Thanks all!

Cat Tales

I love cats.  But sometimes they can be so pushy!  This morning it is cloudy out, and black-and-white kitty seems to get needy.  As soon as I opened my door to let some fresh air in, she was crying at the door.  I hadn't made my breakfast yet, so didn't let her in right away, and the crying turned into outright demanding.

So, putting off breakfast I let her in.  Did the coo/cuddle thing until I felt my allergies coming on, then got her three pieces of Friskies snack and lured her outside.

Then I made my breakfast, sat down to eat it, and looked outside.  There is a staircase leading up to the second floor right outside my door.  Kitty was sitting there like a gargoyle, giving me the evil eye, I'm sure.

Halfway through my meal, kitty starts banging on the screen door again.  I thought "cats are smart, right?  Smart as a small child?"  So I used a disciplinary trick I learned from the show Supernanny.  I got down to Kitty's eye level, told her firmly but gently that I'm not letting her in, and that she already got cuddles and snacks, and that I'm busy eating.  The pawing stopped.

Kitty is now watching quietly from the stairs again.

Did I mention this is not my cat??  Smiley

Ain't that the truth!

ACV rinse with honey tonight.  I swiped some honey packs from Cheesecake Factory last week (the jar I had was old and crystalized.)  So this was only the second time with honey.  I love how soft and volumized it makes my hair.  I'm going to have to buy a real jar instead of snagging restaurant packs.

My Artwork

Since everyone is sharing their lovely artwork, I thought I'd share some art too.  Cheesy

Back in the mid-90's, I created a site dedicated to fan-art of a Japanese manga called "Gunnm"  by Yukito Kishiro.  It doesn't get updated anymore, but I keep it online for posterity.  My pics are under my name on this page:
http://www.eccentricus.net/gunnm/

In this gallery, I have some assorted arts and crafts:
http://www.loopfree.net/gallery/album64

And my latest piece is a World of Warcraft fan-art, and has a summer theme.  Summer is over, and the pic is not done.   Roll Eyes  I'm experimenting with doing every stage of the comic book producing process, and this is the "inking" stage.  It's only a corner of the whole pic.  She is a Night Elf, thus the long ears:
http://www.eccentricus.net/khrome/images/wow_summer_ink.jpg

And here is a portion of the same piece that has been colored.  It's a murloc and a gnome:
http://www.eccentricus.net/khrome/images/wow_murgnome.jpg

As you can tell this piece is meant to be humorous.  here is the last portion - it depicts a design on the back of a girls shirt.
http://www.eccentricus.net/khrome/images/wow_hello-tauren.jpg

That one is funny cuz it's a knockoff of our favorite cute Hello Kitty. Except it's a tauren - a big, ugly, cow looking beast.  Making it so cutsee will most likely aggravate the Horde.  And THAT's what we live for!

In every piece of art, I try to experiment with something I'm not good at.  Lately it's been color and motion.

Thanks, Lisabelle, BB, Juri and Sakina!  I really wish I had more time to finish the Warcraft pic.  Maybe by next summer!  Smiley

It's been raining all week except for today.  My hair is really soft and fluffy.  Now I don't really know if it was from the honey-acv or the humidity!  Grr.

Now the Birthday Partying Begins!

Tomorrow is my boyfriend's birthday!  He wants a dinner at Cheesecake Factory too now.  Copy-cat!  Smiley

It won't be hard to forget Pan's birthday since it's one day before his.  Wink

Next month is my dad's birthday.  He'll be 70!  I'm going to get him a ukulele.  The one he had is beaten up, and he deserves a nice shiney new one.

Then it's my best friend's bday, and my nieces bday at the end of November.  Yikes!  I'll be broke.  Smiley
