Anais, thank you, but I really didn't do anything--just threw some clothes in a box and write a check.  Everyone here at work has been so generous, and M is the one who dealt with UPS and measured the @!#$$ boxes (which are gone, gone, gone!  Hahahahahaha).  I'll pass your kind comments on to them.   Smiley  I'm glad you're enjoying the oil; it was underused at my house.

Moonchild, I told my mom about my results and she laughed and laughed.  For some reason my ISFX tickled her funny bone (she's an ISFJ) and she keeps mentioning it.  Heh.  She's so easily amused.   8)

I think the clog is gone.  I bought some Ten Minute Clog Remover (TMCR) and some sulfuric acid just in case.  I wanted lye but you can't find lye anymore.  What if someone wants to remove a clog or make soap or dissolve a body?  What are they supposed to do?  Anyway, I followed the directions to a T (a rarity for me)--6 oz of TMCR, wait 10 minutes and gently flush with cool water.  Nada, nix, nothing.  I added 6 oz and went to the Kitty Suite and washed my hair and played with Agatha (who was very upset because I wasted some of our play time washing myself--what, I can't just lick myself clean like any respectible animal?), and in about 1.5 hours rinsed again.  Slightly better.  So, I poured some in (pooh on this measuring stuff), turned on the bathroom fan, closed the door and left it overnight.  This this morning I let the water run, gently, for 40 minutes or so.  I think it might just have worked.  I'm going to let it set overnight tonight, too.  I found a hair catcher at Wal-Moo (they're in the plumbing section.  No wonder I never saw it before) and some Rid-X to bump up the bacteria level in the agitator after using the TMCR, though it's diluted enough so I doubt there will be any problems.  I looked it up on the internet and the sites all agreed that normal household use of bleach or lye won't damage septic tanks.  I bet that wimpy pseudo-lye like the TMCR won't cause any problems either.

Hair:  Modified Gibson with my Sophie and Lucy sticks with the lampwork puppy dog head.

Cats:  Evil and spoiled.  Gorey's a bit sniffly but still feels well enough to bite the hand that feeds him.

BPAL:  La Bella Donna Della dia Mente (Soft, lush myrtle and dry, sweet melilot with wild rose, pomegranate juice and peach blossom against a background of deep aquatic notes and a twirl of melancholy autumn breezes)--light, slightly fruity and floral.  Decent staying power, since I can still smell it and it's noon.  Pretty but not special.  Aquatics really don't do well with me.

Blood Moon is up on the 18th.  That means I'll have to come into the office on Sunday.  I can do that.

Corpse Bride is coming out next week!  I can't wait!  I might actually go to the isolated, smelly bunker that masquerades as a movie theater here in town to see it instead of waiting for the DVD.  (Burton!  Depp!  Stop-motion animation!  I must see it, yes I must.  8))

2 buns today with my Rose Frappe sticks.   And Panpeus, I would totally buy any ice cream called "Rose Frappe"

While Bogie hasn't technically woken me up lately, he waits until around 6:30 am (which is when I start thinking about getting up although I don't actually obtain semi-full consciousness and verticality until around 7:10) and the moment I make the slightest movement he's right beside me purring at top volume and chuckling to himself at how clever he is.

Rumpole and Agatha are having an under the door relationship.  They seem to be getting along nicely though they can't meet face-to-face because of Agatha's feline leukemia; plus I have a strong suspicion they're plotting to band together and kill Bogie.

Gorey has developed an impressive belly; in fact, he's as tight as a tick but he acts like he's starving to death when he attacks his canned food twice a day.  Faker. Cheesy

BPAL:  Titania (white grape, white peach, iced pear, musk rose, sweet pea, moonflower and snapdragon) today.  It's actually similar to La Belle au Bois Dormant, but fruitier with less of a floral component.  Nice, but I don't like very fruity perfumes.  It's lasted till noon, though.  I got a frimp of Gomorrah (ripe fig, date and currant with black herbs) and tried it out the other day.  My chemistry takes black herbs, patchouli and certain musks and turns them into a mediocre spicy scent that destroys all the other notes present.  @#$.  Stupid chemistry ruined Vixen, Lilith, Voodoo and now Gomorrah.  Sigh.  At least I know what to avoid.   Before BPAL I hated floral perfumes.  They always smelled too sweet or cloying or fake but now that I'm hooked on the good stuff, florals are far and away my favorites.  Well, florals without black herbs, patchouli, or some musks.   Roll Eyes

ME, TOO!  I'm so excited. I love Nightmare Before Christmas.  I will see anything Tim Burton makes.  They've come out with some really cute Halloween stuff w/ NBC theme.  I love Jack the Pumpkin King.  Danny Elfman's voice is awesome, as are his compositions.

The Burton/Elfman/Depp combo is certainly a winner.  Smiley

Did you watch Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events?  Kind of up that ally.

13bodies - I had the same problem with my braid bun thing slipping down my head.  I found that using 2 sticks, crossed, helps.  It also hold better if you poke the stick about an inch from the top of the bun, pointing upwards.  Then turn it down, gathering hair near the scalp.  I'm glad you tried it (even if it ended up falling into a lump.)  Smiley

Khrome, hairsticks won't even begin to hold the braid up against my head.  For I am Queen Slippery Hair with strands of teflon (tm).

Modified Gibson today with a tatted bun cover on the inner bun (from the LHC craft swap) and decorated with my Crimson Bloom Individualstick.  Washed my hair last night and the clog is gone and I finally got a strainer to keep the hair out of the drain.  Hey, it only took 6 years.  Roll Eyes

Gorey's sick again and the vet can't see him till Monday evening.  I'm not sure if I can keep that appt because he's not always on the porch until sundown.  I may make it anyway.  Last night he was coughing and his eyes were goopier than usual.  He's still eating well and is still chubby.  He does have that strong animal smell the cats tend to get when they're sick.  Agatha smelled like that when the mass on her chest was getting infected.

Agatha and I played for over an hour last night.  I wore her out.  Ha!  Miss Indoor Kitty is getting soft.  Grin

BPAL:  My 7/21 order came in!  Whee!  I got frimps of Nefertiti, Bloodlust, Santo Domingo, Nine Mysteries, Darkness, Iago, Malediction, and Maenad.  I tried Nyarlathotep (the blackest of ritual incenses charged with flashes of ozone) today and it was very pleasant for 5 minutes then it changed into that annoying spicy scent again--there must have been patchouli in it.  I tried Kurukulla (three lotus blooms and three roses) next.  Wet, it smelled like bubble gummy floral with a hint of wine.  The bubble gum was the lotus and it doesn't smell like bubble gum but it kind of does and if you smelled it you'd know exactly what I mean.  Anyway, it's all lotus on me.  I'm not sure about it, but I did get compliments and I can amp up the rose with my Lucy's Kiss.  After Kurukulla wore off (faster than I'd like) I tried Darkness (Blackest opium and narcissus deepened by myrrh) which I would never have tried on my own since I'm very wary of anything that has "black" in the description now as every other scent I've tried turns into that blah spicy thing.  However, I like this.  It's not like anything else I've liked, it's heavy and not sweet and just a bit perfumy, but I really like it.  I'm glad I didn't lay money on whether I'd like Kurukulla or Darkness better.  Darkness is on my big bottle list for sure.   8)

Hair:  Greasy, as this is hairwash night and the 3rd day since washing.  Low bun with a long scarf tied around my hairline to hide the oil, then tied around and around my bun.  I usually don't emerge from my hermit-hole on weekends, but Blood Moon is live today. (see details under BPAL).

Cats:  I am surrounded by cats.  I dream about cats, I spend my money to feed and support cats, I doctor wounds caused by cats, I get tetnus shots because of the wounds caused by cats, I spend hours petting and paying attention to cats, I am getting just the itsiest bitsiest FED UP with cats.

Whew!  I'm glad I got that out.  I never realized how nice it was to have all my cats available at all times and not secreted away outside and in isolation.  It really sucks huge gobs of time out of my not-so-ample schedule.  Sigh.  But what can I do?  I wouldn't part with the fuzzy evils, though I wouldn't mind finding a good home for Gorey.  He is a lap kitty looking for a place to land and if he's contagious he can't land inside here.

You know, my parents could use a cat.  They don't think so, but I know what's best for them.   Wink

BPAL:  Blood Moon is live today (it's this month's lunar oil Limited Edition--every month one is available during the full moon) and I was so excited, but then the description was posted (The feral scent of the heat of the chase, deep woods, undulating musks, brushed by forest herbs, crushed grains, and touched by blood-dimmed lunar oils).  Musks?  Not one, but many?  So many musks turn into that weird spicy scent, plus my chemistry did horrible things to the pine in Jabberwocky.  I think I'll pass.   Next update is 10/17 and it's called Beaver Moon.  I'm not even gonna speculate.   8)
Bastet (amber, warm Egyptian musk, fierce saffron and soft myrrh, almond, cardamom and golden lotus) today.  It's a lovely warm spicy scent, and I've been looking for one.  I do want to try Queen of Sheba (honeyed almonds and a whisper of African and Middle Eastern spices) too before I make a big bottle decision.  Speaking of big bottles, yesterday I tried Elgeba (coconut, tobacco and sweet, sugared rum)   Smiley  Cheesy Grin   It's love at first sniff.  Kiss Kiss It's a strong buttery rum scent for a couple of hours (might be a problem if I wear it to work--they might insist on a urine sample  Roll Eyes) which dries down to a darker, more grounded rum scent that occasionally releases a whiff of fresh coconut and I don't mean suntan lotion coconut.  I was going to order a 5ml with Blood Moon but I guess I'll wait till next month or the Christmas LE's, whichever is more interesting.

Be careful of the BPAL--it can be quite addictive.  I hear the DEA's going after it any day now.  Wink

It's International Talk Like a Pirate Day! ...  I've had to physically restrain myself from answering the phone "AAARRRHHH!  How can I help ye, ya scurvy landlubber? "  I wish I'd known this morning; I'd have worn my Elgeba to smell like rum. ("Why's the rum gone?")

Double lace braid today with Khrome's folded braid secured with a ficcare.  I did the double lace braid to anchor the ficcare better so it wouldn't slide down too much.  So far it seems to have worked.  Also, six months ago when I did a double lace braid it really showed off my grey hair--I had so many that below the braid was almost pure grey.  I've been using my herbal rinse 3x/week since and they're almost all gone!  Whee!  I also used a apricot-peach honeybush teabag last night instead of the hibiscus.  I need to realize that I don't like herbal teas that I find in the store.  (I've been spoiled by Upton Tea Imports; their teas are wonderful.  I placed my fall order yesterday, enough tea to last until next spring.  Yum yum yum.  Cheesy)  It worked fine but the apricot-peach scent didn't linger as I'd hoped.  Oh well.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I think whoever spayed Agatha P. left part of an ovary or something because she gets horny sometimes.  I know she's been fixed because when she was an outside cat I saw her having sex and she never got pregnant.  She's all "energetic" now--she wallows around and runs about meowing and she keeps presenting to me.  I'd do nearly anything for the cats but that's where I draw the line.  The boys wouldn't be any help either since they've been fixed.

BPAL:  Eve (apple blossom, rose, ylang ylang and golden honey) today.  I was a bit worried about the ylang ylang; I had some ylang ylang eo and I gave it away because it was too flowery but this is very nice.  It's a light, warm floral; very feminine but not too flowery.  It reminds me a bit of Alice but it lacks Alice's spicy carnation note.  I don't know if it's a big bottle simply because I don't know if I need another warm, light floral, but I"ll use the imp for sure.
More weekend BPAL:  Dorian (three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea).  Yummy!  I only ordered an imp because vanilla often becomes overpoweringly sweet on me but this is creamy and sweet with a controlled vanilla scent on the drydown.  It lasts well, too.  Between Dorian and Elgeba it's a wonder that I didn't get cavities.   8)  Ouija (rosewood, oak and teak notes with wispy blue lilac, tea rose, dried white rose and ethereal osmanthus) another very pretty floral.  This one smells like dried flowers and the woods anchor it well without being overpowering.  I like it very much, too; once again I don't know if I need a big bottle of yet another floral.  I'm getting better at figuring what scents work with my chemistry; so far it's 4 to 3 hits to misses with this order.

Bad notes on my skin:  patchouli, dark musks, black herbs, black incense (all turn into an overwhelming blah spicy scent.), violet (turns powdery, but maybe in the right blend it will work), and clove (my skin amps clove and everything else disappears).

Arrr, Mateys!

I want to list all of the BPALs I"ve tried so far.  I could write them down but I'd lose the paper.  Tongue  I wish I could sticky this but I"ll try to remember.

Jezebel--smelled off.  maybe the sandalwood?
La Belle au Bois Dormant*--fruity floral, not too fruity.
Lucy's Kiss*--rose, rose, rose
Maiden--nice enough but meh
Nefertiti*--floral to wood to myrrh; unusual, very nice
O--cloying vanilla
Snake Oil--nice in the imp, odd on my skin
Vixen--patchouli
Whip--update; hideous with my chemistry now. Sigh.

Diabolus
Bluebeard*--very nice, but too masculine for me
Bloodlust--didn't even try.  Patchouli
Catherine--the rosemary did weird things with my skin
Fenris Wolf--musk.  sigh
H ellcat--argh!  it's poison!
Maenad*--very nice at first but sweetens too much on the drydown.
Nosferatu*--love the wine note, but I get that in Blood Rose
Rage--nice enough but not enraged, more like piqued
Wicked--Jasmine slaughtered the rest of the notes and gave me a headache

Mad Tea Party
Alice*--lovely warm spicy light floral
The Dormouse--meh, no staying power
Jabberwocky--toxic
The Lion*--nice but not as nice as Bastet
March Hare--amped clove, killed the apricot
The Red Queen*--like very much but no staying power
Two, Five, and Seven*--very winey, not much rose
White Rabbit--turned into baby powder

Illyria
The Apothecary*--deep thick scent nice for rainy days
Desdemona--nice unexciting floral
Iago--didn't try.  Black musk
Lady McBeth--turned into Bubble Yum
Queen Gertrude--violets turn powdery on me
Rosalind*--lovely, but only lasts an hour or so
Titania--a bit too fruity
Viola*--another nice flower/wood/myrrh scent

Wanderlust
Gomorrah--black herbs.  sigh
Hollywood Babylon--musk
London*--great rose
Santo Domingo*--great layered with Elegba
Vinland*--very nice, but doesn't last

Rappaccini's Garden
Black Rose--update; no longer works with my chemistry.
Blood Rose*--nice winey rose
Moon Rose--meh rose

Excolo
Aizen-Myoo*--unusual, almost peachy
Bastet*--warm and spicy
Centazon Totochtin*--hate the drydown, LOVE the wet.  Will try scent locket

Eve*--lovely warm floral
Kurukulla*--bubblegummy but nice with 2, 5, & 7
Lilith--black musk
Nuit*--musk, but it behaves itself
Nyarlathotep--black incense
Queen Mab*--flowery but not too sweet
Sacred W hore of Babylon--this must have patchouli in it
Santa Muerte*--unusual pretty floral, good staying power

Voodoo Blends
All Night Long--cinnamon burns my skin
Black Cat*--smells just like Bogie
Water of Notre Dame*--I usually don't like aquatics but I like this one.

LE
13*--white chocolate floral.  a bit light
All Saints'*--Gorgeous incense/floral.
Devil's Night*--smokey then sweet.  Nice.
Fruit Moon*--FRUIT!  Fruit, fruit, fruit, fruit.  Truth in advertising here.
Gypsy Queen*--Another incense-y floral.
Harvest Moon 2005*--mulled apple cider!  Mmm...
Jacob's Ladder*--Still yet another incense-y floral and I still haven't had enough.
Lick It*--CANDY CANE!  dries down to vanilla, though.
Midway*--too foody to wear, makes me hungry, but a great room scent.
Mistletoe*--shiny dark green scent but doesn't last.
The Peac0ck Queen*--almost too perfumey but not.
Pumpkin Patch #1*--Eh.  A bit too cinnamony.
Pumpkin Patch #2*--CHOCOLATE!!
Pumpkin Patch #3*--fades very quickly
Pumpkin Patch #4*--nice, but fades very quickly too
Pumpkin Patch #5*--Pumpkin, ivy, and wood.  It works.  Huh.
Rose Red*--Wonderful fresh rose.  Wonderful
Snow White--Cold scents are not me.
Stardust--Perfumey.  I'll give it another go before deciding.
Sugar Skull '05*--Half a star really.  The drydown is nice but it's very boozy initially.  I understand it mellows with age, though.
Trick or Treat*--A bit foody but nice with Sugar Skull
Yuletide*--light berry with a touch of spice.

This is a drama in our house as well: Beagle Bear has been neutered. But the poor thing is still getting sexually harrassed by our girl puppies.

I've been feeling off all week.  I teetered on the edge of a migraine all weekend and Penny Dreadful sent me over the edge.  I found out Monday lots of migraineurs had headaches and I figured the weather was going to change for the worse.  It did; it rained.  My head's still kind of iffy; I won't drink any hot tea for fear it'll trigger a migraine and I won't even look at Penny Dreadful, but I don't know....  I keep losing my train of thought and bumping into things and groping for words worse than usual.  Just a bad week, I guess.   Roll Eyes  Thank God I'm not premenstrual or it might have killed me. It may yet.   Wink

Hair:  Ear to ear lace braid, then simple bun with a two-strand braid held with my Sparkling Heart Gemstix.  The poor little sticks are swallowed up by my bun--all you can see are the goldstone hearts twinkling bravely against the Wad o' Hair (tm).  I'm going to have to save my shorter sticks for other styles; they look too weird in a single bun.

I need to update my hairstick list.  I just ordered the Montana Sparkle Shadowstix.  I liked the bead since it's one I don't have, but I don't do blue.  There matters rested until 10 last night and I remembered I just ordered a blue top!  Embroidered with silver circles!  Whee!  I don't know if it fits or not, but hey, you gotta take some risks when you're serious about accessorizing.   8)

Gorrito is back.  He was gone for 24 hours.  He has not been neutered, so I know he was off making little Goreys as though one weren't enough trouble.   Roll Eyes

Agatha's eating again.  Last week she'd take 4 days to eat a small can of food and then daintily nibble at her kibble (Emily Dickenson, eat your heart out   Grin)  but she's making up for it now.  Last night she ate a whole can of food and a whole bowl of kibble.

Bogie and Rumpole are Bogie and Rumpole.  Omnipresent, omnivorous and ominous.

BPAL:  Yesterday I tried H ellcat (hazelnut, buttercream, honey mead, rum and sweet almond) which I thought would be right up my alley after my successes with Elgeba and Dorian, but ewwewwewwEWWEWWWWW!  It smelled acrid and horrible and burned my skin.  I washed it off and it still burned.  All I can figure is it was the honey mead.  Shudder.
Magdalene today (white roses, labdanum, and wild orchid).  In the imp it smelled funny.  Not bad, but almost bad.  I think it was the labdanum as I understand it's a resin from an evergreen.  Anyway, as it dried the funny smell disappeared and it turned into a light sweet very white floral.  It almost made it to the end of the day.  Not a big bottle scent but it's nice for almost headache days since it's too light to trigger one.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (aka MST3K) the late, much lamented TV show about a janitor shot into space by a mad scientist who forces him and his robot buddies to watch bad movies is, was, and always will be one of my favorite programs.  I was watching my tapes last night and they were savaging a 50's-era short about personal hygene.  The short suggested washing your hair on the same day each week so you wouldn't forget and Tom Servo (one of the robots) cracked,  "Keep a detailed log!"  When I first saw that, I laughed.  At the time I thought he was just kidding.   Roll Eyes

Last night was hairwash night.  (Hi, Tom!)  I don't know if my hair is too clean or too dirty or too what but it won't do a #*&$ thing today.  I"m wearing a Modified Gibson with my Meadow Roses Fantasystix and I've had to re-do the outer coil twice, not counting all of the fiddling with the pins and sticks.  Grrr.  I hate bad hair days.  I think part of the problem is that my bun is too low on my head and gravity is exercising its option to make my life as difficult as possible.

Last night I went to the Kitty Suite where the P. had folded the bedspread up and had been clawing (destroying) the blanket.  I flung myself down on the bed to play with her and my knee landed in something.

Something cold.

Something wet.

Something sticky.

Something brown.

So Agatha took a $#!^ on the bedspread.  At least she covered it up like a good cat.   Roll Eyes  I can only guess that she felt the level of litter in her box was inadequate.  Agatha is in training to join the International Feline Olympics Litter-Kicking Team.  She is a world-class litter kicker; there's always more litter on the floor than in the box at any given time.  I scoop it all back in every couple of days but that must not have been good enough this time.  She had the chutzpah to be irritated when I left our playtime early to scrub the crap off of my leg and launder the bedclothes.  Cattitude, you gotta love it.

BPAL:  Kurukulla (three lotuses and three roses)  I mostly get the bubblegummy smell of lotus here with faint fruity-wine smell in the background.  I was going to layer this with Lucy's Kiss to amp the rose but I decided to use 2, 5, & 7 instead since it's a winey rose scent as well.  Not bad.  They go well together, though this is really more of a summer combo--juicy fruity wine with bubblegummy floral in the foreground.  Lasts reasonably well.  If I'd had the sense to buy an imp first Kurukulla wouldn't be a big bottle scent, but I'll wear it so no loss.

It's all hairsticks all the time here today.  I'm wearing 3 mini buns with my Miss Scarlett Shadowstix, Warm Glow Individualistix, Crimson Bloom Individualstix, and Vampira Swingstix.  I'm expecting messages from space to broadcast from the back of my head any minute now.  Grin

I am going to Wal-Moo and buying a large plastic storage container to use as Agatha's litterbox.  I'll cut a small door in the front but she'll have to shovel the stuff over the high sides from now on.  She's already kicked half of the new litter in the floor, plus she dragged the bathmat into the box to help cover everything.  She used to do that to the towels stored under the sink until I finally wised up and removed them.  She also OWWWoowwwwooowwwwoooo'd 4 times last night and kept waking me up. I'll put her outside if she keeps it up--right out the window, I will.

Yeah, right.  Roll Eyes

BPAL:  Fruit Moon (green apple, apricot, blackberry, black cherry, black and red currants, cantaloupe, English pear, guava, lemon and lime, orange, mandarin orange, kiwi and mango, passion fruit, papaya, Georgia peach, raspberry, plum, tangerine, pomegranate and strawberry over a luminous blend of lunar oils).  Beth was not kidding.  This is FRUIT!  At first it's too fruity for me and I got a hint of koolaid powder, but as it dries down the more exotic fruits come out.  It doesn't last too long though.  It's nearly gone now; it will need to be re-applied.
