I wasn't really sure where to start this thread, so feel free (mods) to move it to a more appropriate location if necessary.
So the other day, I was browsing through Target (the hair care aisles, of course
) and made a startling discovery.
It seems that Conair now makes seamless, hand-made combs! Just like those made by brands like Kent and Rachael Stephens...only these are cut from a solid piece of acrylic instead of cellulose. And they cost about half as much.
I immediately produced my RS #45 from my purse for comparison to the extra wide-tooth Conair comb and they were virtually identical!! Cynical as I am, I figured that there
must be a catch somewhere to make the Conair combs not as good. So I searched each and every tooth for even the slightest seams...and there weren't any!
In a mix of shock and frustration, I put my RS #45 back into my purse and walked away, muttering, "I can't believe it." Within minutes, I was back in the aisle, furiously comparing and searching for seams again. I actually did this about 2 or 3 more times.
I'll admit that I am rather hard to convince these days.
My questions are these: Has anyone else seen these new seamless Conair combs? If so, what do you think of them? Would they work as well as the more expensive cellulose combs? Are they half the price for a reason?
I'm still in shock and skeptical, but I am more than willing to give these a shot if you all think that they might be worth it. Any opinions?
