scrunchies and the BSO from swap Smiley I've grown to love all of it very very dearly.

Many hugs  Kiss
